Looks like no sign of any BB alums on this season! That's a relief!same as much as I love BB i don't need another BB team from BB20 and also now we know Jc on TAR is fake :conf:
*knockonwood*
Only 10 Teams? Do we have someone unaccounted for??That would be interesting if we had 10 teams only. I wouldn't mind it actually. Maybe they're doing a shorter Race ala TAR12 and TAR13 with just 11 Legs. That would allow them to squeeze both TAR31 and TAR32 on the air before June. TAR31 paired with CBB using the TAR30 schedule, then TAR32 airing late Feb-May?
Love the cast diversity! A lot of minorities this season!Yep i really hope so too FF's recently are not performing well in the Us edition with the exception of Kristi and Jen, I would love to see an FF winner cause in 30 seasons we only 3 so i really hope one wins
Hope its 4 FF teams and one takes the cake!

A night leg with a carnival task? Already more culturally relevant than the 25 premiere!
I didn't even realize casting had wrapped up for this season, and now I get surprised with a new country on the first leg. Bless you TAR.
And they might be in T&T for 2 legs? If Phil took an evening flight to Tobago yesterday ahead of the others that would make sense.
Trinidad and Tobago is considered part of the Lesser Antilles island chain in the Caribbean Sea.A night leg with a carnival task? Already more culturally relevant than the 25 premiere!
This 1st Leg is ticking a lot of boxes for me.
New Country
Night Leg
Culturally-relevant Task
Caribbean although Trinidad and Tobago are part of South America right?
I'm in a predicament becuase I want to stick around for contestant spoilers but I'm trying to go through TAR 32 with results unspoiled lol.Same, only here for contestants now, and gonna have to keep checking the locations thread only once leg 2 begins :escape
A night leg with a carnival task? Already more culturally relevant than the 25 premiere!A perfect start hope they can continue with this!
I really hope that these F/F teams are really competitive this season!
M/M overload again! :funny: But hey, at least these M/M's seem interesting!
i am cheering so hard for F/F asian american to win and i am asian Lol am I Biased? :lol:I really hope that these F/F teams are really competitive this season!

I'm leaning towards the F/F's My bets are on the 3 or 4 of them. We need an F/F to win again.
I have a felling this is a great year for asian americans to win a realty show first we have kaycee win 20 then we can have the M/F asian american or F/F asia american win :cheer:
i need them to be F/F and both asians lol :funny:I have a felling this is a great year for asian americans to win a realty show first we have kaycee win 20 then we can have the M/F asian american or F/F asia american win :cheer:
Tammy & Victor are Asian Americans who won TAR 14, so? Kat from Nat & Kat also won TAR 17.

We haven’t had a M/M team win in awhile so I wouldn’t mind seeing one of them win but five is a LOT so I hope the endgame isn’t a sausage fest

TAR30 had 5 M/M teams and none of them even made the final 3. same with TAR23. I agree I wouldn't mind a M/M win since it's been so long. The last was way back in TAR24!
4 more males than females this season. They almost always cast more MM teams than FF teams. It's 2018, casting needs to wake up. They are sexist, yes, let's say it, it's true.
Counting just HD seasons without season with returnees (12 seasons), we had 41 MM teams and only 29 FF teams. Is world population consisting of only 41% of women?
Why international versions had no problem cast 4 or even 5 (it's nothing unusual) FF teams, while TARUS casted 4 FF teams only two times while casting 4 or 5 MM teams 10 times (once again, not including returnee seasons). We had 5 MM teams in 40% of last 10 seasons.
Do you guys even remember what did last bunch of 5 MM teams in TAR30? I remember only Alec and Connor, the others were really boring and provided nothing special. The women are naturally more entertaining, I think, it's sad that TAR can't see it.
I am not ok with this. Rant is over.

The lack of sightings is driving me nuts. Can't find anything at all. :carryon:OMG as the producers trying to hide the teams from us so we are all spoiler-free and let us don't know who got elimnated and who is not  :naughty:

The first two legs seems promising on paper. I hope boot order will be good. I really need a sightings now to see which teams survived. :funny:

If the next leg is in fact in Bogotá, I'm actually glad we're going 4 legs in South America considering we didn't have any in 31.
That’s what this thread is for?Thank you!

stop complain
It's a little unbelievable route so far, but if Colombia is indeed Leg 4, I like it because it most likely means a westward route. Mid-Race Legs in Oceania and/or Asia haven't been done in a while? Usually either at the beginning or end of the Race.So true!!

SWITCH BACK DETOUR :woohoo:We don’t know that yet.
Watermelon switchback :cheer:

Not the watermelon Switchback I would have hoped for, though, lol
Watermelon switchback :cheer:But certainly no "We can see her whole a******" moment this time around :funny:
I'm gonna be upset if the one unknown team is one of the first three boots.I'm pretty sure all eleven teams are accounted for
They can make Manaus the best leg ever if they want, its a city like no others, and oh my please watermelon challenge from S20 again pleaseeeI cannot believe I got it right again

The Timeline & Spoiler Summary only has 10 teams so I assumed we never confirmed the other one. There's that one M/F with brown hair we only saw in the airport at Trinidad and Tobago. I'm confident that's the eleventh team
There was that news article Peach posted about the tourism bump in T&T. Wasn't the team in the picture the 11th? They don't look like the other ones.

We have only seen 10 of the 11.
WTF @ 2 switchbacks at one leg. Not fan of this. Is production that lazy to come with something new? Could this be a replecament leg?I like it! They’re two iconic tasks from a famously hard leg so it’ll be cool to see it again.
Increasingly worried for those FF teams >:(
Hoping we see those teams next!
:conf: Happy to see the indian team survived the first boot curse!!

If F/F's are within the 1st 3 Boots. It has S.28 and to some extent S.30 written all over it. Hoping those 2 unseen teams are the 2 F/F's.
Glad 2 FF made Leg 4!Yeah, I’m surprised that the orange guys and African-American guys are out already. They looked pretty strong!!
Surprised at the Orange MM being eliminated already. Thought they would go far............
I could still be NEL even with Phil going to the task. Production can only use the area for so long before they have to pack up so maybe Phil is going to let them end the leg, but tell them that it's an NEL.
Thanks for the detectives for finding out the location of one of the detours!! Thats where everything started...
I lived my dream.!!! I saw the race in ACTION.!!! Ive watched a clue been ripped in front of my eyes, i got a pic with Phil Keoghan.....what else could i ask for??
Im glad i brought some evidence for some much needed clarity about the race!!!
It wss just the best day of my LIFE.!!!!
I can't believe the yield is back. They must have seen TARAsia Season 5. I am so excited to see the yield and U-Turn in the same season. I am so happy. :conf: :cheer:But hopefully not in the same Leg. And not together on the penultimate Leg either. lol

Ok, so there is sad trend in last seasons (it began in TAR27 and then got worse) of female teams being eliminated early in the race and not placing higher than 7th.
TAR27 - 11th, 8th, 4th
TAR28 - 11th, 9th, 8th
TAR29 - 10th
TAR30 - 11th, 10th, 3rd
TAR31 - 9th, 8th, 7th
TAR32 - ???, 8th, ???
Out of 16 female teams in last 6 seasons, only 2 or 3 (depending on how far asian FF team'll make it) made it to 6th or higher place.
There is also another trend of allafroamerican teams being eliminated early in the race in last seasons.
TAR25 - 7th
TAR26 - 10th
TAR27 - 9th, 8th
TAR28 - 10th
TAR30 - 9th
TAR32 - 2 teams who didn't place better than 8th
I could still be NEL even with Phil going to the task. Production can only use the area for so long before they have to pack up so maybe Phil is going to let them end the leg, but tell them that it's an NEL.
Not happening, it would give that FF team time benefit for next leg because they couldn't navigate to the pit stop in this one.
So no Colombia?was hoping for Bogata :'(
I am thinking New Zealand will be back
I want this to happen:
It would be good having season without Europe, I think.

