I’m guessing all stars due to absolutely nothing from the casting department was heard. Or they are using the teams from 3 years ago

If it is all stars then it will be cheesy for the them to start with a feris wheel task that tar24 started with  for all-stars.. But it would be great task since the twins were really strong contenders and were taken out by it

I'm not sure about the rest of y'all, but I'm really excited that TAR Canada is back filming! After a long time of this series being in an "uncertain limbo" I'm really thrilled that Jon & the team are back out there on the road!  :cheer: :conf:

TAR Canada is a really underrated series (in my opinion) and I'm really excited to see where Season 8 takes us! I (personally) love the city of Montreal (maybe because I love everything French!!), so, for me, Season 8 has already excited me to see what's to come!

Just before I sign off, a massive shoutout and a massive thank you to our TAR Detective team, who are bringing us all of our sightings! Y'all rock!  :yourock:

Hoping that Meaghan Mikkelson(-Reid) was inactive on socials because of sequestering for TARCAN:A-S until that unknown Ukie M/M surfaced; just bittersweet.

If my pre-Y2K field trip there were any indication, it'll be more like the Castlegar-Nelson visit than either Banff or Jasper.

Low bar for Interior BC legs, which are almost always inferior to episodes in Vancouver - city and island alike.

Been watching this for a while - do you think that they'll continue going west through BC along the southern route - through Cranbrook and Castlegar to the Okanagan? Maybe Osoyoos? it's a 6 hour drive but if they self drive they can avoid airports and crowds.

Welcome Max K! I was actually thinking of the town of Kimberley north of Cranbrook as a possibility if they continued on the highway for another leg. They've got the whole Bavarian district that's reminiscent of the alps. Castlegar and Osoyoos were done in past seasons so they're less likely.

That's as far as I ever visited in BC.

Such a pity.

Another country's version finally got that too many alpha-male teams means too much predictability in the eliminations.  Canada still seems to not be getting that, what with the casting of three of them.

The first leg was in Montreal (starting line unknown, the leg was already well underway when we found them). The next one should be leg 4.

FYI, there've been at least two times that they began filming in early May instead: TARCAN1 and TARCAN3.

So thank God for production eschewing those precedents!

Gonna take a wild guess and say the final 3 will consist of Team 2,3 and 9.

Hoping a FF team sneaks in and they don't get slaughtered back to back like season 6.

After 3 years without being able to easily travel, it's nice to see TAR Australia, Canada and US making up for lost time all at once later this year. But this is the lamest route TARCan's ever done. Their intention was clearly to limit the amount of air travel, but as far as we know, they just criss-crossed the same 4 provinces. I'm in the Maritimes and we've had most restrictions lifted, they could have come via Quebec.

Of course the quality of the tasks and the cast makes a big difference. I watched BBCan 9 and Tychon was known for being a bit of a backstabber. After Dave & Irina's refreshing brand of villainy last season, I really hope he'll bring it to the Race.

When TARCAN7's route reverted to all-domestic without any warning whatsoever, the writing for TARCAN8 was already on the wall; just a relief that Jon retained his role after all was said and done.

The route is definitely underwhelming, especially after TARAUS5 just proved you can do an international route reaching six continents in 2022. If they really wanted, they could have visited a low risk European country for a leg or two but  :duno:

But hopefully the cast can deliver! Even though last season was also all in Canada, I still mostly enjoyed that season due to the cast. So hopefully the same can be said for this season too.

Hate the route but love the cast.

It looks interesting. Looks like 3 indigenous, 3 Asian and 6 Black contestants so far.

Plus another FF made the finale and an Indigenous team and Asian team made the finale.

Franca and Nella seem like fun. I honestly can't wait for this season!

I'd rather have a villain team if it makes the season interesting rather than everyone being nice and boring like TARCAN5/6.
Sure.  A villain or villain team can be great if he, she, or they prove(s) entertaining and engaging.  A nice love-to-hate villain or villain team (like Dave & Irina) can make a season much more fun and interesting to watch, so much so that you even root for them a little.  However, there are also those villains and villain teams who can also be cringeworthy and highly uncomfortable to watch, too, like Jillian was (at least I thought so) and, as it's sounding like, Craig & Catherine could be.  All you'd root for seeing in those cases is seeing them lose, and lose badly and humiliatingly.

So even villains and villain teams can be double-edged swords.

Yeah! I'd like to correct all of you about the tagalog words so we can describe them easily:

Filipina / Pinay = women in the Philippines
Filipino / Pinoy = men in the Philippines

oookay? FilipinO is also gender neutral? And can be used to describe more than just people?

