Production was suspended because NOWHERE was safe. Covid was still somewhat unknown at the time but very very very serious worldwide.

Heartbroken that I was...the medical part of me was in total agreement. This decision was absolutely the right thing to do. No second guesses...it was the best thing.

Just watched Tough as Nails season 3 - Battle Lines where they resurfaced part of a stadium parking lot - that stadium was Dignity Health! TAN was filmed spring/summer 2021 where TAR was fall 2021.

In the clip of Arun I would like to point out that there are Canadian flags in the background. Could they possibly snuck a leg in Canada? However it could also just be a Canadian owned hotel.

Runway at Lugano Airport is too short for the plane they were using, so Milan was the next closest airport with a long enough runway.

8 teams (16 contestants) were scheduled to leave the airport at LAX for Zurich. I wonder if they flew out a pair of alternates ??

Its also possible that a team dropped out in between our information and the flight.

Article did confirm greater use of self driving, but no gps, which is surprising given production went through great lengths per article to eliminate contact with unvaccinated locals.
The mention of the use of charter busses tends to fit in with using Milan as a transit point.

Either a shuttle or the first clue asks teams to drive themselves to Milan Airport?
(Maybe with a task along the way).

What confuses me is that they were saying using smaller cities (ok for Greece)  and remote areas but Zurich and Lisboa are both big cities.... wonder how they filmed this.
My guess (especially for Portugal as we have nothing) is that they filmed in smaller cities not toooo far from Lisboa. (Some place like Evora?)
