G-Man

Which is first?

Sam wanting to kill his brother
or
Meghan saying she can't do this

(This was originally Which is first Roadblock or Detour, but thought it was to easy).

Next Clarification
About the Random Gnome.  In season 7, Ron & Kelly won award because their Gnome was the Random Gnome that had the prize attached to it.  In other seasons it has just been the first Gnome that makes it to the Matt.

Next Clarification (is due to my wonderful substandard English Education).

Do we hear or see how many clues or in hay bales.  It should say "Do we hear or see how many clues are in the Hay Bales".

God I hate my lack of skill in grammar (not to mention spelling).

Heck, we need an easy question or two or three for a change!
And what do we check if we think that neither happens?  That Sam never says he wants to kill his brother, or Meghan never says she can't do this?

Just for the record, the Travelocity Gnome is not the Random Gnome, it is the ROAMING Gnome.  This is what I was trying to point out.

We saw both in the preview, so it's pretty safe to say that at least one of them will happen. When was the last time they used footage exclusively in a preview?

Just because I like to pick the nitts, in question number uno the amount of  time seperating the departure times of Sam & Dan and Meghan & Cheyne actually is never shown.  The departure times for both teams will be shown, but you will have to do the actual figuring of the difference by subtracting the departure time of team no. 1 from the departure time of team no. 2.

So the amount of time that seperates the two is actually NOT SHOWN, so is this the correct answer?

That why I love G-Man

And no I will not take that as an accurate answer if they show both teams departure times.  THough I would probably get more points if I did.

A few observations, as if you needed me to nittpick, anyway:

Gary and Matt certainly are lost and have no idea where they are.  Brian and Ericka don't know how to get to Skokloster and ask a taxi driver to show them the way.  This does not necessarily mean they are actually "lost" they are just asking for directions (before they do indeed get lost on their own.)

Which team is first to get to the detour?  This is a tricky one.  Meghan and Cheyne and Sam and Dan arrive at the "check point" where they have to put on hard hats, goggles, and ear muffs before they can actually continue to the actual detour sight.  Although Meghan and Cheyne start putting their gear on first, Sam and Dan actually are the first ones through the check gate and arrive first. at the spot to start the detour task.  So I would say that Sam and Dan are first at the actual detour site

The clue does not mention that it took a racer eight hours, but Dan who is holding all the clues and additional information does call out to Sam that it took the racers eight hours last time.  So he probably got that fact from the additional information and relayed (shouted) it to Sam struggling with the hay bales.

Which comes first?  Although Sam yells it out pretty clearly that he will kill his brother, several times before that Meghan in a very low voice mutters that "I can't do this" as she is unrolling the hay bales. Later, she says it more clearly after she finds the clue and says that she is going to tell Cheyne that "I can't do this"(and this time it is after Sam's declaration.)

A very tricky quiz this time, but one missing question was "who arrives last at the pit stop"  Was it that clear in the previews that Gary and Matt would be last?  Leading to a NEL and a speed bump next week in Estonia and their eventual elimination?

I never heard Meghan say "I can't do this" before Sam mentioned he wanted to kill his brother.

What I did hear her say was a lot of things along the lines of not being able to do it, but I never heard the quote.

What we need to decide is whether we are taking it literally or not.

Yeah I will be going over this episode very carefully right now, as there are several questions that are tricky.

I can answer one question.  I don't consider drivers stopping to get directions or getting someone to lead them as being lost (after all I assume all racers are lost and don't know their destinations or how to get there).  Now if they have to turn around to follow said directions or cab driver then I would count it, as it is changing their course of direction (ie they are going the wrong way).

Even though I'm probably nuking my chances of a good score (I picked 1 team to get lost) I think Herb and Nate mention that they have gone to the wrong farm and need to turn around.

Ok here is what I have feel free to comment, and give opinion as there are a few questions that are certainly open to debate.

15 Points - How much time separates Sam & Dan and Meghan & Cheyne when leaving the Pit Stop??

10 - 15 minutes  9:33 to 9:48 15 minutes

15 points - Do any teams besides Gary & Matt get lost while driving themselves?

Yes, Flight Time and Big Easy must turn around when going to the farm (Damn them I picked no)

5 Points - Teams have to take a ride on the “Tilt” is it during this tasks that they must find gnomes?

Yes, as I consider this all one giant task

5 points -Do the opening credits change this week?

No, and can I say I think it looks odd with a few with race footage but most without.

15 Points - Do teams take any other forms of transport besides cars or plains (not counting tasks)?

Yes, Ok why the hell did I put no when we new for a fact about the Ferry.  We also have trains to the mix (and I think we might have had spoilers on that as well), what a dumb ass

15 points - Which person states the title “This is the worst thing I’ve ever done in my Life”

Meghan

15 Points - Do teams all make the same flight?

No

10 points -Which comes first?