_________________SOME EXTRA INFO_______________
1. While Indian team was being interviewed, i think i heard the Yield thing.....not crystal clear, but i think the words that came out of Phil's mouth were that.
2. All the teams look so fiercely competitive, they're all frantic, fast and strong racers for what i could see.
3. In my opinion, i DON'T like re-use tasks....magic only works ONCE. And using TWO tasks from season 20 AGAIN? :groan:
4. Other thing i DIDN'T like its that i learned from the guy i talked to in the plaza (watermelon task) that they had the ENTIRE route weeks ago!!!! They knew exactly to go, the best route to get there and every team already had their taxi driver for them..!! I mean, WHYYYY...???? Let THEM figure out their own way, like it was in the gold days of TAR.! So pissed about that......

Why, why, WHY were the taxi drivers told ALL of the team's DESTINATIONS? ???Could be for security reason. We have had provided transportation leg before already, mostly in chaotic destinations (recent example is 30's Chiang Mai)
What's this rubbish?

France AGAIN :groan:Is it the destination or just a connection?
France AGAIN :groan:
Why Fance? They have Spain right there, with much more to see :'(
I'm okay with a leg in Paris, if it brings us to a cool place next: Luxembourg or in Africa (lots of flight to Africa from Charles de Gaule)
When was the last full leg in Paris? I remember 27 having some part of the leg there (but not the full leg)
Expectation: New Zealand
Reality: France
:furious:
Can't production even afford Nantes, Bordeaux, Toulouse, etc?
France again! :groan:France has suppressed Mainland China for visits already. France has now 11 visits verse Mainland China's 9
France is becoming like China... being visited too much! :res:
Since the weather is cold, I am thinking Southern Europe such as Italy (Sicily), Spain will be visited
Not really fan of rainy weather on TAR. What do you think is the next destination? I am predicting one of Germany/Austria/Netherlands.On the contrary, I personally wish we had more rainy Legs. lol

What Peach indicating seems to be Africa. Maybe the Sahara desert area?
Only 1 country in Europe, Schnauzers? Never, lol.
East sounds to me like a jump to Asia, including the ‘Stans. Paris would be a good hub to use toget there.

I don't think season 32 will have one country either. So maybe my guess we will have 2-3 European countries?
I find it odd that we only had 1 sighting in Paris. Strange. It's one of the most populous destinations in the world.
Would be nice. Shenshen tends to be right, but will wait for a little more confirmation before I celebrate :P
KAZAKHSTAN! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
Hoping for 1 more Central Asian countries coming up
On the other hand, there hasn’t been much in the Southern Hemisphere the last few seasons, so maybe it’s overdue.Legs in the southern Hemisphere in recent seasons :
The second half of the season can include Australia somewhere between Legs 8-10 rather than have it be the penultimate destination.

It can be flanked by India beforehand and Taiwan afterwards.
Why NZ instead of Australia when the latter is more due for a return?
I want a Canada leg to close
I am seriously pissed by the lack of sightings, ugh. What was the season with most and least sightings in social media era? TAR31 was great for sightings, I mean we have full boot order, lol. This season is the worst for sightings I remember.

Apparently, we have 4 legs left
I don't know if it's the current state of air travel being more normalized, mitigating the hoop jumping, but I do know most travel workers and airport officials in this age won't tolerate the stuff that happened on TAR more than a decade ago like seat availability upsales, petty ticket agents, "secret" faster flights, frequent overbooking (this still occurs but less often nowadays), and our very memorable bickering matches. People and brands now are hypersensitive about their reputation on TV, especially with all the controversy surrounding airlines United*ahem*, so I feel like the new editing for the show avoiding pre-destination footage could be related. Last time I clearly remember this type of drama was during TAR22-23 between the Frankfurt Airport of Doom for Abbie & Ryan and the Beekmans, and Chester & Ephraim somehow being sold tickets on the wrong flight - that might have been the tipping point. I haven't seen anything like this since, and again, those seasons were also BARE MINIMAL with pre-destination footage. It's all about tasks nowadays...
I am missing good old TAR with airport and navigation drama.
I agree with this wholeheartedly, I liked how in the older seasons teams were required to get their own airplane tickets for every leg they had to fly somewhere. Now production buys plane tickets for every team and it is super annoying. What ever happened to the suspense of your favorite team not making a flight. What happened to the days where teams had to look for the earliest possible flight to the next location. Now the show is about doing silly tasks at every location. I don't mind if the tasks are culturally relevant, but at least mix it with travel drama. Remember the TAR 5 Russia episode, a quarter of the episode was teams finding flights form Buenos Aires to St. Petersburg, and the last quarter of the episode focused on the caviar task heavily. Why can't we have episodes like that anymore that has the best of both worlds.
Why NZ instead of Australia when the latter is more due for a return?
I think Peach said something about maybe Germany?
My options for Legs 9 to 11, all options are NOT TRUE, just my guesses.
OPTION A:
Leg 9: Kazakhstan to Myanmar or Cambodia
Leg 10: Myanmar or Cambodia
Leg 11: Myanmar or Cambodia to South Korea
OPTION B:
Leg 9: Kazakhstan to Malaysia or Indonesia
Leg 10: Malaysia or Indonesia to Australia
Leg 11: Australia
OPTION C:
Leg 9: Kazakhstan to Thailand
Leg 10: Thailand to South Korea
Leg 11: South Korea
I would love a South Korea visit, but I hate that they've always been with 4 teams racing only, so I'd really like Oceania to end it this time. How cool would it be to go to Australia/NZ and then visit another new island nation before heading back to US?

Germany, I don't mind. It has been last visited 6 Seasons ago. It's one of the 6 overused countries that I like. They could have swapped the Paris leg for a Finland one.
Berlin :conf:

I agree on this. They could have done Berlin on the 5th leg and Helsinki or other parts of Finland on Leg 6. Finland has no pit stops so far even though it was visited before.
So I haven't been here for a while and decided to check out what was brewing with the route. When I saw the Yield symbol, let's just say I jumped. :gnome

I do want to see teams buying tickets THEMSELVES though where flights are always open season. If it's a city where airplanes are limited, then yes, feel free to get teams tickets so they won't be stuck for two days (e.g. the Accra, Ghana to Kiruna, Sweden flight in TAR17). But if it's like Paris-Charles de Gaulle from Asuncion, another relatively large int'l airport, that's where teams should be able to DIY their journey regardless of flight availability since connection flights are frequent. Take them to an internet cafe or travel agency like the good ol' times if the airport can't be shown. I know this show can squeeze in these moments because they've done it countless times before, 17 full seasons worth of pre-destination hype, before going rogue on it. And I hope they can remember this old-as-day mantra:
"Focus on the journey, not the destination"
Agree with you TARUSAfan @ this being the least spoiled modern season.
It's not fun, tbh. I am searching hashtags everywhere and no sightings, so frustrating. Last season was fun. We had sightings of teams every leg, we thought teams were done at one point and then they appeared in next leg. It was exciting.
7 legs in and only what we have is Paraguay leg and pit stop photo of bearded MM team in Paris this season. I always got my hopes up when I see new post in LS thread only to found out that it's random comment or something not that interesting like photo of Phil, lol.
:funny: It is probably SO MUCH FUN for production!! :hfive:Love/hate relationships of early findings. :funny: Love that we do get to see where teams are traveling to, but also thrilled to know that production is keeping the route more under wraps this time around. More surprises when we do get to see it on TV.
I love the search, but yes it is more fun to get some glimpses into the fun to come!!
This season route and spoiler wise has been a lot like 20. Hoping we get some stuff for end game, but if they go to India again I'm not hopeful :lol3:
Was so Happy with the Route but, og they have 2 legs in Almaty it is to Much :dickif not og sorry
Was so Happy with the Route but, og they have 2 legs in Almaty it is to Much :dickI dunno, it’s been awhile since the race has been to Kazakhstan so it’ll be cool to see it again for a couple of episodes
I'm not complaining considering they've only been to Kazakhstan once. The only concern I have whenever TAR does two legs in one location is the tendency that the legs have almost an identical feel. I prefer legs that highlight two different aspects of a city. That’s super true! Sometimes it feels like it’s just a double leg instead of two distinct legs
A winter leg in Central Asia. I'll take it. I agree that Almaty x2 is too much. They could have gone to Astana or maybe a new country Kyrgyzstan or Uzbekistan.Do they have travel bans in those two countries? If so, it might explain why we haven't hit either of them yet.
I agree, 2 legs in Almaty is too much, the second one should've been in Bishkek or Tashkent, or have the first leg be in Astana, then the second one be in Almaty.

