As a pre-game activity, sound off your favorite part of the season or any fun facts you remember from the route or from the teams themselves. :waves:

I'll start it off by saying my favorite moment would be the Kyoto Detour where multiple teams went right for the ninja weapons for the thrill of it only to end up regretting their choice, and still having arguments brew between teammates at the origami crane option. It was an exciting balance with both options being emotionally and mentally taxing while looking simple on paper (pun intended).

It's fantastic to see the campaign for it, but I haven't played GTA since the San Andreas days, honestly. Don't have much time to spare to dedicate for video games nowadays.

And no more Georgie & Mandy! The moment is ours!!!

Immediately, we begin with a light recap of the final four racing through Porto, Portugal. Carson & Jack and Han & Holden secured their places in the final two with H&H experiencing a bit of turbulence along the way. Alyssa & Josiah stumbled late in the leg while Jon & Ana took out their frustrations on each other, leaving them in a tile face-off!

Back to where we are - Jon & Ana and Alyssa & Josiah are pasting pieces and Jon smashes two pieces. "There's no replacements." - Ana.

Josiah says to keep fighting while Ana calls for a check and they are good! They leave in 3rd with Jon despondent to the Pit Stop clue. Alyssa & Josiah also finish as onlookers above are pleased with the view. It's a foot race between Jon & Ana and Aly & Josiah. Jon & Ana run the wrong way and Alyssa & Josiah cross the bridge. Jon is misdirecting Ana not knowing where the Pit Stop is. Josiah realizes the boat is on the other side.

Jon & Ana come up to the Pit Stop as Team Number Three. No penalty? What?....

Meanwhile, Alyssa & Josiah arrive in last steadily and have been eliminated. Josiah says the race isn't over at all with Alyssa in their everyday life. Alyssa is extremely upset.

Alyssa & Josiah were proud of their accomplishments for the race and watch the sunset along the river.

This is where we are getting the final three retrospectives. Carson & Jack, Han & Holden, and Jon & Ana giving their final statements and being a complementary or somewhat cohesive unit.

And it's the next day in Porto! Carson & Jack depart in 1st at 11:51 A.M. Fly to Miami, Florida! We get shots of extensive beaches and a Scramble! "You have $200 for this leg of the race!" - Carson. The DnD boys are happy they have business class. Jack says he is unemployed again and hope the money can pay off their mortgages. They're not counting their chickens before they hatch.

Han & Holden leave in 2nd past noon. They are happy they are leaving in second and not last.

Han mentions they haven't won a leg, but this is the only one that truly matters. Holden feels focused and determined. Jon & Ana depart in last and Ana says last leg was the worst leg they ran so far. Ana is feeling confident and Jon wants to keep a good flow going. "Taxi? Thank you." - Ana. They are hoping to set their kids up for college.

Han & Holden arrive at the departures with Jon & Ana entering the Tourism Interactive Center, printing out a map of Miami. Everyone is boarding the flight to Miami with all three of them excited. Carson & Jack say Jon & Ana and Han & Holden pose huge threats. Han & Holden is coming for that million. "It's going to get wild in Miami, man." - Jon.

We return to establishing beachfront shots of Miami and its towers! Teams must travel to Crandon Park Marina and ride a speedboat across Biscayne Bay to pick up the next clue! Everyone rushing to the taxi stand! Carson & Jack call the first Caravan taxi with Han & Holden and Jon & Ana behind. The two then subsequently get theirs.

DnD is channeling their inner characters in that game. Han is hoping for a lot of water challenges to give them a boost. Jon wants to run a mistake-free leg. Jon & Ana's driver pass Han & Holden's taxi!

Carson & Jack reach Crandon Park and thank their driver Julian. Jon & Ana stop right behind them.

Carson & Jack are heading out in their boat with Jon & Ana on their tail. Han & Holden are seconds behind them as well with everyone hooting and hollering on the way there. Jon has never been on a boat and is exuberant today. Han is going crazy!

Carson & Jack reach the pier and the clue box. "I see the clue box, babe." - Ana.

Prepare for a scramble! Teams must complete three water-inspired challenges, Sail at the Coral Reef Yacht Club, a high-speed water rescue, and maintain a water hovercraft in the air for a set time.

Jon & Ana also get the clue and immediately get in their car to navigate, bypassing Carson & Jack who just got their directions. DnD mention Ana can't swim very well. "The ocean is not my friend." - Ana.

Jon & Ana reach the first checkpoint. ROUTE INFO (Water rescue training exercise): With one teammate driving and another riding the boogie board, they must save a mannequin attached to a buoy in the water and bring it back to shore at the marked area to progress on.

