No matter how you slice it, the start will be memorable.  I am happy to see them mixing it up rather than throwing in the towel with the Friday move.

Is the image Phil tweeted 7hrs ago of any significance?

I don't know how you would find that building, but most of his tweets lately have a purpose. May be teams will have to climb down those scary looking fire escapes.

Yeah that would be interesting. I tried to search the image but found nothing worthwhile

3am Saturday is May 31st, and its overnight Friday night.

At least that's the way I understood it.

That was my interpretation too.  3 a.m. May 31st = that Fri/Sat night.

Yes, but that is not really why there's confusion. The confusion is that there's a discrepancy with the dates on CBS's website.
You are the last team to arrive.
This is a Philmination leg, so I'm sorry to tell you that you have been Philiminated from the race.

I have a feeling of another all stars
Could they be saving the best of the best all stars for 25.
If it is allstars i think they will bring back
Brook and claire
Pam and winnie
Mona and beth
Max and katie
Chippendales
Bopper and mark
Tim and marie
Gary and mallory
And 3 others possibly winners

Don't think so, and since this is eastward season (maybe), I speculate we will have a Switchback of watermelon task from TAR 17. Hope female  teams win! NEED MORE FEMALE TEAM WINNERS...

Apparently, Luke is going to be at the Starting Line to cheer the teams on. Considering Phil mentioned in a TV Guide interview that he was looking forward to new faces, I highly doubt it's another reurnee season.

If they now were doing a all-stars it would need to be all-stars material teams such as:

Colin&Christie
Chip&Kim
Rob&Amber
Oswald&Danny
Brian&Greg
Dustin & Kandice
Azaria & Hendekea
Toni & Dallas

That's just some of the teams but they know how to race and if we are gonna have another all-stars I rather have teams that really are working their ass off to get somewhere.

I am so psyched- a starting line I can get to! Do we have exact details yet- where in Times Square (much bigger than you think), and is it Saturday 3 am or Sunday 3 am? I will be there! :yess:

Most likely Saturday 3am, that's what it says on Twitter and the CBS article.

Only the caption on the TAR news section says Sunday, so I assume that was a mistake.

I highly doubt there would be another batch of all-stars so soon, especially with the incredibly cold reaction to the cast list the last time it was released.  I think (and hope) they're trying to just do something special for the fans for a 25th edition.

How about the route?  I'd say NYC almost guarantees a Europe start, but I'd love if they threw a curveball and went to somewhere like Toronto or Montreal (that should be friendlier on the budget as well to start with, since that's likely getting a shave this season).  But I'm guessing a very 17-ish route since that was the last season to start on the east coast instead of LA area.

LOOOOOONG time lurker here (5+ years), but with twop closing I really need somewhere else to post!  I hope I'm not frowned upon as posting here only under those circumstances, but I do enjoy the threads here!

Don't worry, everyone's here to join in on the excitement! No shame, and no disgrace. :waves:

This is the first time this week I have seen TAR blowing up with TAR25 news and I'm ecstatic about the race beginning at night in New York City, at least Mr. Munster listened to our tips and points of improvement :yess:, I think. Times Square seems like an odd choice though since I wouldn't expect TAR to close a section of a street or avenue since taxis and nightclub pedestrians do frequently travel across this neighborhood even passed midnight.

"Be a part of history"... if it's a celerity edition, I'll scream all because of the negative reception TAR received in the most recent season and considering we've technically had "celebrities" on past seasons like the country singers, YouTubers, numerous pageant queens, et cetera. I'd say TAR will be revealing a new non-elimination penalty, a new race-changer (like the Intersection), and/or possibly something other than the U-Turn and Yield to give teams the choice of slowing other teams down.

Times Square could mean a lot of things: on the street, on top of a building or on the closed off pedestrian area. They may use the billboards like they did in a prior race in Taiwan I think.

I'm actually speculating that they will bring back the Yield but also make it a double yield but that they won't get rid of the U-Turn to add more strategy to when you want to use the Yield or U-Turn.

I think it would be really cool to see them look for their first destination on the billboards and tv screens of Time Square, but pretty sure that would give it away for everyone that is there as public...

Didn't they do a similar task like this in TAR9 in Tokyo at the Shibuya Scramble (Japan's Times Square)?

A celebrity edition would be the worst possible thing for them to do especially now getting sent to Fridays.

I REALLY get the feeling we'll get a South Africa first leg or two before they head to Europe. Who knows they could surprise us completely with the route, Could get Oceania at the end of it like TAR 2.
