Production has shown an intent to use the KISS method in its efforts to avoid exposure to the unvaccinated and avoid having to have vaccinated cast, crew and production in quarantine while doing so. What’s hard to decipher is what they’ll do on a final leg, wherever it is, about using taxis. We’ve speculated about avoiding taxis and other transit options for the same reason. I just can’t see that changing now, since there’s no place in the country with 100% vaccination rates. I’d be quite surprised to see any location in the final leg in a publicly accessible area, indoors or outdoors, but using self driving, or hired vehicles whose drivers have been vaccinated. It’s very hard to figure out rationally without more information that we’re to get. It’s a quandary!

Are we sure these are “live” live? ET is pre-corded, and the segments are recorded in advance of that. As to Instagram, he doesn’t have to be in any specific spot, and that could be before or after. And is 3 PM, eastern, pacific, or what?

If it's at 12 Noon Pacific Time today, then it would almost have to be prerecorded. I don't think Phil can count on the race and post race celebration being done by then. Phil could easily have done the interview last night after arriving in Los Angeles (or even a few weeks ago).

I feel like if the flight is arriving in the afternoon that they could easily hold teams somewhere until nightfall to start the final leg (else they would've flown out earlier in the day for a daytime leg). They've done it before with legs (29 in South Korea, maybe 32 in New Orleans?) and since they're on a chartered plane it would be easier to do so.

Teams already arrived at the final leg but are staying in a hotel or something right now and haven't started the leg yet due to quarantine or testing requirements.

Did they get sent home after they were eliminated? That's from Mike, one half of the Singing Cops, so I think that may mean they are an early out after the restart...?

EDIT: I think that at least confirms they're flying the eliminated teams (at least from the restart) back for the Finish Line to all be together, so that's nice

I don't think so... I think the finale probably happened yesterday in a rural area of Southern California.

Mike, from the Singing Cops, is probably the most loose lipped on social media.

He posted this on September 13th of saying he's at Buffalo airport going to LA for a Hollywood adventure:

He then posted this later the same day which is presumably of them at LA and getting into a valet vehicle likely taking them to the pre-race sequester hotel:

He then goes inactive for 9 days before making a return with this post on September 22nd. My speculation is this is likely the day they were eliminated, or at least the day after:

Then of course, finally, is him posting he's returning BACK to LA for more "Hollywood business" which is probably attending the Finish Line:

So either he just left on his own accord and chose not to stay at a Sequesterville 'Elimination Staton' area, which is entirely possible, or once teams were eliminated (or at least the early boots), they were sent back home and then flew back out on October 4th/5th for the Finish Line in LA.

Even according to his most recent Instagram Story, he's apparently partying in LA right now so I'm assuming post-filming cast/crew celebration/wrap party might be today/happening right now...?

Sooooo curious as to what the casting theme of the season is!! We have so many cast members who were stars of viral videos or are minor celebrities but then we also have flight attendants and a father/daughter duo from Detroit? Not sure what it is but I'm very interested to see

I think there is no theme it's just a recruits heavy cast. Yikes.