Jon & Ana are getting the instructor with Carson & Jack and Han & Holden right behind. They are also at the water rescue.

Ana & Jon is pushing their boat into the water and struggling a little as Holden mentions this is where we pass teams. Carson & Jack is getting their instructions in the background.

Ana is steering while Jon is grabbing the lifesize mannequin body. They are heading back to shore, that was quick! Ana is beached and they must now drag the body... that sounded wrong coming from my typing. They are finished and have an "E" for a location.

Carson & Jack are now off to save the mannequin. Ana directs Jon to Coral Reef Yacht Club for the sail task. Ana says the piece looks like a domino.

Carson steers to the buoy and Jack is grabbing the body. They return as Han & Holden retrieve theirs with Carson & Jack getting their first piece of the puzzle.

H&H are also finished dragging the mannequin like a suckling pig. :funny: Carson & Jack and Han & Holden are asking for directions from locals. DnD and H&H are heading to Soar.

Jon & Ana are now facing directional challenges with Sail so they are going to Soar instead. "We could've been there already. We're burning time here." - Jon.

We return to a shot of Rickenbacker Causeway with Carson & Jack reaching the Soar checkpoint. ROADBLOCK: Who's ready to go above and beyond? One team member must hydrofly for 60 seconds straight to receive the next puzzle piece. Jack does the task and feels this will be a heights challenge. He is being taught the moves to work the hydroflying contraption from an instructor on a pontoon. Jack loves when people get lost.

Han & Holden reach Soar and Han does the task. She loves surfing and is stoked like a standard surfer girl. She says Jon & Ana may be at the other option, but she is confident in passing DnD. Jon & Ana reach the Soar and Ana volunteers. And now it's a water-based task. She wants to do it and do it well without any accounting for her fear.

Jack says everything with water sports is difficult while Han is coming from behind. "Womp womp for me." - Jack. He sees an elusive crab in the water before getting on the hydroflight. He immediately falls flat in the water. :funny:

Han just shows up and falls on her behind first thing. Not so good then, are ya?  :funny: Ana is struggling in the water, yet lasts one second longer than both. "I can't!" - famous TAR words from Ana. She is coughing up the ocean water.

Jack, Ana, and Han are all struggling in their own areas for multiple attempts. Han almost saves herself, but leans back too far. Carson doesn't know whether to support or wish ill. The instructor is now arguing with Ana. :funny: Ana is in tears absolutely terrified as Han and Jack are still making waves in the water.

We come back to more of this.

Ana is giving it another go and can't get her balance right. She is not acclimated to the water and felt she was never going to do it. She is in complete distress. Meanwhile, Carson is getting flat feet. Han is also freaking out and not getting her center of gravity.

It's Jack vs. Han both in their 9th attempt with Han falling back into the water. Carson outlasts Han and we get a quick shot of Ana going for another short attempt. Carson passes! DnD are off in first place so far. Jack is proud of himself as they beat Han. Jack mentions the Soar puzzle piece is a "C".

Ana keeps making splashes while Han gets her 60 seconds finished! Unfortunately, she is very emotional and frustrated with herself. The perfectionism is talking in the pontoon ride back to Holden. "I'm going to let this emotion sit with me until I hit the dock." - Han.

Jack shows up in the boat with Carson cheering for him and proud of him. They are running back to their car. Jon and Holden say this isn't great. Jack mentions he is excited because he used to go to sailing camp as a kid, probably giving them an edge in this next task.

Han & Holden are reunited and ask for directions. Jon is not happy. Ana continues to struggle. "How many seconds was that?" - Ana. "Wasn't it." - Judge.

Carson & Jack reach the Sail task. ROUTE INFO: Learn to sail in an Optimist dinghy around Valentine's Island without instruction by only paying attention to sailing students around them. Very Saint-Tropez TAR30 of them.

Jack has never sailed a boat like this and couldn't figure out how to do it. Carson turns the rudder and are going backwards.

Ana spends another moment riding the hydroflight and ultimately finishes! She gets the second puzzle piece in complete disbelief she just finished "the hardest thing she ever done". She is disappointed she may have cost her and Jon the race.

We come back to Ana facing the music back at the pier telling Jon sorry. Jon asks if she did it or got a penalty. :funny: She shows him the puzzle piece in glee and Jon is proud of her for dealing with the trauma of the water. "It was my worst nightmare." - Ana. "Your girls will be so proud." - Jon.