Another guess from me:Maldives could be Amazing! Fingers crosed.
OPTION D:
Leg 9: Kazakhstan to Maldives
Leg 10: Maldives to Australia
Leg 11: Australia to New Zealand
Its interesting how mf teams make it far in 5 mm team seasons.
I'm doubting the Korea and Nawlins predictions because a penultimate-finale combination of Taiwan and any given West Coast city has already occurred during 12.
India again... :groan: :res:The last visit was 5 seasons and more than 3 years ago, why are you bitching?

Ohhh I love when they go to India but please no China for legs 10 and 11, go to Oceania and visit a new country and New Zealand, :jam:

Why not Australia when it's more overdue?
Maybe we will have a Guam or Hawaii penultimate for surprise :luvya:
We can have more than one US legs indeed. Just Hawaii has been served as finish line twice doesn't mean it cannot be penultimateMaybe we will have a Guam or Hawaii penultimate for surprise :luvya:
Wouldn't Hawaii be a final leg, not a penultimate?
India is almost guaranteed to be two legs. Let alone most likely an East asia penultimate leg again.

No, because both Brazil and Kazakhstan already have doubles: Leg 10 can easily be in Cambodia.
I think Singapore and Hong Kong are the 2 connection airport we have looked into
They had previous record that
they head to Japan after India (like S12 did)
Or they head to NZ after India (like S5 did)
In which they always make connections in these 2 cities
I am thinking Singapore has the highest possibility
Finally more India.Yes Hope they go to Udaipur also!
Honestly I'd be happy with anything except Japan, HK or Vietnam. Australia, Fiji or Taiwan would be nice.

Is India leg over? No sightings again? :'(I think we got pretty unlucky with the route this season. It's a lot of countries that are generally low on sightings and don't have a lot of TAR fans. Hopefully we can get sightings back when we're in the US!
India's a tough one :(

In the history of 31 seasons, only 3 and 25 have no East Asia visits.
Last time Vist china was 30 so i think China next
I know people like to crap on 28 because of the focus on Tyler & Korey, which is valid, but it has one of the most solid routes of the 20s and some great and memorable tasks. We got three new countries and none of the legs felt half-assed. Sorry about my little rant lolLast time Vist china was 30 so i think China next
New city in China like how the production surprised us with Shenzhen since S28.
Thanks for correcting :groan:In the history of 31 seasons, only 3 and 25 have no East Asia visits.

I would like to see some comments on 'thinking the unthinkable'. Could the lack of spoilers be because people have become increasingly uninterested in TAR? Maybe people see travelers with backpacks and camera crews and react by thinking there is TAR who cares?I just think that there aren’t as many TAR fans in South America and the Asian countries visited. When we have Europe heavy seasons, I think it’s easier to get sightings because there are more English speakers and fans

There's no doubt about that. Nobody can justify that it's not.
Really bad season for spoilers. :groan:

Maybe people did see and notice the flock of racers and film quality cameras, but probably didn't care enough to share on social media. That's usually the case with all live updating. Usually when there is an event hosted at a location, people will stop and stare (e.g. Frites duel last season). When travelers are jumping from place to place, people don't really think much of it.
Is leg 10 over? Who knows. I am totally expecting no sightings until return to US.

Same. I'm ready to see who made the top 3 and how wrong my prediction is :funny:

I am like 99% sure that James & Will will be in F3, I would be SHOCKED if they weren't.
There will be at least 1 MF team in F3 because this is TARUS, so my guess is indian MF.
3rd team - beards.
After years of sleuthing, Cambodia appears for the first time in HD-era. I am relieved right now.
B:) B:)The fact that we have 5 teams at leg 10 ,means we have the NELs all wrong and it also proves Leg 4 was Not a NEL which means Pink FF were toast..and I guess leg 7 wasn't a NEL :ghug:.someone needs to tell us what the order of NELs was, coz they don't add up...so if leg 10 is EL, they remain 4 ,and leg 11 could cater for the Last NEL. Means leg 12 will have a final 4 . That would be so obvious and production ain't that obvious. We have The N.E.Ls wrong. hope we get clarity :amen: :welcome: :dickWhy can't leg eleven just be the final elimination leg?
Leg 10 can easily be in Cambodia.
Are we just on leg 10 yet? I thought that we missed them and would just find it in the finale :didimiss:Given the pace of filming this season, I’m not surprised.
Siem Reap or Ipoh for the tenth leg followed by Taipei or Busan for the penultimate.
Coz they have 3 NELs in one season and according to this platform,we have had only 2 between leg 1 and leg 10 .The order of NEL may be wrongB:) B:)The fact that we have 5 teams at leg 10 ,means we have the NELs all wrong and it also proves Leg 4 was Not a NEL which means Pink FF were toast..and I guess leg 7 wasn't a NEL :ghug:.someone needs to tell us what the order of NELs was, coz they don't add up...so if leg 10 is EL, they remain 4 ,and leg 11 could cater for the Last NEL. You are making a lot of weird assumptions. What's wrong with legs 4, 6 and 8/9/10 being NELs, and why can't it be the case according to you?
Leg 7 was NEL
I was ecastatic and so grateful that this Cambodia one was found but if it were last season, I’d be disappointed that this was the only sighting xD
I don't care where they go for leg 11 as long as we'll get sightings of F4. :funny:
Do you think 11th leg is happening tomorrow?
All F/Fs out before F6 just like Reality Clash!
TBH, Tiffany and Krista's performance on race was quite bad. Their average placing was 5.27, which means somehow they were bottom-godness all the way to the end :funny:All F/Fs out before F6 just like Reality Clash!
It seals the fate of the last F/F Team. Black-Shirt F/F Team came in 7th while the Blondes at 8th. :furious: :groan: :'( :whoop: They gave me me hope that they'll make it far due to them placing in the Top 3 in Paraguay.
Team Mom & Dad were seen in Kazakhstan, their backpacks match the Pit Stop with Phil & the Kazakh Greeter 6th place.
Casting better get sports-related Teams for F/F's in S.33. Higher chance of making the F5 =Kristi & Jen (Professional Skiers), Kym & Alli (Urban Bike Racers) & Tiffany & Krista (Cheerleaders).
All M/M finale to cement this season as the worst since 24!

All M/M finale to cement this season as the worst since 24!That is so dramatic. We know NOTHING about these teams except for their names for a couple. What if the F/F teams were super bitchy or annoying this season and we’ll be glad they left early when the season airs? The M/M teams could have amazing personalities and be the fan favorites. I’m all for dominant F/F teams but don’t judge a book by its cover! :D

This final five looks so diverse. I love it!
This final five looks so diverse. I love it!
Same. Really Interesting to see minorities at the top again.
Would like to see my winner pick (asian red mf) take it because the last time an Asian team won was S14.

Technically the Indian team are also Asian. I'm glad they reach this far. :cheer:
So dissapointed to see FF teams not placing higher than 7th place again. My interest in this season is over, tbh. I always rooting for FF teams, parent & child teams and old teams to make it far. I hope remaining teams will be fun, but historically, seasons with alpha males endgame...
Now watch this season to be won by MF team anyway, 7th time in a row. And honestly, I am so rooting for it. :) That's what production deserve for casting 5 MM teams.
This route is AMAZING, maybe its my favorite of all time, Manaus will be just awesome, I cannot wait for it, I would just change the european countrys for Australia and New Zealand too, but besides it I just loved sooo much :bump: :bump:
Manila penultimate Leg?!Could have been worse
:groan: :dick :'(
Manila penultimate Leg?!Would you rather a Hong Kong or China penultimate leg?
:groan: :dick :'(
Yes. Because I'm one of the annoying people who keep harping on about how the Philippines (and South Korea) need to be visited on a westward route (early Legs). To have more than five or more teams racing in those countries for a change. No more than 4 teams have ever raced in the same Leg in either the Philippines or South Korea over the four visits TARUS has had. And now five visits including TAR32.Manila penultimate Leg?!Would you rather a Hong Kong or China penultimate leg?
:groan: :dick :'(
The producers of TAR don't know that Oceania exists...
Manila? Naah :groan:
There are so many places in the Philippines that are better than Manila and those places are more cultural.

