This thread is the WORKZONE of our spoilers.
This is where ALL the spoiler discussion of the TARCAN 10 race goes, NOT in the LIVE thread. It is where we try to thrash out what the LIVE sightings mean.
As always, per RFF's practices, we do not a future location until it is believed that the teams are safely underway. We would never want to put a team in jeopardy or cause them distress or interfere with the actual running of the race. Info on future legs may occasionally be protected for those reasons. But if you have info to share beforehand, we would love to know, so please PM or email me! Spoilers are treasured!

Do we have photo evidence of teams at Niagara Falls?
-
Yes. Same start line location as season one!
-
I wonder if it could be all stars? Season 10 and season 1 starting line..??
I'm more so wondering if they'll lean into the anniversary aspect. Could we get Switchbacks?
-
Starting line Oakes Garden Theatre, Niagara Falls, ON
-
Did they already kick off?
-
Did they already kick off?
On Tuesday afternoon. If the rest of leg 1 wasn’t in Niagara, then it concluded yesterday.

Gibsons is about half-an-hour drive (25 km) from the Sechelt entrance to Porpoise Bay.
There are two access points from Vancouver:
- If teams travel to Gibsons first, BC Ferries goes from Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver to Langdale, about 5km north of Gibsons
- If teams travel to Porpoise Bay first, there's a seaplane base on Porpoise Bay that serves Sechelt. Teams could travel here from multiple spots in Vancouver, or theoretically other parts of BC.
Due to TARCan's budget, I'm going to assume the first is more likely, particularly since the Gibsons filming permit included yesterday and today. Perhaps teams took the last ferry of the day on the 25th and stayed overnight. This would be particularly useful if teams flew into Vancouver for Leg 2 after the first leg took place around Niagara Falls.
-
I'm guessing Niagara Falls was leg 1.
It was a starting line in season 1, but never actually featured as a leg itself. Last year they went to Niagara-on-the-Lake, which is 30 minutes away

the amazing race spotted?
“Walking around Granville island in bc with family and talked to some restaurant and one of the camera guys.”
Teams spotted in Granville Island for a likely leg 3:
- John Ferguson & partner (photos 2 & 3)
- Lauren & Nicole (Blonde Twins) (photo 5)
- Tyler & Michael (photo 6)
And I want to say picture 4 shows either Michael & Amari OR Colin & Matt. Tough to tell with one team member bending over.
-
From the Twins clue it looks like the assist is back! Also photo four look like a team from Newfoundland from the flag on the hat. Not sure which team it is idk names yet
-
Unsure whether which of Vancouver/Penticton is leg 3 and which is leg 4, but, regardless, the picture from Penticton is in front of the S.S. Sicamous Museum and Heritage Park (https://www.visitpenticton.com/listing/ss-sicamous-museum-and-heritage-park-2/).

