OK, not an Intersection, just a reason to rent only 6 vans when releasing the teams in Igalo. Dubrovnik is never going to escape its association with Games of Thrones with the knight and fire breathing tasks. So they tweaked the Double Battle where the losing team gets to pick their opponents rather than continuing down a line. It did give teams a chance to get to know each other while drinking some product placement.

I knew that it probably wasn't close, but an hour! Guess they knew that finale would air during the Olympics between the Olympic flame task and finishing at the Olympic Stadium. I get wanting to change things up, but swapping the final memory challenge for a puzzle wasn't an improvement. It's genuinely crazy that all of the winners are women after three seasons. Congratulations to our newest winners. Even with an underwhelming finale, I attest that this was the best season of the three. It was a huge step in the right direction following the first two seasons.

Yeah, I think this season was best so far regarding pacing, editing etc. I think the Finland part of final episode reminded of earlier seasons, when it was difficult to catch up with other teams. Maria or Vilma said in an interview, that there were four legs, when the team that started the leg first was eliminated! That seems wild!

After all, casting choices were pretty good. I think they could've replaced two middle-aged woman teams with something else. Leave Armi&Blonde woman and replace the other middle-aged women with a dating couple/parents/two-males team. They needed the "fit male team" for this season, I think Millu&Karo and also Maria&Vilma were the sporty women teams of this season. However, I loved the age gap between Maria&Vilma.

In general, I liked the range of ages for this season, but ... I guess I was kinda hoping one more younger team, one more in their 20-30s? Half of the contestants were over 40 .... For my taste, TAR US Season 1 had the perfect balance between people with various backgrounds, ages and relationships between the team mates.

Season Finale

The whole season was pretty good, though the last episode was a bit lackluster? The final tasks, specially in Finland were not optional for final, since they were more walkthrough tasks. It is quite impossible to get ahead of someone, Maria&Vilma told in an interview that they arrived to the final mat one hour before Millu&Karo and two hours before Eke&Tomas. To be honest, I think this was clear for the viewers also, I bet it was difficult to edit so that it looks like Millu&Karo even had a slight chance.

Final episode's challenges in Greece were better.

Three years in a row, team of two female-blondes have won. I always thought that TAR USA had too many couples, but I think they should have more couples in this version. We've had one arguing and entertaining in the first season, and who else? Couples and siblings dynamics are usually the most entertaining.


Most entertaining couples were in the final episode: Maria&Vilma and Eke&Tomas. Other teams were quite easy to forget. I liked the goofy guy, Tuomas? Sieppi Siblings were nice. Countries and locations were great. Most of the tasks were at least decent. I think it was improvement, that there was not million eating & dancing tasks.

If the series continues, I wish they would have more difficult tasks in the Finland section. It was great, that they had two extreme tasks at the end, but maybe some trial&error, lengthy or learning-based tasks or something. Kid's puzzle as a final task seemed lazy and cheap.

The only leg that was never won by an all-male team on TAR38 was Leg 3 (Natalie & Stephanie); because even Jag & Jas were too good that they chose to let another team win a leg instead of them. If Jag & Jas didn't let Natalie & Stephanie take over the win from them and won the leg instead, the season would've had 100% of its leg wins coming from the all-male teams with only two of them (Jag & Jas and Tucker & Eric) ever winning legs in total. Plus, Jag & Jas would've tied the record with Rachel & Dave on having the most number of first place wins on a season (8 in total) which means they would've won 2/3 of the legs while Tucker & Eric won 1/3 of the legs.

I also didn't even realize that Omri was concealing his artificial limb for this leg. That's a rather interesting aspect, and it's even more fascinating to see how that will play out now that they won this leg.

It was surprising when he said that at the Pit Stop.

(Also I'm losing my mind because I could swear they did that remote-controlled skateboard task already on the race but I can't remember when for the life of me)