I actually like this route, my only comment is Paris, France. Should have been a different European country that is not overused.

It looks like similar cost for plane tickets/logistics if they had done USA>Trindad & Tobago>Brazil>Paraguay>Philippines>Cambodia>India>Kazakhstan>Germany>France>USA instead. >:(
Will & James are very surprising. I expected them to be an early boot. I get Joey (of Joey & Meghan) vibes from them
Will & James are very surprising. I expected them to be an early boot. I get Joey (of Joey & Meghan) vibes from them
On the basis of the obvious skill set they had going into this, extensive international travel while backpacking and their knowledge of TAR aren’t guarantees, but it would be hard to ignore them as contenders unless they make a massive error somewhere. Without knowing anything about nine of the ten other teams, analogous to what we saw at the start of TAR 30, I felt, based on Cody’s experiences overseas in the military and his familiarity with the early seasons and his demonstrated skill set on BB19, were my favorites to win. But I did sample their channel on YouTube, and dealing with locals should not have been an issue for them. Will & James are very surprising. I expected them to be an early boot. I get Joey (of Joey & Meghan) vibes from them
It was so obvioooous and predictable that they will make far for me, I got huge Sam & Paul (TARCAN5) vibes from them. They are athletic, smart, travel experienced, know the show very well and pretty sure they actually prepared for this, I mean really prepared, lol. They will win this thing, mark my words. :)
I am surprised that asian MF maked F3, didn't expect it. What do you guys think their relationship is? Siblings? Dating couple?
Still could not accept the fact we had a Manila penultimate leg. It was out of the blue. I did not expect that. Do we get drama again? All Philippines Legs on US TAR had some sort of drama and suspense.
:conf: :luvya:
Fully expecting the M/F team to win since M/F teams seem to be the only teams able to win these days lol. Rooting for one of the other two to pull off an upset and win for a refreshing change of pace though!
Im only surprised that the two teams that were IDed on the first day are still there.
As to Phil, is this a KOR situation? Its otherwise is hard to figure out unless a 13th leg has returned and Manila is hosting two legs.
No KOR in Manila... apparently they did a Pitstart AND a Pitstop at the same place. Weird flex but ok hahahaHuh, trying to outdo that Red Rock Amphitheatre stunt. :funny:

Seeing the locations and tasks for Manila, it kind of feels like a replacement Leg.I agree. Feeding horses? Pit start and pit stop at the same place? It seems kind of haphazardly thrown together.

I hope we will get TAR25/TAR29 style mat photo tomorrow to know order of first five teams eliminated, lol.
is this second time for New OrleansYes, it was a Pit Stop during the Family Edition but I like to pretend that season never happened.
This is New Orleans’ first appearance as a start or final leg.
Another night finale...❤️
I'm excited for the New Orleans Finale. It was only visited once in the underrated Family Edition, but just for a Pit Stop. I hope they do a Switchback location to the Preservation Hall:yes:
I hope we will get TAR25/TAR29 style mat photo tomorrow to know order of first five teams eliminated, lol.
Reminder: POSTING THE FINAL 3 FINISH ORDER OR A MAT PHOTO HERE RESULTS IN AN IMMEDIATE BANNING.
WE DO NOT REVEAL THE FINAL 3 ORDER.
PLEASE BE VERY AWARE OF THIS AND READ THE RULES.
TAR31's was not mat arrival order. That was only the order when teams departed from the last task to the finish line. Placement can still be changed because of the transportation, so the case is a little bit different I guess.I hope we will get TAR25/TAR29 style mat photo tomorrow to know order of first five teams eliminated, lol.

Not to nitpick but didn't that happen with Season 31 right as it ended?

So we got professional volleyball players, NFL players, and Olympic athletes. Is this another season like TAR30???
American Sukhi/Jinder almost tied their Canadian predecessors' record!
Lmao we were calling that young couple “Mom and Dad”

Amazing Route this time. And New Orleans as Final City :cheer:. The only thing i Hate is 2 legs in Almaty!
Maybe their is no theme it’s just maybe some teams they casted coincidentally have a athletic background, not every season after 28 has to have a themeI completely agree! Will & James travel a lot but they’re not athletes. Alana’s a poet, Aparna’s an engineer, and Patrick is a realtor. 25 had a few athlete teams but it had no casting gimmick. I think it’s just a normal season

Just think 2 legs is overkill, like they did 2 legs in New Delhi in Season 13.Amazing Route this time. And New Orleans as Final City :cheer:. The only thing i Hate is 2 legs in Almaty!
Why? Snow legs in an undervisited country!
With CBS' scheduling, I just feel bad for this cast in that they might have to wait until almost 2020 before they can tell a soul that they're on the race :lol:Oh true. All those Travelocity vouchers won over the course of waiting are going to :cmas10.
Lmao we were calling that young couple “Mom and Dad”
What's worse? That or mistaking beach volleyball players for axe throwers? :funny:
I've always wanted a brother/sister team. It has been long ago since we last had 1. Now we have an American version of Sukhi & Jinder.Last Brother / sister we had was already 19's Justin & Jennifer?
:conf:
New Orleans would work better in daylight, imo.

Well done, Peach :) Methinks you've earned a vacation of your own after all this live TAR as of late.Agreed!
Only one double leg :o when was the last time that happened?!
So excited for Berlin
Overall I love this route with the exception of Paris & Manila. (would've prefered another Filipino region). Also a second leg in another part of Kakakhstan or Central Asia instead of Almaty.
So excited for Berlin & India.
Route is really good, I just wish the cast was more gender balanced, I am afraid this will be another missed opportunity like with TAR28 route because of cast.

Yes, one of the M/Ms should have been replaced by a F/F.
I love this new trend of decreasing amount of double legs. We had only 2 in TAR30 & TAR31, and now only 1? :cheer: TAR33 season without double leg? :D

I mean only 3 females in F6? This happened only in TAR24, and then two times in a row in TAR31 and this season. Do you think they will cast more females for TAR33 because of this? I hope so...

Not that I'm against casting more females, and I can agree that 5 M/M's is overkill, but casting more females simply because the F/F teams they've cast recently have generally gotten eliminated very early reeks of desperation to me. It does nothing if the extra F/F team is just as bad as the others. I think they simply (or not so simply) need to find stronger F/F teams ala Kristi and Jen, Kym and Alli, etc.

Hoping Victoria/Michelle were so good they got U-Turned or something :lol:Haha, now that I think about this, the only FFs I remember being U-Turned out of the game are Jamie & Cara in S18 and Nicky & Kim in S23. Have there been others?

Kisha & Jen were U-Turned during their bathroom break leg. Remember Tammy & Victor autographing "Sorry, we can't beat you in a foot race :2hearts:" on their picture? :funny:Hoping Victoria/Michelle were so good they got U-Turned or something :lol:Haha, now that I think about this, the only FFs I remember being U-Turned out of the game are Jamie & Cara in S18 and Nicky & Kim in S23. Technically Jamie & Cara were not u-turned out of the race, they where eliminated because they fell behind at the roadblock.
What're the odds that this regression shows up during Reality Clash a la Blind Date Edition's penultimate leg twist already appearing the season prior?Ooh. I wonder if this is possible.
Whoops just spoiled myself of the possible boot order even though I had forgotten it :groan: but ew, 3/4 of the F4 is M/M?
Why do so many people on here hate M/M teams?
Why do so many people on here hate M/M teams?
Why do so many people on here hate M/M teams?
Because many M/M teams tend to be boring... and they cast so many of them at once :groan:Why do so many people on here hate M/M teams?
Because they're mad that most F/F teams are flops and that there aren't enough of them cast. Rooting against F/F teams for being female is considered sexist tho. It's a societal double standard tbh.