The only Vancouver sightings were at Granville market. Could be a sponsor task before flying to Penticton like season 8 with Marshall’s?
-
From the photos in Pentiction the teams I see are
Lauren & Nicole, Michael & Tyson, Colin & Matt, Sam & Brad, Taylor & Katie, and John & Connor. Theres 2 people 1 in a black toque and 1 in a red jacket that I can't Identify from the photos from the car roadblock sidelines.
The five teams not directly spotted from what I see are
Kevin & Gurleen, Trystenne & Eva, Michael & Amari, Olus & Dorothy, Olivia & Julia
The red jacket could be Olivia and Julia or Olus and Dorothy since they were both in red at the start I believe. Idk who the black toque could be.
-
9 teams in Richmond/Vancouver means that Leg 1 (Ontario?) and Leg 2 (Sunshine Coast) were elimination legs.
Still undetermined whether or not Penticton and Vancouver are one leg, but I find it hard to believe that teams would complete one task in Granville Island, vote for a U-Turn, and then... fly to the Okanagan for a Detour, U-Turn, and Roadblock? It also looks like Michael & Amari are performing a task at Parker Place, with a light and camera crew set up around a (task judge?) on the stage. The addition of a task in Vancouver makes it seem more likely that there's a full leg there, as we now know of two tasks and two Route Markers.
At the same time, would TARCan have a U-Turn into a KOR? Or, are teams voting at the start of Leg 4 in Vancouver after a KOR/short rest period before flying to Penticton for the leg?
The timing is weird, but I'm team Vancouver is leg 3 and Penticton is leg 4. Since teams are flying to Manitoba today, I think we have to be on the fifth leg, because- and this may change once we learn where leg 1 was filmed- I don't believe an all-domestic season would only film two legs (2 and 3) in British Columbia. It's the best province to film in at this point in the year.
-
I cannot make out all of the nine teams on the U-Turn Board, but we know that (1) all of these teams are safe:
Lauren & Nicole, Michael & Tyson, Colin & Matt, Sam & Brad, Taylor & Katie, and John & Connor.
Further, (2) Michael and Amari are our seventh team of the top 9, seen voting at the U-Turn.
(3) I still don't know teams' names, but we see the F/F in Red and F/F in Blue on the U-Turn Board. Thus, Olivia & Julia and Taylor & Katie both make the top nine.
(4) As for the remaining spot, I think Kevin & Gurleen are the picture in the top row, second from the left. The man looks like Kevin; further, I sped the audio in the video down, and we can hear Michael & Amari talking through their U-Turn Vote. It sounds like (can't 100% confirm due to audio quality) that they're saying, "We're working with (?) Gurleen, Kevin's strong."
I think this means that Olus & Dorothy and Trystenne & Eva are our first two teams eliminated :(
-

[/quote]
Olus and Dorthy are in pictures in Sunshine BC so they aren’t first out (unless that’s leg one then they could be)
-
from the U truncates vote the teams on the board I see in order from top left to right is
?, Kevin & Gurleen, Taylor & Katie, Michael & Amari, John & Connor, (bottom) Sam & Brad, Olivia & Julia, Lauren & Nicole, Colin & Matt
I assume the first photo is Michael & Tyson

I didn't find anything out of Russell. The town's public invitation said the closures were for 2 days. Guessing today is for Jon and setup, tomorrow we'll see the teams.
But it did mention the arches of Main Street.
-
Correct. They’re leaving Penticton today and will be in Manitoba tomorrow. Today is just Jon.
Only flights out of Penticton are to Calgary (1 morning) and Vancouver (1 morning & 1 evening).
-
Based on past years, there's a definite chance they'll double back to BC for a third leg after this. Hopefully not.
It's their 10th season. Even on a domestic route, they should put a strong effort into this one :P
-
Could Regina be leg one in a KOR the continue to Russell for part 2. Kinda like Niagara to Windsor last season?
Edit: never mind John is in Russell already

It's near the border with Saskatchewan, more convenient to get there via Regina than it is from Winnipeg.
Also, this is not the same Mosaic Stadium that was featured in Season 1. That was torn down in 2017

From SaskToday. https://www.sasktoday.ca/highlights/the-amazing-race-canada-season-10-takes-regina-by-storm-8689519
One taxi after another arrived at Kreos Air – some elated and celebratory. One team however tearfully embraced in a hug – seemingly eliminated from the competition.
I have a hard time believing that this is actually an elimination; even if teams performed a task at Hotel Saskatchewan, two tasks (including the one with watermelons at Mosaic Stadium) is abnormally low. I think this is far more likely to resemble TARCan 1's territory double-feature, where teams took charter planes mid-leg. A team is probably just upset that they're on the last charter plane, but the quote is interesting and certainly worth pulling from the article.
-
Another quote from the same article:
The crew started filming in British Columbia on April 23.
Could leg 1 have started in Niagara Falls and taken place in British Columbia? Did they start with 4 BC legs in a row again?
Or, is this another inaccuracy by the reporter, conflating the sighting of the Starting Line on the 23rd with the first sighting in the Sunshine Coast on the 26th.
-