But, if I understand your question correctly, you asked if this was the first time a "Filipina F/F" team made it to the Final 4 of any TAR in the world in its history. And I replied saying that other than obviously TAR Philippines which featured Filipino teams (MM, FF, MF) who of course made it to the Final 4, there was a Filipino all-female team who
Show content
won
on season 5 of The Amazing Race Asia.

TAR Asia 4 also had Jess & Lani, who represented the Philippines and reached the Final 4, though both were born in Australia and lived in the Philippines. But only Lani is of Filipino descent. Jess was not ethnically Filipino, I believe.

Start line: Unknown atm (Possible sighting in Mont Tremblant, Quebec)
So the route is

Leg 1: Quebec
Leg 2: Alberta
Leg 3: BC
Leg 4: Alberta
Leg 5: BC
Leg 6: Ontario
Leg 7: Ontario
Leg 8: Ontario/Quebec
Leg 9: ????
Leg 10: Ontario
Leg 11: British Columbia.

I'm fine with a domestic route but this sucks.  Not only is it just four provinces, they are the four most over-used provinces in the show!  Not to mention the constant criss-crossing of the country.  They could have at least done 6 provinces with two legs each.

Seeing there is potentially 8/11 legs in BC and Ontario is the most TAR Canada-esque to have happen by season 8.

I do find it funny it took them about twenty legs in BC before visiting my hometown. It feels like a natural conclusion to the series--the very first leg took place where I went to university for four years, and then one of the final episodes takes place in the town I've lived in for the past 23 years.

Imagine if this season was an all-returnee season? That would've made it funnier for me. Players who went to multiple countries and the majority of the provinces and territories only to get brought back for a season that barely hits four of the thirteen provinces and territories would've been a great way to troll the returnees.
I have been to 63 countries. I have met Phil Keoghan, Jon Montgomery, Allan Wu, Elise and Bertram in person. I visited Joe & Bill in Hawaii, JK & Mike in Singapore, and Rovilson in Manila. I attended the TAR 28, 29, and 34 finales.

Have they ever had legs in the Yukon or NWT?  Seems like the show's well overdue to visit those provinces or territories.  They've done Prince Edward Island, after all, so it's probably high time for the other two.

For that matter, have there ever been legs in Manitoba, Alberta, or Newfoundland?

Yukon's had 3 visits, and NWT 3 (once as the starting line). The third territory, Iqaluit, got a single one in the first season.

The most surprising unvisited place for me after 8 seasons is that they've been to the province called Newfoundland and Labrador a couple times but haven't touched the "Labrador" half of it - Labrador City, Happy Valley-Goose Bay, the Torngat Mountains... It's sparsely populated but there's options

Shades of voting for Canada's Choice under the reasonable assumption that last season would fly abroad only for it to go full-on Family Edition; in other words, TARCAN routing has permanently become a write-off.

It's June 15th. The show can't be more than 3 weeks away to fit with TAR34's September airing, and the social media pages haven't said a word about the season yet, no cast, not even a premiere date.

I thought CTV would put more hype into the 3-year return of their #1 show every summer. Maybe, even they're disappointed in the weakest TAR route ever and don't want to talk about it until they absolutely have to  :funny:

They've got two days left to release something before time's up.

Before time's up for what?  It's their channel; they can air things when they want, with or without warning.  It's at their discretion, but we don't decide their rules.

Yay @ TARCAN's answer to Emon/Jamiul from the second season of Race Across the World turning out to be flops just like the BBCAN9 crossover!

Since I got back into TAR in 2013 and caught up on seasons, I ultimately decided this is the first season between US/Canada/Australia I'm skipping. I just don't have the motivation or patience these days to spend another 3 months on a version that makes no effort to better itself (or can't, really, the CTRC's Canadian Content laws are essentially what keep them in the country). The fact a travel competition show got an energy drink maker for the trip sponsor instead of, say, a travel company, tells me enough about the kind of budget they had to work with.

I'll just check in on who wins in September, and can't wait for both US 34 and Australia 8 then, too.

LOL @ one-upping the Kimberley Cousins from TARAUS5 by reviving both Jully & Kathy as well as Cassie & Jahmeek!

CTV 1, Channel Ten 0.

More like TARAUS2 because both TARCAN1 as well as TARCAN4 dwarf all the other Aussie seasons.

Tbh, I haven't enjoyed this season as much as I expected. I feel like the product placement challenges cheapened the show.

The subway challenge and Marshall's outfit challenge were so cringey and boring. A lot of the tasks have been a snoozefest tbh

I do like the cast though. There are a lot of likeable teams

Very unfortunate that B & V will go home empty-handed.