For instance:
TAR 23
1. Leo & Jamal
2. Tim & Danny
3. Brandon & Adam
4. Chester & Ephraim
5. Rowan & Shane
TAR 30
1. Alex & Connor
2. Eric & Daniel
3. Trevor & Chris
4. Joey & Tim
5. Cedric & Shawn
When S30 was airing, I don't think I ever learned all of the M/M teams' names lol... because they're that boring.
Not all of them are boring, though: out of all the seasons I've watched, I liked Michael & Kevin, Bopper & Mark, Joey Fitness & Danny, Jaymes & James, Tanner & Josh, Leo & Jamal, Matt & Redmond, and Alex & Connor
Now of course, S32 hasn't aired yet. Hoping these M/M teams are entertaining at least!
Wdym "bit of a generalization" lol it's... my opinion?
And I don't root for F/F teams regardless, lol. I could name boring F/F teams off the top of my head as well: Caitlin & Brittany, Mona & Beth, Ally & Ashley, Amy & Maya, and Kristi & Jen.
The general trend for me PERSONALLY is that M/M teams are usually on the boring side and F/F teams are more entertaining. So when they cast 5 M/M teams in a season, that's not something I necessarily wanna see. But as I've already said said, 32 hasn't aired yet. Hoping these M/M teams are entertaining at least!
and sidenote: I oddly liked Eric & Daniel, probably because they were so regular and normal, something that seems so rare in TAR casting these days.
Part of me was hoping that the last elimination was the Asian couple, both for the irony as well as the rationale for writing this season off as a TARCAN3-style disaster.
100% agreed. sorry for getting so defensive lolWdym "bit of a generalization" lol it's... my opinion?

I guess by generalization, I mean taking past opinions and automatically suspecting future teams of being that way. Not to say that I always root for M/M teams (depends on the cast but I usually end up rooting for an M/F team, and I'm even rooting for Rachel and Elissa in S31), I'm just generally saying that it's pretty dumb for people to write off M/M teams from the jump just because they're M/M teams. You, in particular, said you are keeping an open mind for S32, so I respect that and what I just said isn't directed at you in that case. Sidenote: there are definitely a lot of ppl people that will root for F/F teams regardless of who they are/how boring they are lol. There are also people who will root against M/M teams regardless of how boring/not boring they are.
The only thing I am going to moan about right now are the locations of the new season, which seem very been there, done that or just not interesting compared with past seasons.
Most of the seasons since TAR18 have had at least great destinations but I just felt disappointed when I saw the spoiler list. A part of it for me is the fact that TAR still haven't visited most of Eastern Europe (Slovenia, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Albania) and Australia and New Zealand are barely touched, most likely due to budgeting.

How do you mean? T&T, Bogotá, Manaus, Hyderabad, & New Orleans are getting visited for the first time. Plus, we’ve only been to Paraguay & Kazakhstan once and Cambodia and Philippines twice!

Too much South America, same European countries as always and not enough and too much Asia. The only saving grace for me is Kazakhstan in all honesty.

How is there too much South America? There’s only 3 legs. Same as Seasons 5, 13, 16, 20, & 27.
it does hit me with curiosity that Philippines never get visited outside the last two/penultimate leg in its respective seasons yet... any idea why? Both Philippines and South Korea, no more than 4 teams have ever raced in either country at the same time.
I'm kinda looking forward to this route more that 31 :duno:
I was really hoping to watch the premiere. Sucks that it got delayed.
Now we need to hope the promotions team at CBS takes this seriously and nabs a lot of viewers for this comeback season when time comes (4 weeks prior instead of 2 ideally). The new logo gives me promise.I was really hoping to watch the premiere. Sucks that it got delayed.
Disappointing but WAY better for TAR as a whole to nab a prime Fall spot~~
It's embrassing that canadian channel gave us TAR32 promo sooner than CBS. CBS has nothing new to air this fall except of TAR but instead of promoting it they continue to threat it as ****. Casuals probably have no idea season will be airing in 3 weeks.:groan: The Race NEEDS the decent amount of promo that Love Island has been getting.

Its embarrassing that CTV screwed up and released a promo before the cast reveal. Clearly this was an error.
Please lets not attack CBS unless there is a real issue.
They generally don't do a reveal until 3 weeks ish before. My guess is the publicity starts soon.
I really hope the editing for this season is at least adrenaline-pumping. I immediately lost hope in that with the clips of Starting Line banter between teams. Glad they showed this in the preview instead of leaving it all for the premiere. :faint: I dislike the unneeded conversations when teams are lined up and ready to go. The premiere for last season was so dragged out because of this.Yes, I hope that wasn't an actual clip from the episode and that they released it now because it will NOT be in the actual premiere.
I just realized, how weird would it have been if Ford, for example, were still a sponsor and they were to promote a brand new 2019 Ford model on the show only for it to air in 2020 now when there's 2021 models already!
Or a new Snapple flavor that would be released to coincide with the show's airing, but it ending up getting delayed two years! Crazy!lol

Maybe the second delay was caused by Travelocity saying no to airing their brand during peak COVID numbers... something to think about. They got multiple prizes lined up throughout the season and TAR and Travelocity benefit off of each other. If one says no, the other can't go.I just realized, how weird would it have been if Ford, for example, were still a sponsor and they were to promote a brand new 2019 Ford model on the show only for it to air in 2020 now when there's 2021 models already!

I have been watching Big Brother and Love Island live.My bet is that they air just one abridged ad at 5:00 AM Central on the day of the premiere. :groan:
Not a single TAR ad. And we are 2 weeks away.
CBS truly loves us.
I’m sure there’s going to be a disclaimer on trip prize legs about how the show was filmed pre pandemic. Something like “This season was filmed before the outbreak of COVID-19. Travelocity and CBS caution you to follow the CDC’s guidelines when it comes to international travel.”
"This episode was recorded prior to the outbreak of COVID-19. Travel prizes in regions affected by COVID-19 may be fulfilled with alternative arrangements. For more information on COVID-19, please visit the Centers for Disease Control's website."
I wonder if they'll put a disclaimer on all the episodes.....

What kind?

From the previews, it seems like TAR kept the same editors from Tough As Nails where some contestants were introduced at the start, and some weren't even formally introduced until more than halfway through the premiere (really, near the Overtime challenges). I hope this isn't the case and they give everyone a fair intro before flying off to Port of Spain.
Not exactly. They've kept changing its arrangements until season 30, but it's more apparent now of the formula they're sticking to. For me at least. :duno:From the previews, it seems like TAR kept the same editors from Tough As Nails where some contestants were introduced at the start, and some weren't even formally introduced until more than halfway through the premiere (really, near the Overtime challenges). That's not just Tough as Nails though? That's been a standard since TAR26 lol
Will & James are making it so obvious to casual viewers that they make it far. They're super, super active on the TAR Instagram page and even released a YouTube video. Not saying no other racer has ever done the latter before.
Lol I think people would be more suspicious if James wasn't overly excited. This cast in general is pretty active and vocal about the show, I wouldn't see James and Will as an exception.

For what it's worth, I'd say Will and James are the most active & savvy on social media out of us all! They've been YouTubing since long before the race. And James is a SUPER superfan. And Will is a wizard with his video editing.
More generally, I don't think there's much correlation between social excitement and "making it far" among our cast. Every single team, from first to last, is so excited after two years; and yet some of us are just more inclined to hype the race.
But I can't say what a casual fan would think, because I'm hopelessly biased!
💚
I will say I watched the premiere screener and it’s a lot of fun! Feels very old school Race. #TAR #TAR32
This is awesome to hear, thanks Leo! I think I definitely underestimated how strong of a bond a TAR cast is when the time between filming and premiering is so far apart. There's visibly more interaction between racers and fans preseason than I've seen in all past seasons, and honestly, it's refreshing and exponentially more exciting to feel all the love.Lol I think people would be more suspicious if James wasn't overly excited. Apparently they've shown the premiere to journalists.