It seems to me like 3 legs in BC is much more likely given what we've seen. After all, where in BC would this fourth leg have been?
-
From my understanding, there's two possibilities for leg 1:
1) Niagara Area starting line + rest of the leg (either IN niagara or like somewhere drivable in Ontario
2) Niagara Falls starting line and one task + a flight to anywhere in the country (probably BC) for leg 1.
They were not spotted going to BC, so technically it could be anything.
We know by the U-Turn vote in Richmond, there's already 2 teams eliminated, so this is minimum leg 3 (but who knows...)
Also, I think April 28-29 is just one leg (Sunshine coast start to Vancouver-Richmond, to Penticton (rest for the night) then the next day is the end of the leg.
Which would mean we are on leg 4 for Regina-Russelll (but it's possible Penticton on April 28th was a NEL leg, but that picture of all 9 teams in front of the lake makes it look like the campfire scene from Leg 5 last year.
-
While it would be an (uncharacteristically) fast turnaround to have Leg 3 in Richmond and Leg 4 in Penticton, the alternative- two legs in a row (Richmond-Penticton-Oliver and Regina-Russell) with midleg flight transportation seems like a weird design choice to me.
A U-Turn into a KOR is much more likely to me, whether or not that KOR had an elimination or not. Unfortunately, I think our determination of whether or not this is one leg or two will have to depend on how many legs this season ends up filming.
Which would mean we are on leg 4 for Regina-Russelll (but it's possible Penticton on April 28th was a NEL leg, but that picture of all 9 teams in front of the lake makes it look like the campfire scene from Leg 5 last year.
In the event Regina/Russell is Leg 4, the Leg 3 that covers half of BC could be either a NEL or elimination. However, if Regina/Russell is Leg 5, then either the Richmond or Penticton leg is a NEL, as the two teams not spotted in Penticton (Kevin & Gurleen and Michael & Amari) are spotted doing the Roadblock in Russell. Unless, of course, that picture of Kevin is somehow Matt of Collin & Matt.
Also, I don't think we see all 9 teams in front of Okanagan Lake? What picture are you referring to? To the best of my knowledge, about six teams are seen at the Roadblock at Area 27.
-
This may have been brought up before but it would be interesting if teams used the U-Turn vote in Richmond, and THEN flew to Penticton where the detour actually was. It would make for drama on the plane knowing that you had to do both sides of the U-Turn once you landed.
-
Teams seen in Regina/Russell are
- Twins
- Father Son
- Newfie Friends
- Wrestlers
- Married FF
- Kevin and Gurleen
Not Seen
- Baseball Players MM
- Married MF (believed 1/2 out)
- Fitness FF (believed 1/2 out)
- Father Daughter
- MM Friends/influencers
-
With them adding an 11th team back in for the first time since Season 3, I'm thinking they might be leaning into TARUS' "no Non-Eliminations" thing.
TAR Canada has a propensity to repeat twists that worked for them before. For budget's sake, they might do a leg like Toronto last year, not a true "Megaleg" by US definition but enough to fill two episodes. That plus one KOR.
-
My guess is they'll do something in the Elora Gorge. It's nice and secluded for a river task. They also have a zipline and a rappel.

If they're driving around that part of Ontario, I'd be unsurprised by some mennonite action in St. Jacobs or acting/Shakespeare in Stratford. There's not a world of excitement in that part of Ontario.

I could see that. I would also guess a visit to Guelph. With Windsor's visit last season Guelph is one of the biggest cities in Ontario they haven't been to yet.
-
I guess it's okay to say we know where they'll be racing on Friday. Because similarly to Russell, the town and county itself have been posting on Facebook, inviting people to come out to see Jon and the race. And of course reminding them that cameras aren't allowed.
Seems the local media where they go are being more open this year.

No, that leg would be done now. It's a different part of Ontario.

Just speculating on where they could have disappeared this week...
A milestone 10th season feels like an opportunity to include some of their remaining "bucket list" spots. Algonquin Park is jumping to mind. It's Canada's oldest provincial park, covering a huge area, and one of the most well-known they haven't visited yet.
Perfect to host their obligatory wilderness/outfitter-sponsored leg :P

I'm also thinking, given Maxville's proximity to Ottawa/Gatineau, the preceding leg may have been in Quebec, particularly with a rural/self-driving component.