Carson & Jack try pushing their boat and it's semi-working. "There's nothing like the power of an arm." - Jack :funny: Jack switches with Carson because he is getting tired. They realize they still have a long way to go. Han & Holden say they have sailing experience.

"We found something, we don't know what this is. But it looks like a paddle." - Jack. :funny:

H&H arrive at the Sail task and get into their dinghy. They're trying to figure out how to catch the wind.

Holden mentions sailing needs to be precise and Han suggests using their hand. Carson & Jack notice the students were leaning. "Paddling might just get us our way there." Han & Holden are still doggy-paddling. :funny:

Jon mentions making up time before and wants to keep fighting. Jack says he'll be "sore for a milli" at the fifth buoy. Han & Holden are at their second buoy.

Jon & Ana arrive and Ana notices DnD and H&H's cars are still here. They fit into dinghy and can't figure out the mechanism either. Jon is using the paddle solely.

Jon & Ana are making tiny progress on the dinghy. Han's arms hurt and is complaining about it. Han is absolutely on her tensest nerves this leg. They finish and ask a security guard for more info and is headed into the correct direction.

Carson & Jack run into bumper-to-bumper street traffic. Meanwhile, Han & Holden have a map and want to keep their head in the game. They are yelling at each other to turn on the Palmetto Expressway and get into a bumper scratch accident. :funny: Just your typical Miami traffic. "I have to pull over." - Han.

We come back to a shot of Bank of America in front of Han and she turns into another car. The po-pos are coming, or not. It's a racecar-styled Honda and the driver they hit doesn't speak English. Holden defuses the situation and are off thanks to him.

Jon & Ana finish passing the sixth buoy. Carson & Jack reach Domino Park. ROUTE INFO: Ice Palace Film Studios. They get directions and are off quickly.

The scramble was was an interesting concept for the final leg, but I was still busy with work during most of it, was it just me, and it didn't really work, right.

Neat final memory challenge.

Carson & Jack quickly remembering all the atypical route clues and are assembling the letters now. Ana is reminded of salsa dancing on the way there with her asking Jon if he knows how to play dominos. Jon is giving no reaction.

Han & Holden reach the Ice Palace too and we get a Scott & Lori flashback of their targeting. They get the twists all laid out and are assembling the PICTURES of locations they visited. They are immediately confused while Carson & Jack is slowing down progress. Han is thoroughly analyzing the situation, getting overwhelmed, and Holden is trying to get this right. They get into a bit of a tiff about it.

We return to Han would be killing to be in this position as they come up with a strategy for the pictures. Carson & Jack also notice the pictures and begin inserting it into the stand. The drums and Sofia dancers are being assembled by DnD.

Jon & Ana reach the domino park and are heading to the Ice Palace after their clue now.

We get an image of the apple delivery chief from Bulgaria, "If you're not making progress, switch it up." - Jack. Kyoto hackey sack Roadblock flashback.

"Come on, we can do this Holden." - Han.

Carson & Jack call for a check and it's fully complete. ROUTE INFO: Race to the Finish Line! Loan Depot Park, home of the Miami Marlins!

DnD are off and ask a runner for directions for the ballpark as it's pouring! :funny:

Jon & Ana reach the Ice Palace puzzle board. Ana figures out they are spelling TAR. Carson & Jack turn the wrong way and are lost.

Han & Holden make progress on the Starsbourg spiral staircase climb with an accompanying flashback.

Jon is making crazy progress on the puzzle while Han & Holden call for a check, and they are approved! They are running to the Finish Line too!. Ana's adrenaline is kicking in.

Han & Holden want to trust their map. Carson & Jack driving in the final leg and hope they don't get into an accident, so does Han & Holden.

Carson & Jack park their car on the side of the ballpark and run into the venue with everyone cheering!

"9 countries, 18 cities, and more than 25,000 miles! Carson & Jack, I'm happy to tell you, you are the winners of TAR and have won the million dollars!"

DnD are completely overwhelmed with joy about the experience, comparing it to their gameplay and storyboarding at home.

Jon & Ana call for a check and are off in last to the Finish Line! But it's too late as Han & Holden run onto the Finish Line as officially 2ND PLACE! Han is happy about this experience and Holden said he had a motivational partner in life. This is the first time they have ever worked together. They know their relatives will be so proud of them.

Ana & Jon come running onto the mat as 3RD PLACE!

Phil mentions Ana was trying to walk on water today and she is completely proud of how they ran the race. They mention they will fight, but it brings them closer. Jon is still happy and is accepting disappointment in the race and taking it in stride.