Well here's hoping it really is old school Race and not just because the show's been gone for too long :conf:
This. Hoping they meant old-school as in TAR11-17 with that level of storyboarding.Apparently they've shown the premiere to journalists. If it is that level of old school that I’ve been urging since around TaR 19, then I will be immensely pleased.

Just based on the preview clips, I'm kinda sad they didn't update or freshen up the graphics and stuff considering they had two years to do so. :lol:Actually, they didn’t have two years, they didn’t have one calendar year.As on off the shelf standby, post production had to be ready as soon as season 31 finished airing. This season was delayed twice because of the pandemic and the need to use it in place of Survivor. Now season 33 with the lengthy production hold, might support such a updating, refreshening. But not this season
They took hashtags away. That is more than welcome change as far as the chyrons go.
Don't see what the fuss is with new graphics, not everything has to change all the time, and TAR doesn't usually shake things up in presentation until after around 6-8 seasons, if not more. The last (and current uniform) to have a shakeup of sorts was 27's chyrons with the yellow font and plane.

Honestly I'm surprised at people acting like Kellie and LaVonne were a strong team that was screwed over. They never seemed to do that well at any task (except for the circus roadblock that 9/10 teams did well at)They had a lot of potential. The tasks in Colombia were so linear so nobody really performed good or bad that leg and they were screwed up by their dyslexia in Tobago. It wasn't really their fault they did bad and I think they could've done a lot better on a different season

The news that a F/F could make it as far as Leg 9, only to find out it can't be Mich/Vic is upsetting... cue "Curb Your Enthusiasm" music for the prospective robbed goddessesSo far the blondes have not much contribution to the episodes :duno: Hope they can shine during tomorrow episode
Why can't the actual show look this good, visually? Like, I don't know what they do to it. I'm no expert at video editing. But color grading, frame rates, whatever it is, I wish TARUS looked more like this (TARAu does). It just looks more cinematic.

While, yes, there is no proof that Michelle and Victoria even make it to Germany... there is also no proof that they didn't not make it to Germany either? They could have easily maybe just been hidden and not included in the promos.TAR 30 leg 4 / leg 5 were also broadcasted in double episodes, and both were elimination legs. Also, we have had double episodes in the past which the 2nd hour is a NEL / KOR before (TAR 29 Leg 4 / leg 5).
So I'm just going to continue to believe that we get:
~Leg 3: Brazil → Colombia, Frank and Jerry out, 9 → 8
~Leg 4: Colombia → Paraguay, non-elimination, 8 → 8 [DOUBLE EPISODE]
~Leg 5: Paraguay → France, keep-on-racing, 8 → 8 [DOUBLE EPISODE]
~Leg 6: France → Germany, Kaylynn and Haley out, 8 → 7
~Leg 7: Germany → Kazakhstan, non-elimination, 7 → 7 [DOUBLE EPISODE]
~Leg 8: Kazakhstan → India, Leo and Alana out, 7 → 6 [DOUBLE EPISODE]
~Leg 9: India (2), Michelle and Victoria out, 6 → 5
Is this purely delusional? Probably. BUT... it might just happen. CBS scheduled legs 4/5 to air together, which might make sense if they wanted to get both of the back-to-back non-elimination/keep-on-racing's out of the way. Then they also scheduled legs 7/8 to air together, which might make sense if one of those is also the final non-elimination leg. Kazakhstan being the non-elimination also makes sense from the Speed Bump sighting there IF they actually did the Speed Bump in leg 8 but BEFORE they left for India. It's extremely unlikely... but not impossible.
Realistically, we're gonna get Michelle/Victoria out in leg 5 in 8th place. Then Kaylynn/Haley out in leg 7 in 7th place. BUT... what doesn't make sense is, if leg 6 is a non-elimination like what is being speculated (the Speed Bump in leg 7 is thought to be from a leg 6 non-elimination) then why is CBS airing leg 6 as a standalone episode, yet airing legs 7/8 together? That doesn't make any sense whatsoever... they usually only double up on non-eliminations. So maybe my theory that leg 7 in Kazakhstan was actually the non-elimination and the sighted Speed Bump found there WAS for leg 8, but simply just for before they left to India, might actually be correct?
This is a mess of speculation but basically... I'm preparing for the worst but delusionally hoping for the best! #MichelleAndVictoriaToMakeLeg9 #AtLeastKaylynnAndHaleyToMakeLeg9

Does the Paraguay leg seem a little lazy in the leg design department? They've only been to this country and city once before, and the Detour is a switchback of two tasks from the first visit.
Kinda like Czech Republic re-using the Kafka phones the second time.
It's one of the instances where uninspiring Leg design (at least the Detour, the bottle dance was always fantastic) was exponentially better when filming/on TV.Does the Paraguay leg seem a little lazy in the leg design department? See it more as a throwback or callback to TAR history rather than laziness. Honestly don't mind it because TAR20 Paraguay is easily one of the best legs of modern TAR.
I don't think there was anything THAT significant within TAR20's visit to Paraguay that is worthy of being done again besides the Brenchel or Vanessa & Ralph and Elliott & Andrew's late-night foot race to the Pit Stop. And if they use Rachel & Dave having an "incomplete" for this leg as a reason, :groan:...It's one of the instances where uninspiring Leg design (at least the Detour, the bottle dance was always fantastic) was exponentially better when filming/on TV.Does the Paraguay leg seem a little lazy in the leg design department? Anyone else expect the Yield to be available on every/most Legs? Like, they give them the Yield Hourglasses, but will only get a few opportunities to use it? What's the point of the Hourglass then? I don't think the ten minute difference will matter all that much. Only in the most perfect of circumstances would it lead to something actually interesting or exciting.I do think they are going to place yields on every leg until Leg 11, except legs with u-turn
Just bringing the Yield back on every Leg or even every other Leg with the U-Turn would be twisty enough.
Out of interest...rumor has it this was not a planned non-elim??
Perhaps due to all the taxi dramas? ???
Would be interesting to know why Peach came up with this piece of news..Out of interest...rumor has it this was not a planned non-elim??

Welp, considering what's apparently coming up in Episode 5, this is HORRIFIC news if true. :cmas31:
Such a good season! I really wish they filmed 2 seasons in 2019 so we had more TAR.Same here. We could have had up to 34 filmed and 35 be the halted season but nooooo. God forbid they give TAR the time of day. Even if they had filmed TAR33 first and Tough as Nails second, TAR could’ve finished and Tough as Nails would’ve been able to finish filming by now because it’s low-risk filming
I love TAR more than Survivor and wish CBS would respect the show more.

This is so true. Everything that could have gone wrong for us, did. If they even would have just swapped the filming dates of Tough as Nails and TAR33 around, we could have gotten BOTH. But instead their lack of planning and waiting well over a year in between filming TAR32 and TAR33 lead to us this... meanwhile, Tough as Nails S2 is even filming right now.
Omg I always keep forgetting to avoid the toxic comments section of the TAR Facebook page :furious: lol
I cannot get over the fact that we thought Kaylynn & Haley got eliminated in Paraguay but now they’re here making it to INDIA! So iconic :luvya:Never would have thought they would be the last non-allied team left
I’ve been trying to visualize what a “mega leg” actually is, and the closest I am coming up with is a leg similar to the final leg of the earliest seasons (1 to 5) which also featured two roadblocks, two detours, and double the distance with no pit stop mid leg.
Maybe it's like in those old season of Amazing race where there was a midpoint check in.
Like in TAR 6, in Budapest
From wikipedia:
Leg 6 was a combined double-length leg, with two Detours and two Roadblocks, shown over two episodes. The placements listed in the first column reflect the order teams arrived at the Net Klub Internet Kafé, the leg's halfway point. The leg's Fast Forward was offered after the halfway mark, and thus permitted Lori & Bolo to skip only the second set of challenges.
(It's the only one I can think of, but I'm sure there was more of that)
Technically since we likely aren’t another NEL due to the megaleg, Kaylynn & Haley will have come in last on every single NEL!I cannot get over the fact that we thought Kaylynn & Haley got eliminated in Paraguay but now they’re here making it to INDIA! So iconic :luvya:Never would have thought they would be the last non-allied team left
It is just bad we aren't getting a 3rd NEL this season so we cannot see them break a record and be the team coming last on all NELs of a season
Was anyone else surprised when Haley & Kaylynn survived and Leo & Alana got eliminated? Like I was actually genuinely shocked. I had thought that it was the other way around.Same with me. I was almost certain their taxi was going to get lost or something on the way to the First President Park Pit Stop and Leo & Alana would pass them by.
I never would have seen Haley and Kaylynn ACTUALLY making it all the way to the final 6/episode 9/India??!! Literally the whole episode I was just waiting for them to mess-up and for Leo & Alana to catch up, but then it never happened. I'm not sure if I just wasn't paying as much attention to spoilers or what, but that was genuinely one of the most surprised I've been at an elimination on The Amazing Race in a LONG time.