Yes think this is possible too. TARC has been breaking up the Ontario legs in the past, which suggests they could have traveled to another province between Elora and Cornwall.
They could have driven from somewhere like Sherbrooke or the Eastern townships in Quebec. Ottawa airport is nearby, so they could have easily flown under the radar, pun intended :funny:

https://ici.radio-canada.ca/nouvelle/2071601/amazing-race-tournage-shawinigan-telerealite
They were in Shawinigan, QC on Wednesday and Thursday. One task was at Dupont Ranch, which is known for its camels.
Translating the article and including the most interesting/relevant sections:
The Amazing Race Canada, which has been on screens for 10 seasons, visited the ranch because it has the largest herd of camels in Canada on its land, according to the owner, Mathieu Dupont.
According to him, the film crew stayed at the ranch for two days and left on Thursday afternoon.
The Amazing Race Canada team would be called upon to visit four or five locations in Mauricie for filming.
This article pretty much confirms Xoruz's spec that a task involved camels at Dupont Ranch.
So teams were in Mauricie Wednesday-Thursday, meaning there's still likely a missing leg between Elora (Saturday) and Mauricie. Given there were likely 8 teams in Russell, we should be on either the F5 or F4 today in Maxville.
Perhaps they also visited La Mauricie National Park? Though with the snow in Quebec, perhaps not. I'd imagine that teams likely flew or took a train into Trois-Rivières.
-
Only Jon was in Elora on Saturday, so teams were there on Sunday.
-
Lets GO Twins and Wrestlers
-
Synthesizing yesterday's excellent sightings and detective work:
So, between Richmond, Penticton, Regina + Russell, Elora, and Mauricie (5 distinct locations), three teams - Sam & Brad (Father/Daughter), Olivia & Julia (Married F/F), and John & Connor - were eliminated. Unless they were all single-length leg, we burned the two NELS, and the race is returning to an eleven-leg format, I think Maanca's spec. below is onto something. It also means that we didn't miss a leg between Elora on Sunday the 5th and Mauricie on Wednesday-Thursday the 8th & 9th.
Given the back-to-back sightings in Richmond and Penticton, I'm going to relinquish my former position and assume that they were one leg - but two episodes. It would be fitting, from an editing perspective, to have Leg 3A in Richmond with 2 tasks and a U-Turn vote, teams fly to Penticton for a Roadblock and Detour, and Episode 3 ends with a cliffhanger before the results of the U-Turn are revealed.
That would then make:- Regina-Russell Leg 4 (Episode 5)
- Elora Leg 5 (Episode 6)
- Mauricie Leg 6 (Episode 7), and
- Cornwall-Maxville Leg 7 (Episode 8) with 6 teams remaining
Seeing as teams finished Leg 6 on Thursday and raced Leg 7 on Friday, I'm going to suggest that Quebec is our best bet for a KOR, assuming the "no non-eliminations" logic (and continuing the tradition of Quebec nearly always resulting in a NEL or KOR :funny:).
-
Well, US started the no Non-Eliminations with season 34, after Arun & Natalia were saved three times. Canada had a similar thing last year with Jermaine & Justin, who were a frustratingly underperforming team :P
From a production standpoint, I could see how they might be inspired to try it.
-
I lived in New Brunswick for a couple of years, but never made it up to Miramichi. I don't know much about the city itself but its right next to Kouchibouguac National Park, which is probably the second most famous park in the province outside of the Bay of Fundy. Besides that there's also probably a lot of Acadian stuff to be done.
-
Besides that there's also probably a lot of Acadian stuff to be done.
The city’s also called Canada's Irish Capital.
-
Regarding when the QC leg was filmed, it seems Jon was spotted at a restaurant in Cornwall on Tuesday night...
We know the Guelph leg was filmed on Sunday.
2 options:
- The Quebec leg was filmed on Tuesday, Jon was done with the pitstop and headed right away to Cornwall, but had 2 full days of rest and to film the b-roll. The only problem with this is that it seems from the Radio-Canada article that they filmed on that ranch on Wednesday-Thursday.
- Jon stoppped on his was to film the leg in Quebec city to eat in Cornwall but left, that night only to return on Thursday?