Montage of teams hugging each other on the mat with the final three giving their final statements. Jack says this was the cherry on top racing with Carson.

Establishing final shot of the teams before panning off to the digital board behind them. "Dedicated to Jack Walworth." That's sweet of the producers.

Classic end credits music and FIN.

Well that was quite a finale episode starting from the last leg. I'm happy for Carson & Jack and it proved that physicality doesn't guarantee you the win. I have a lot to say about this season that I will write later as a sendoff, but for right now, I've been pleasantly surprised as a whole. Please unleash your loves, dislikes, criticisms, commentary, and anything on your mind below and let's show some more support as we wrap up this TAR37 party! Thanks for coming everyone!

Thanks elthemagnifico and Maanca! Crazy to think that I was IN Miami A WEEK BEFORE they filmed here. The storm brewing over Carson & Jack brought back some memories of my trip. Had I known....

CBS, can you give me the job of proofreading TAR episodes before they air, pretty please? I won't give out any spoilers, I promise. (I happened to catch the map animation showing teams going to Miami, "Flordia"- funny, though not as bad as the one time they marked Paris as being in Spain).

Did all teams get upgraded to business or was it just Carson & Jack?

I liked seeing a multi-part cryptic clue to spice up the finale leg. Little Havana is a good enclave to visit especially since we're unlikely to ever see TARUS visit Cuba.

Minor complaint: I like sports as much as the next guy, but it feels like we're seeing professional sports venues on the final leg too frequently- in fact, there's been one visited on 6 of the last 9 finales. It fits seamlessly when it's a more iconic venue such as the Rose Bowl or Wrigley Field, but less so when it's a park belonging to a team in the bottom two of both attendance and spending in the MLB. That said, I understand the desire to have an indoor venue for a Finish Line when there's afternoon rain in the forecast.

Congrats to Carson & Jack, they showed a lot of strength and resiliency during the race.

Huge thank you to Rachel for doing these updates every week! :cheer: (even though I'm a day late, I always read through them)

I believe ppl here have already known, but the finish line was initially held at Kampong Botanical Garden, but the storm and flood forced the crews to move to the stadium at the last minute. I assume it's easier to get the permit to film the finish line there in that time constraint.

Thanks Pi! Now I'm wondering what the whole leg would have looked like had they arrived hours later. I was told that the day after they filmed was supposedly a scattered thunderstorm. Scramble might have been shelved as lightning and open water-based tasks don't mix.

The first Scramble, in Germany, was just perfect in almost every way. Yet for some reason, since then, the producers can't seem to grasp the idea that a Scramble only works if all the tasks are roughly equidistant from the starting point. If you don't put the Scramble-Start clue in the middle, then all the teams are just going to go for the nearest-to-farthest route. I don't get why that's so difficult to understand...

Agree 100% with this. As never as in the other times this twist was used, this felt like an old school finale.

One of my last morsels in this TAR37 thread to send it off into the sunset, my season-in-retrospect.

"In the hospital, somebody would be dead by now.": A rare synergy in the air occurred these past several weeks, and each Wednesday, that same feeling came in bouts and waves. Thinking back to the first leg, I never imagined myself remembering the record-breaking 14 teams by the end of it, let alone recalling and embracing the signature racing styles of 10+ specific teams. That flip in mentality and trajectory took place for me on the Kyoto leg when so many teams' reactions, plays of strength, and signs of weakness were brought to life by the edit. As someone who always emphasizes THE EDIT as integral to a team's journey, the result was a fixture of individual storylines focusing on the real-time moods and nerves from these teams, despite the overuse of confessionals. And strangely, it felt inspired by TAR3's vibes. Between you and my wild comparisons, I found Jon & Ana's dynamics almost like an older Flo & Zach, Han & Holden rising like a phoenix a la Teri & Ian, Carson & Jack geeking out over fun times and camaraderie reminiscent of Ken & Gerard, Brett & Mark being a latent force like the Doublemint Twins, Melinda & Erika taking a page from Heather & Eve's accidental playbook, Scott & Lori riling the witch hunt against Jon & Ana like Aaron & Arianne over the twins, Alyssa & Josiah's chutzpah and dad jokes an earshot call of John Vito & Jill's hyper-competitive and complimenting demeanor, and the haystack field elimination of Nick & Mike a lighter circumstance of terrible luck in an imperative point in the race like Andre & Damon. Even at the beginning, I appreciated the tense highlights interspersed like Jackye overcoming her fear of stairs as the first task, Ernest causing unintentional sabotage to Brett & Mark at the Intersection, Courtney & Jasmin's culmination of misadventures from taxi conundrums to their dried rice paper-bus sequence, and Bernie's one-sided bickering with Carrigain on the side. The multiple characters, conflicts, charisma, and competitiveness shown throughout this season encapsulate an essence that had gone missing for a while. It's a renewal after years of social media-scared kumbayah from previous races.