Per the Futon Critic, next week we get two episodes, episodes 3208 and 3209. The mega leg may well be just the first hour (episode 3208).I doubt they actually want to cram a mega leg into one hour airtime unless there is no Ari tasks lol. Probably a two parter without check-in/virtual pit stop feature
As much as I like the cast, I'm really not liking this "Mine Five" alliance now. In the first 2-3 legs when there are more teams, fine. Now that there are only six teams now, with three elimination points to go (Legs 9, 10, & 11), this alliance needs to break down.It seems like they’re rebranding the superleg and trying to pass it off as something new which is...an interesting choice. I’ve always preferred Keep On Racing legs to Superlegs because they actually count as two separate legs
Also, did they just rename the double-length leg, or is it a new twist?
Kaylynn and Haley's journey of constantly surviving. :2hearts:

I am finding myself looking forward to it less every week. Some help is standard in TAR, but this "Mine Five" alliance is sucking the competitiveness right out of the season. I'm imagining in the finale...the 3 teams even sharing the answers to whatever memory task they get and waiting for each other to cross the finish line.I am hoping the Mine Five start going at each other's throats. Or a situation where a team that helped others (like Hung last night) gets eliminated when the teams they help pass them. Or like DeAngelo & Gary beating everyone when they contribute the least to the alliance. It would be hilarious.
At this rate, Phil should just not eliminate any more teams and let the final 6 cross the finish line holding hands.
The Mine Five is not only too powerful but I fear its success can influence future seasons (if the show returns)
Chos brother ended up being eliminated because they contributed to much help to Bamas. Joey & Meghan almost got eliminated after Meghan helped John with the Roadblock in the Guangzhou leg...I am finding myself looking forward to it less every week. But I gotta say I love how Phil rubbed it in to Hung & Chee that they made a $15,000 mistake, lol.
Honestly, I feel like in retrospect, phrasing it as a $1 million mistake toward the Mine Five Alliance would have been the most beneficial and had the most impact, not just to Hung & Chee. It was a needed wake-up call, not just TV gold. But I gotta say I love how Phil rubbed it in to Hung & Chee that they made a $15,000 mistake, lol.
That was TV gold for me. Good on you Phil!

I also partially have to condemn production for the loopholes on the Australian rappel Roadblock - racers should not have been allowed to work with each other after a guess or look for outside help. At least have them select or write down letters to build the word like in TAR14's "Chekhov" and TAR15's "Franz". I found it humiliating to watch when only Hung properly completed this Roadblock... only to give out the answer.
Not until he had to collaborate with Aparna for the answer. He didn't even have to go back up to the hotel's roof because of this loophole.Honestly, I feel like in retrospect, phrasing it as a $1 million mistake toward the Mine Five Alliance would have been the most beneficial and had the most impact, not just to Hung & Chee. Leo did figure the answer of the RB too unless you meant the first four teams at the hotel
My reaction to the sneak peak: how is someone a TAR superfan yet doesn’t know what a rickshaw is?!How does someone make it 30 years in life without knowing what a rickshaw is... :groan:

Especially if they've ever seen a TAR season before, where those are a staple of southeast Asian legs.
I think so James has been watching since season 1, and Will since season 5. I personally think that James was probably stressed and maybe sleep deprived. I know when you're go go go and very tired you sort of forget things like for example what a rickshaw is. :duno:My reaction to the sneak peak: how is someone a TAR superfan yet doesn’t know what a rickshaw is?!How does someone make it 30 years in life without knowing what a rickshaw is... :groan:

The only South-east Asia legs James saw were TAR 24 and 25.
I don’t believe that’s even remotely true. James began watching TAR with the first season, Will with season 5, and per their videos and social media, they rewatched most of the seasons prior to filming the Race.
It is likely that killer fatigue was affecting their memories, as they’ve alluded to in their video recaps of this season.
It also helped in TAR10 that the Six Pack were never major threats. But the "other side" were strong teams, but not invincible, on their own without an alliance. So the competition was still there, especially the rivalry with the BQs.
Here on TAR32, there's no such dynamic or nuance. It's just the five dominant teams spoon feeding each other answers and even pausing their own Race to give those answers to the other teams. Not fun nor exciting at all.
This season had so much potential, lol what a waste of such a good route.Right? Different country each leg, 0 repeats, and this is IMO the best race course ever designed: Yield, Double U-Turns, No-Rest Pit Stop, "Mega Leg." All that was missing for a true "Back to Basics" approach was the Fast Forward, and maybe the Intersection. I'm so happy there doesn't appear to be a Head-to-Head this season.

I don't think it's fair to blame one team for the alliance, all 5 teams are part of it and are as responsable for what happened.
Alliances have been part of the Amazing race since season 1, but I do think this is the most 'extreme' exemple we ever had.
In case anyone is curious, it appears the elimination station was in Prague

I really miss when teams didn’t constantly help each other
The first half was really strong. The prevalence of the alliance starting with Leg 6 brought this down, but I don't despise this season. Only 4, 16, and 24 have reached that level and 32 isn't even close to those.
This season is so infuriating episode after episode. Honestly wondering why I watch this show anymore its not fun.My interest of this season drops bit by bit as the 8th - 6th place teams go one-by-one :groan:
When both casuals and die-hard fans have the same negative opinion of something on the show, then there's something wrong with the show.

The Manila Leg has a task involving stilettos. Did they draw inspiration from one of the Design Challenges?
I could not remember the user, but I do remember it was for a task in Milan, Italy.

Press Release for Episode 11: In the first-ever city sprint, the final four teams will have no road blocks, no detours and complete every challenge as a team as fast as they can when they race through Manila, the capital of the Philippines, on the penultimate leg of THE AMAZING RACE
Why are they trying to act like having no Detours or Roadblocks in a leg is some brand new fancy twist...?
I hate this, I hated it in S30, and I will probably hate it this leg. Leg 10 and they are going to make it one of the easiest legs of the season :furious:. I think Route Info Tasks are usually the easiest tasks of the show except for Speed Bumps. Roadblocks, Detours, and Fast Forwards are all usually more difficult, and in the double dights of the season going to do this :idgit. It's only happened twice, but branding it a city sprint is basically akin to the first "official" Switchback happening in 15 when the show had already reused tasks.