Yup! 2 of them in the F6

Stunami overheard a racer say Miramichi is leg 9. I thought it'd be the 8th.
So we did miss one somewhere. Maybe a second leg filmed in one day? (KOR)
-

Perhaps there was a leg after Elora? I know several speculated that Guelph/St. Jacobs could be visited...
It would mean we have a weird pattern with all these NELs in the middle of the season, with Leg 3 split into two episodes, a KOR on Leg 5, and likely NEL in Quebec, unless they made consecutive NELs.
The weirder thing is the Miramichi may be the penultimate leg. I thought 4 teams in the finale was a COVID fluke, so I'm not sure why TARCan is so keen to do it again. I'm also unsure as to why teams *know* the Race only has ten legs and that the finale will have 4 teams- I thought teams were surprised by both previously?
-
Perhaps the penultimate leg could have a double elimination.
-
Perhaps there was a leg after Elora? I know several speculated that Guelph/St. Jacobs could be visited...
Those are only 20 minutes from Elora, definitely possible they could have been visited as part of a KOR.
I grew up in this area and St. Jacobs comes to mind as a spot they might like to visit. It's Canada's largest community of Old Order Mennonites, they're very traditional and still drive horse and buggy on the roads (so expect tasks similar to PA on the first leg of Family Edition)
-
My gut is telling me the finale will be in St. John's, Newfoundland.
-It makes sense with the rest of the route
-To celebrate the 10th season, they started at S1's starting line. They could finish at its last Pit Stop.
-Easily accessible via Moncton or Halifax
Or since they never went to Alberta, second choice would be Edmonton. Since Calgary was just used last year.
-
Hopefully it is St. John’s! I’ll try to spot them haha
-
It should come as no surprise given the Irish flags and dancing, but the Cheese District, from which we got some Miramichi sightings, is across Water Street from the headquarters for the Miramichi Irish Festival.
-
Looks like both Colin & Matt and Tyson & Michael made it to Edmonton/the F4.
-
Or since they never went to Alberta, second choice would be Edmonton. Since Calgary was just used last year.
Well that part at least was right 😅
Does this look like the finale or F4? If the latter, I'm still thinking of St. John's as a potential final city, though Edmonton's airport also opens the possibility of the north (if the wildfires burning in Fort McMurray aren't a factor)
-
Not sure if it’ll be a factor but the weather here in St. John’s has been pretty foggy and rainy lately. It doesn’t look like that’ll change anytime soon
-
Looks like both Colin & Matt and Tyler & Michael made it to Edmonton/the F4. The Tyler streak continues!
That would be good but his name is Tyson, not Tyler

That’s also next to Constable Ezio Faraone Park. Thank you Bookworm. And thank you Kevin Martin.

So Michael & Tyson and Colin & Matt made it to F3. That leaves the third as either Taylor & Katie, Kevin & Gurleen or Lauren & Nicole.
No question Michael & Amari went out in Cornwall, they were 45 minutes after 5th place.
Frankly, I'm shocked to see Michael & Tyson again. They were the team who went 40 miles the wrong way and ended up in Nova Scotia. But that was in the evening, so they would have gotten to Miramichi and hit an HOO.
-
If Kevin was hanging out at the finish line’s restaurant when several sightings were around 8 PM, then he & Gurleen were likely eliminated in NB.

Both of the female female teams made it to the final four and the finale was four teams in the leg. Kevin and gurleen were eliminated in New Brunswick because they were active on social media accounts two days ago.

Me, too! This is incredible! This must be the first time in which multiple women's teams have made it to the end of a Canadian season!

I don't see a definitive boot order anywhere, but Kevin's team went out early then?