"It was almost like a spirit. It was insane!": I love the uptick of back-to-basics TAR experiences: the booking agencies, the starting line flight battle, the midleg transit, and the on-foot protocol. I was impressed by how detailed the overall race interacted with these classic elements. The funicular frenzy in Naples, Melinda & Erika going from 9th to 4th against everyone else running the wrong way, and the Dubai Pit Stop scuffle between Pops & Jeff and Nick & Mike were some of the best moments that came from it. The legs' task sets are some of the better ones I have seen recently that feel naturally connected to their immediate cultural areas. However, I did feel like tasks here or there came off as thematic duplicates (the e-foil in Dubai and the hydrofly in Miami, mozzarella making in Naples and cheese-naming in Strasbourg) or even simply underwhelming (namely the lion dance routine in Hong Kong, the sheep's milk and eating yogurt Roadblock, and the coral-coconuts Detour in Indonesia). Carson & Jack coincidentally meeting the wood-weighing judge in the Bulgarian countryside on the city bus again is still one of my favorite moments involving locals in the race, and I am still in disbelief that this is the first time we had an unplanned clue-giver cameo caught on film. The atmosphere of the race this season was palpable thanks to the solid travel route, and the teams did wonders making the travel experience their own.

Mixed bag of twists: The wheels were placed, but weren't screwed on. That is how I describe the planning of the twists for the season. Going through them, I feel like the execution wasn't as effective as it could have been. Leg 1: Fork in the Road... it was a Detour with a double-elimination. Had either tasks been different in arrival requirements to the Pit Stop or a wager situation on one side, it would have given it a unique edge. Legs 2 & 3: I was satisfied with the Intersection and the first Express Pass challenge. It felt like a homecoming for these two. Leg 4: Driver's Seat... could be tooled with a limit on how many teams you can inflict it on, over just having one team take all. Leg 5: The open forum U-Turn... I see no benefit in it for the race. Never liked the Tribal Council-style vote since it debuted on the 31st season. Equalizing everyone to do it also makes it a death knell for those penalized teams. Leg 6: The Fast Forward was a nice treat. I just wish they had at least a couple more Audis so multiple teams could compete for the scuba dive in some fashion. I would have loved to see a Carson & Jack vs. Han & Holden showdown. Leg 7: The second U-Turn was phenomenally used and positioned, three cheers to Melinda & Erika! Hands down, the best results of a twist application this season. Leg 8: The second Express Pass task... I feel like every other team was cheated out of it, as that was offered at the Pit Start. Leg 9: The non-elimination is a welcome guest, but I just wish Han & Holden had the Speed Bump in Leg 10 for the complete experience. Surprised there was not one in the next leg. Leg 10: The Head-to-Head shined being divorced from the Pit Stop, but the last-place penalty could be more substantial with an additional task or a longer waitout. Leg 11: The Valet Roulette... a novelty item I could do without. Leg 12: The Scramble... as G.B. had mentioned earlier, needed to be equidistant to open it for choice, or even limited to one or two teams at each site to guarantee a split.

Miami's Vice: It's safe to say I was a little disappointed with the final memory task. As much as I wanted to like the postcard puzzle, it comes just off the Liberty Bell replica from last season, only being supplied with a straightforward recollection of past game pieces and locations. Coming off of analytical gems like the floor piano in 34 and the tennis racquet riddles in 33, I hope this can change the direction of this all-encompassing task to include more deft and critical thinking. At such a high-stakes point in the race, it should be a sizable factor in who comes out on top than who can produce a prepared product in the end. Otherwise, the final leg was a solid cap to the season where the water activities utilized the all-star neighborhoods of Miami (Coconut Grove, Key Biscayne, Miami Beach, Wynwood, Little Havana) to reflect the landscape and recreation of the area. Kudos to Carson & Jack and Ana for conquering tasks out of their wheelhouse! I'm happy we ended up with this final three and an impressive run by DnD to go with!

Lastly, if I had to assign a GIF to represent this crazy and jam-packed season, Sylvester Stallone said it best for everything that was thrown to the teams and at us:

From what we can gather from a lot fo the post show recaps, is that the Scramble suffered a lot from the production literally scrambling to reset post storm. Wonder what would have been its original state if plans weren't disrupted during filming.
