“We really want to make the Amazing Race again, but we won’t film it in Australia again, we’ve done that,” said McGarvey. Noting that the US version is currently in production internationally, she added, “it is our strong ambition to film it outside Australia next year and our feeling is we will be able to do it”.

Happy to see those words! One domestic season per franchise is enough, unless the franchise is Canada.

The Amazing Race back in 2022. Filming commencing in the new year, and yep, overseas. I’ve seen the route, it’s crazy.
Casting will begin very soon. Follow The Amazing Race AU for casting dates and updates.
It’s gonna be the biggest season yet. So start working out who you are gonna to do it with, and I’ll see you in Lebanon….

The Amazing Race Australia heads back overseas?

“We hope so. Obviously, we’re talking to all our partners at the minute. We certainly would like to get amazing.

“I think there’s a massive appetite for people to see the rest of the world and we would love to be able to bring them that. So we’re just working through all of that at the moment.

“We would love to get around the world or certainly, a bit of the world!

“It certainly won’t be in the first half. Just realistically, it’s going to take a bit of time to pull it all together.”

If he just gave away a country, Lebanon sounds interesting. No TAR's gone there. Australia 1 went to Israel.

Well, the third Australian season was the only route other than US season 5 to ever go to all 6 continents. They could do great things with the right budget. But after the previous seasons, I have a gut feeling this is more referring to their newfound affinity for unique twists.

The US is reopening its borders to fully vaccinated travelers (including those from countries with a travel ban) on November 8th as long as proof of full vaccination and a negative COVID test are presented before your flight.

Could we possibly get a US leg or legs this season?

They might want to reconsider visiting Lebanon. The place is quite messed up at the moment.

A update from Beau...

Beau could be swerving us. He could mean the USA. Lebanon, PA is right in the middle of Amish country and I'm sure they could find interesting things to to do there. It's also not too far from Philadelphia and the Hershey's chocolate factory/Hersheyland amusement park.

There's also a Lebanon in Oregon but it's a small town and I'm not sure what you would do there except go to other nearby cities. However, it is close enough for me to go to try to watch the filming, but I don't think the TAR Australia production staff would take that into consideration.

Me trying to report on the filming:  :didimiss:

Good thoughts. Lebanon (country)  seems unlikely so like your ideas! Highly doubt they would advertise the first leg. You have to watch out for those SPOILER people!  :funny:

Based on what applicants are apparently being told I think we are still looking at mid to late February start, and leaning more towards later in the month.

Not sure, we all have the same set of info.

Casting said end of Feb filming which means it could be any day now. Maybe they pushed it back, we have no idea. Start to look for sightings, because we can't really confirm until we see them.

They could do a sort of reverse TAR33 route. A large chunk in Europe and also the US and Canada have eased up on restrictions recently. So those are possibilities too.

I would assume that this outbreak has caused some last minute changes to the route. Maybe replace a couple of big city legs in favor of more rural locations.

The clues still say The Amazing Race Australia, but they are sub-heading the season Around The World after the 'at home' version last year. Promo looks fab, as always! Can't wait to meet the teams properly!

So the first three legs in Morocco appear to be spread across Marrakech, Chefchaouen, and Ouarzazate at minimum via either Melbourne or Sydney; half-expecting Casablanca and/or Tangier to pop up in some configuration at this rate.

New article out revealing that Beau returned to host the season in a leg taking place in Medellin, Colombia. The season experienced snowy weather in Athens, Santorini, and Turkey.

He also lost his bag on the way to Colombia and ran out of clothes so he has a Pit Stop in Belize where he's just wearing a towel.

Just some Pit Stop photos:

Important details:
-Someone had a panic attack in Morocco over a task involving "running across hot coals, hurling herself through rings of fire and body-slamming her way through a brick wall."
-Leg 1 has a task involving "a spice-guessing game".
-"In Greece, a braying donkey liberated itself with a swift kick and had to be pursued through an ancient village. Sleep deprivation and physical exhaustion amplified minor tiffs into promotion-worthy slanging matches. And what began as a race to the summit of a mountain was thwarted by a howling blizzard, forcing authorities to evacuate."
-Production was not allowed to film in several airports during the season.

I get the feeling they filmed the run at the start and reading of the clue on a different day to this, perhaps the day before as teams left Melbourne. This is because the teams weren't wearing their jackets at the start line we saw on Instagram, and there is a clip of Heath/Toni reading their first clue in good weather whereas this looks to be a wet day...

Episode 5: Teams test their driving skills and go fishing from the docks, before they must lead a donkey up a cliff, and jump into a parkour challenge across Santorini's rooftops in the adventure of a lifetime.

So despite not included in description, from what we have from the sightings, episode 3, which would be leg 2 for both groups, is when the merge happens.

Double checking the Network 10 tv guide.
Indeed, we're getting

Episode descriptions for Episode 10-12: (same as usual, first episode of the week is 90 minutes, rest is 60)

Wonder if this 90-60-60 pattern will also be kept for the final trio of episodes in Australia.

Episode descriptions for Episode 13-15: (a slight variation on the length pattern, Episode 13 is 90 minutes, Episode 14 is 70 minutes, Episode 15 is 60 minutes.)

Episode 13: Racing through the jungle and busy streets of Belize, teams face multiple challenges as they head into a tough Eat or Beat Detour. Then, a heart-pounding foot race to the finish sends one team home.

Episode 14: To avoid their race ending in ruins, teams go back to school and pick between a game of Pok-A-Tok or an ancient number puzzle. Finally, they must memorise the months of the complex Mayan calendar.

Episode 15: On the scenic island of Caye Caulker, teams must choose to learn a local dance or try a hair-braiding challenge, before a totes coco loco Roadblock. Who will be first to meet Beau on the Pit Stop mat?

And an unfortunate and disappointing sign of the future - the season's getting burned off.

Next week 10 screens the series from Sunday 26th – Thursday 29th.

This suggests 10 is looking to wrap the season early, following disappointing numbers.

We get five episodes next week. Will release episode descriptions for Episode 16 and 17 once I get them.

Expect Episodes 18-20 to air on Sunday-Tuesday (October 2-4) and then the finale on October 9.

It's got nothing to do with Real Love Boat. It isn't airing in any of TAR's timeslots.

And what I mean is that 10 announcing an airdate for Real Love Boat earlier is what's preventing them from fully burning off the season in 2 weeks as Wednesday-Thursday is now locked.