F5/F4. They went pretty far.
-
All right. Assuming that Regina/Russell was the F7 leg, I think I have a more rounded-out boot order:
11th: Eva & Trystenne
10th: Dorothy & Olus
9th: Brad & Sam/Connor & John
8th: Brad & Sam/Connor & John
7th: Julia & Olivia
6th: Michael & Amari
5th: Kevin & Gurleen
F4: Colin & Matt, Lauren & Nicole, Michael & Tyson, and Taylor & Katie
Honestly, I'm glad that it looks like Julia & Olivia get at least that far, since they look too strong early on to fall before Brad & Sam, who seem like a dysfunctional mess, and Connor & John, who look like John will give them plenty of weakness in the physical department.
-
Could Regina have been a whole leg on its own? The preview said nothing about Manitoba.
-
but if you look at the press release pictures, you can see Russell is also next episode!
-
There was also a shot of the Ukrainian dance Roadblock from Russell in the preview. It’s funny considering since Jon mainly talked about visiting his hometown when asked about the season’s locations in the preshow press.
-
So with 7 teams left and three boots would it make sense that one of the next 2 legs are NEL then the Cornwall/New Brunswick legs be the last two eliminations before the final?
-
Yes!
One of Guelps OR Trois-Rivières is NEL
I speculate that because we just had an NEL (even tho for me it was not a full leg, but they are counting the Vancouver-Richmond-Penticton as a leg that was nel) I would think Trois-Rivières is our NEL. And there is historically a lot of NEL in the Quebec province. But thats just spec
-
That is the math. We know we have 4 teams racing in the final leg (and who they are), and we have a general idea of when Kevin & Gurleen and Michael & Amari eliminations happened. The rest is spec and conjecture.
-
How is TARCan going to make this 11 episodes? Unless we either (a) missed a leg or (b) they're stretching one leg into two episodes (again), we're on track for only 9 legs and 10 episodes.

They did stretch a leg into two episodes-- specifically Leg 3.
Speculation for the remaining legs:
Leg 5: Guelph/Elora, ON
Leg 6: ?
Leg 7: TR/Shawinigan, QC
Leg 8: Cornwall and Maxville, ON
Leg 9: Miramichi, NB
Leg 10: Edmonton, AB
-
I think I understand now why Michael & Amari got 30 minutes behind everyone else in Cornwall. Probably happened at that stadium.
-
Also, Jon said in the preview for episode 8, "...For a spot in the semifinal" (when there's still 6 teams in the race)
Guess that confirms our speculation. Shortened season with a Final 4.

Is it shortened? Last season also had 10 legs, and the season before had a top 4. The only difference is that this time around, legs 3 and 4 were framed as a keep-on-racing situation.
-
10 episodes, 9 Pit Stops... that's seriously lame. I had hoped that we missed a leg somewhere, or that the increased cast size was for a "no non-eliminations" design, but instead it was just to provide for a F4 finale gimmick.
-
Adversely, I like that this season is being run with more of a sense of competitiveness over last year; everyone feels equally in it to win and everyone seems like a viable winner. On top of that, each leg feels highly variable; there's no cookie cutter format to each leg (some use no detour; some have two road blocks; some have none at all). Even the Assist seems better integrated. And more than that, it seems like there are less sponsors, possibly because Expedia is giving some really strong Pit Stop prizes. AND we're seeing more provinces this season.
I'm starting to understand less and less what viewers expect on TARCAN. A lot of people here seem to expect to get blood from a stone with Canadian programming or presume that something will change to unlock some version of the show that'll be better when, really, it's been in this format and without international legs for the better part of a decade now.
-
Final leg locations: Universiade Pavilion at UAB, Clover Bar Bridge (RB), Rogers Place, RAD Torque Raceway, Royal Alberta Museum, and Commonwealth Stadium (Finish Line).
-
I have feeling that Colin and Matt would win this season cause they have "winner editing".. or Taylor and Katie idk.

I would okay-ish with Colin & Matt, since at least they're not an alpha-male team and would thus be something different if they won. But Lauren & Nicole and Taylor & Katie are two of the strongest women's teams we've seen on this version in a long time. My heart is with one of their teams for the win next week.
Even with two wins, Michael & Tyson still feel like also-rans to me. Which I hope to be the case, because enough alpha-male teams have won this version.

i'm so agree to see another FF wins TARCAN... FF teams this season is so strong and fun. last five legs wins by FF teams. (and i think for first time, 3 leg in a row wins by different FF teams, what a record)
