Since it's the silver anniversary, why not have 12 teams?

(IDK. I feel like they should remember the old of the Race as well as the new. The Yield, 12 teams, 13 legs, MFE, etc.)

For starting line transportation, I'm speculating teams will go back to the sprouts of TAR and have to use public transit like in the original season since New York City has the most type of transportation generally used by the growing NYC population. Remember how hard it was for teams in TAR1 to decide which locomotive would be the quickest to Kennedy Int'l Airport? Imagine teams running around in circles at night where it's barely likely to find an open Internet cafe, payphone with a phone book, and book flights (hopefully with no strangers' smartphone since that would be too easy).

Hopefully Mercedes-Benz renewed their sponsorship with TAR since Ford was only dragging their budget down.

I'm speculating we'll get at least two new countries, a new Asian country and the odds of a Fiji or Samoa visit feel quite high.

I highly doubt there would be another batch of all-stars so soon, especially with the incredibly cold reaction to the cast list the last time it was released.  I think (and hope) they're trying to just do something special for the fans for a 25th edition.

How about the route?  I'd say NYC almost guarantees a Europe start, but I'd love if they threw a curveball and went to somewhere like Toronto or Montreal (that should be friendlier on the budget as well to start with, since that's likely getting a shave this season).  But I'm guessing a very 17-ish route since that was the last season to start on the east coast instead of LA area.

LOOOOOONG time lurker here (5+ years), but with twop closing I really need somewhere else to post!  I hope I'm not frowned upon as posting here only under those circumstances, but I do enjoy the threads here!

Hey Rabbi !,  Good to have you here.  Welcome!   :waves:

Hi, there! I know I remember you and I'm sure you remember me. :)

Meanwhile, let me repeat May 31st is Saturday, and I take 3 am in Times Square at face value. I'm pretty sure TPTB have gotten a film permit out of City Hall, and they're have some NYPD helping to control things. I'm looking forward to monitoring things from here, so I hope those of you who can go send us some tweets and instagram and so forth so we can follow along.

A celebrity edition would be the worst possible thing for them to do especially now getting sent to Fridays.

BIG RED X

Imagine how easy that would be to identify all the teams right away. :funny: I'm neutral with this Celebrity Edition though. What are the chances of having a Celebrity Edition? ???

We've had celebrities on TAR a lot of times, but the only way a "Celebrity Edition" could ever work on TAR is with the celebrity running with a family member, a significant other, or co-worker, just like the regular teams would, and they would have to run under the same rules and on the same routes and legs as a normal season.

That could work well. I would never be interested in a "pampered" edition.

If the celeb wants to donate their winnings to charity, why that would be up to them.

A D-list celebrity team isn't the worst thing in the world. I have no qualms about mactor teams as long as they auditioned themselves and not picked up and asked by production to join and not overact like they are in a scripted show once they're Racing. Like what Derek Ramsay (TARPh host) said, he would much rather be a contestant than the host, so celebrities do have interest in joining the Race.

But an A-list celebrity team, much less a whole season of them, is just too much for anyone to handle.

To everyone who's going, bring your passport! What if the twist isn't about returning racers or celebrities, but crazy fans who would turn up at 3am and are willing to drop everything and go around the world with nothing but the shirts on their backs?

Not sure if geographical representation, vaccinations or visas would work out, but just imagine... :colors

Or like "get stamped to prove you were at Time Square, rush home to get packed, first eleven pairs that arrive at JFK with passports race around the world..."

That's great but yeah, Visa might be a problem except all the destinations are visa-free for American people.

That would be great, but unfair. Does WRP want a full cast of NYC people who all live in the city with an acocmodated life? What about the farmers couple? IDK, it would just be awk

My ultimate guesses on first destination:
Europe (75%): Amsterdam, Brussels, Madrid, Paris, Dublin, Reykjavik, Stockholm, Prague, Milan
Africa (13%): Casablanca, Johannesburg
North America (12%): Punta Cana, Santo Domingo, San Jose, Panama City, Montego Bay, Toronto
I for some reason think Brussels should be the first destination

25 has been casted as far as we know. But I thought the same thing...suppose there is ONE TEAM to be picked like that! AWESOME!

Does anyone think maybe Argentina? Or really anywhere in South America? They haven't been to Argentina since TAR20 and haven't spent much time in SA in a while.  ???

I want everyone to think about something.

Why is CBS making a fuss about this?

It is an anniversary.

Anniversary of what??  ???

Oh....

And what happened on leg 1 then?

OHHHH.  :wohoo:

Just an idea....

I have an idea of what I think the SLT will be. What if the teams' first task is to look for someone from their first destination country? It would represent NYC's diversity AND would make sense that they want a lot of extra people there, to confuse the racers.