Once upon a time, this show was about ordinary people racing around the world for life-changing money. It made for exciting, dramatic and entertaining television which is why it has the fanbase it has today. In my opinion, I think it was after Unfinished Business when that all changed.
One thing about the boot order, we don't know how horribly the Mine Five would do without feeding each other answers. Like, how far behind would a team get if Hung wasn't standing there waiting to force answers and solutions down the other teams' throats? (As just one example.)
And they aren't violating rules, but they're definitely looking for shortcuts. And that is almost as bad. What's the point of the show putting together tasks when teams aren't actually going to perform and complete them? Part of that is the show's fault and poor design, part of that is the teams' decisions. But this is a Race. And they are harming the integrity of the Race by trying to find shortcuts.
The Mine Five's attitudes about it are also a turn off. The ganging up, the bullying, the cocky attitudes. Put these teams against some of TAR's even middling teams from the past? They'd get eaten alive. And it won't take an alliance of five to do it.
There's also the argument that's popped up over the years, including from certain teams themselves. That teams are Racing to win, they're not here for our entertainment. That is a flawed defense. The Amazing Race is an entertainment TV show. And while no one wants teams to play up to the camera or be fake (like many teams have in the recent past and increasingly so in the current social media-influencer era), teams go into the show knowing what it is about. (Though that's debatable with increasing recruits too.)
Teams can certainly do whatever they want to win, but the show's fans/viewers aren't obligated to like it or appreciate it. Or even respect it. Viewers certainly have the option to not watch. And as the data has proven the last couple of years, many have indeed made that decision to say Bye bye to The Amazing Race.
This season is so infuriating episode after episode. Honestly wondering why I watch this show anymore its not fun.
I feel ya oval! It's sad to think about. But I think there's definitely a whole separate thread's worth of discussion about that feeling. And how perhaps TAR isn't as amazing as it once was. (I actually think there already is a thread like that somewhere around here hehe)
I'm definitely thankful for other TARs around the world that have tried new things, tweaked the format. But still essentially keep it TAR. And best of all, they cast good teams who bring the drama and hilarity, but still actually compete. When both casuals and die-hard fans have the same negative opinion of something on the show, then there's something wrong with the show.

Actually, that's true. I've seen them. Like comments about wanting TAR to become more like Survivor and Big Brother. Like, they WANT more alliances and backstabbing and that kind of clique-y behavior on TAR. *cringe* lol

There's no guarantee that there won't also be a memory task in Leg 11

The next leg's structure sounds like a shortsighted disaster on air like TAR30's team swap. The "city sprint" sounds like they're just going to be traveling on foot to locations around Metro Manila in a set order like a marathon. In my specs from pure live sightings, I thought Phil was going to hand out a list of tasks they needed to complete in whatever order, like orienteering, where navigation and travel can diversify.

No they were not there long enough. I think they just picked up something there.
If there is a memory task it is inside the Dome.
I do like a memory task in the Penultimate leg. (While having a more difficult memory task in the Final Leg) But this is definitely not the season to start doing it on. lol

Thanks for correcting me. That's quite disappointing, especially if it proves to be a 2 season gap without a memory challenge.
The TAR Twitter is looking for fans to submit their tribute to The Amazing Race's 32 seasons.I hope it's just a tribute video or something and nothing more than that, but I remember this might be the first time they do this in all of seasons (cmiiw) so it's definitely weird to see this one floating
The timing of this is... weird, here's hoping it's not a cancellation announcement. :groan:
The one thing they've done a good job of building up this season is visualizing a checklist of the progress each team had under their team subtitle labeling. I was anticipating a combination of the checklist and how they'd edit Detours. Very disappointing if this pure Route Info leg has teams all forced to bunch for a triathlon instead of an orienteering adventure since what they are packaging as "new" is what TAR29 had for Chicago and TAR30 for Bahrain. Neither warranted a Phil ceremony at the start. The next leg's structure sounds like a shortsighted disaster on air like TAR30's team swap. So I doubt they'do that. Final 4 is the perfect time to do such a thing though.

Excited for the night leg in NOLA! We haven't been around the French Quarter since Family Edition and it was definitely lacking in the nightlife scene (understandable as kids were cast that season) so I'm thrilled for it to finally come on screen.

Night time in NOLA is always great to see and it's fitting for the final leg, hopefully for another great night final leg like s30
The common theme for this season has been I'm enjoying the leg but once the alliance pops up. 😤
Replacement Leg or not, I enjoyed the Leg. (Not the teams Racing on it though lolol) It would be better with a Detour and Road Block at the locations they used though. The tasks were definitely simple ARI tasks. But the idea of having all tasks within reasonable walking distance between each other would be a good concept for future urban Legs like this.

I've seen annoying alliances (and mostly non sense) but I feel like mine five isn't one of them, it's far from it. One thing i can actually agree about the alliance and its impact to this season is that the crews put too much emphasis on the alliance edits and not with the inter team characters and their personalities. That is what's missing in this season. We don't how actually enjoyable and outgoing Eswar and Aparna were until we saw the bonus scene, we don't know W/J personality more than just being sneaky in the game, and etc. I wish teams personality were explored more in the main scenes rather in the bonus scenes/insider clips. I heard Amy Warren said that in one of Justin's recap and I agreed with herThat's why I like to read Thesupacoowackiestblogintheuniverse's Blog, I learned things about the race that I WOULD NOT be able to learn somewhere else (at least from what I know).
Nah, the clue itself wasn't the problem. The teams just really don't know how to read clues (as has been shown repeatedly this season) and can't complete tasks without someone else holding their hand. Nothing new and totally expected and predictable in this Penultimate Leg.
Though this guy on instagram saying the final 3's plane back to America should be shot down was way out of line. Like seriously wtf man

This. I don’t think anyone’s ever mentioned this being against the rules but reality shows change when they get broken, or not entertaining. Big brother got rid of majority rules because majority alliances coordinated to always pick the first option. That’s no fun! So they got rid of it. Survivor had an idol that was played after the votes were read, but when one person sailed to the end with no obstacles they changed it to be played Before the votes were read, and made things interesting. TARs done the same thing with U-Turns and race hindrances (even fast forwards!). TAR should definitely look at this season, and the backlash it’s received. For heavens sake Phil had to audibly reprimand teams to think for themselves so I *speculate* they aren’t the happiest with how things played out, and TAR33/34 whatever is next will be a moment to watch for sure.
And if teams can’t handle valid criticisms without censorship, then that’s on them. Me thinks they won’t be favorites for returning seasons.
Though this guy on instagram saying the final 3's plane back to America should be shot down was way out of line. Like seriously wtf man
Think about it this way. The show comes up with all these tasks, has to worry about logistics and making sure everything's working well. We all know the effort, blood, sweat and tears that goes into putting the Race together. Then here comes a team that finds a shortcut, exploits a loophole or somehow doesn't perform the task completely on their own. Would you be willing to pay the winner of that Leg $10,000 when they didn't even do every single thing required of them as you laid out?
Yes, they're not breaking any rules. But if you value the Race as a competition, would you like to see this be the norm moving forward? The top contenders are the ones that game the system the best?
Again, it's partly on the task design, which Bertram and Co. will have to address moving forward. No question. But it's also on the Racers for trying to find a shortcut. Which, I believe, is different from figuring out the best way or right way to complete a task. I'm sure someone else can explain what I'm trying to say in a much better way. But I hope I got the basic point across.
My take is the one who take the advantage of the loophole(s) isnt the one to blame, but the creator/designer is. 32 season of TAR, and many moments when team helped each other in some tasks even before this season, they should have know better, they should have thought those better. Yes, it is partly because of racers study and research the race too, but honestly, with how many seasons of TAR they have been produced, they should have thought to prevent the loopholes.
I really would love to see Michelle & Victoria's reaction to them getting the news of the finale taking place in their home state. :funny:"So freaking charming!" :barf :funny:

My take is the one who take the advantage of the loophole(s) isnt the one to blame, but the creator/designer is. 32 season of TAR, and many moments when team helped each other in some tasks even before this season, they should have know better, they should have thought those better. Yes, it is partly because of racers study and research the race too, but honestly, with how many seasons of TAR they have been produced, they should have thought to prevent the loopholes.
I think it goes deeper than that. I just listened to three exit interviews with Gary and DeAngelo.
IMO this is a casting failure.
You have two celebrities who come to a Live Casting Call and say we want to do the race. Neither has SEEN a season.
They are personable and fun and you decide to snap them up. Probably excited to think you will bring in a new crowd of Football Fans. Gary proceeds to binge 10 seasons. DeAngelo does not.
SO you have one team member who literally thinks he is going to see the world.
Is this the Team's fault when things fall apart? Or was this a Casting mistake??
I personally think it was Casting. There are thousands of TEAMS out there waiting to be chosen INCLUDING ATHLETES WITH MAJOR FOLLOWINGS who also BOTH know and understand the RACE. AND who would be funny and charming and delightful to watch.
DeAngelo got into something he didn't understand. For most of the race he did stick it out and try his best. BUt they never should have been chosen.

Can I just say how much I am going to hate having a needle in a haystack task on the final leg?