Sam says he wants to kill his brother,  Meghan talks to motivate (several times about how hard it is, and how she hopes she can do it), but Sam mention fratricide before she thinks she can't do it).

5 Points - Which racer does the roadblock?”

Gary, thinks last minute clip from CBS

5 points - Does a random Gnome determine who wins a prize on this leg (or i it just the first team that brings a gnome to the Pit Stop)?

No

5 points - Is the Nobel Peace Prize mentioned?

No, just the Nobel Prize.

10 points - Do we see any footage from season 6?

Yes, several times Hi Aaron , Hi Jon (Good Times)

10 points - Do we see Lena or Kristy?

Yes, in clips You cheap bastards

5 points - Does Meghan & Cheyne choose the “Explosive” Detour?

Yes

10 points - Which team is the first to get to the Detour?

Ok, need help.  In my opinion the safety gear is part of the detour.  As such Meghan & Cheyne are first there.

10 Points - Which team loses the most placings completing the Detour??

Using the criteria above it would be Meghan & Cheyne going from 1st to 3rd.

10 points - Which team is first to arrive at Lena’s special Hell??

Sam & Dan

10 points -Does the clue (or additional info provided mention it took a racer 8 hours?

No (as much as I want to count Yes), there is no dialogue or visual clue that Dan is actually reading or read it.  Though I am sure he did.

10 points - Which team is the first to yell or complain to their partner about the roadblock?

Sam & Dan, Dan before he even gets the plastic wrapper off

10 points - Which team is first to finish the roadblock?

Flight Time & Big Easy

10 points - Which team is 2nd to finish the roadblock?

Meghan & Cheyne

10 points - Which team loses the most placing completing the roadblock?

Sam & Dan 1st to 4th

10 points - Do any teams switch detour tasks (once they have started the other)?

No

5 Points - Does this leg have a U-Turn?

No

10 Points _ Do we hear or see how many clues are in the Hay Bales?

Yes, 7

Yes, 186

10 Points - Do we ever get subtitles showing how many Hay Bales have been unrolled by a team?

No

Brian & Ericka

15 Points - which best describes the Greeter?

Some stupid local children, I think its a child

15 points - Which team is listed as first the most?

Sam & Dan 3 times

15 points - How many teams end in the same position they started the leg in?

1 Meghan & Cheyne

10 points - Do teams drive from the Roadblock to the Pit Stop?

No

10 points - Is the team that finishes the Roadblock 1st the team to reach Phil 1st?

Yes

10 points - Do any teams get bleeped?

No, I don't, but Sam gets the blur for giving his brother the one finger salute.

10 points - Is Gary or Matt shown in the Preview for the next episode?

Yes

Me too, and yes the Trotters do admit to going in  the wrong direction.  And having to turn around.

No, they all knew about the haybales from before. ;)

The ferry spoiler comes next week, this was a surprise. Also re trains, even though they took trains in season 6, I thought they were driving around for a reason too. :groan:

I have to disagree with several of you "correct answers"

At the detour it is clearly stated that before you can proceed further you have to don the safety gear.  And there is a gate leading to the explosive site which is lowered and closed.  The site of the detour is the explosive area where the teams have to build a sand bag barrier before exploding the TNT.  So the actual detour site is inside the restricted area.  Sam and Dan are the first ones to proceed through the gate to the detour site.  So although Meghan and Cheyne reach the safety gear a few seconds before Sam and Dan, Sam and Dan actually are the first ones to reach the site of the detour activity.

The tilt drop is just one task and finding of the gnome is never mentioned..  The first clue box has a clue to ride the tilt.  And it is clearly stated that from the top of the tilt the teams would be able to spot an arrow leading them to the next site and the next clue box.  The clue is the ring toss to find the ROAMING gnome.  There are two clue boxes and two clues, so there are two tasks and the tilt task just leads to the  ring toss task and is not part of the actually finding of the gnome.

Take another look.   The greeter is of the female gender, and certainly is no longer a child; she is a full grown woman.  Stupid or not, I do not know, but she certainly has reached womanhood and is no longer a child.  So a child is not the correct answer, and I certainly don't think we should call anyone "stupid" unless you have met them personally and can correctly judge their personal IQ

That's women!!???!!!

Seriously I will really check that one again.

Still undecided about the Detour (it reminds me of season 10 2nd episode, where the safety gear was far way from the animal or ht building aspect, but was part of the task in that task could not be completed without it.

On the Tilit, I did forget about them having a separate clue box for this ring toss, and as such I will consider that two general tasks.

And I will again check the greeter out.

I'm not playing this game, so if you want to ignore my opinion, please feel free.

The greeter in Sweden was definitely a young man.  A woman would have been wearing a skirt, probably with an apron.  A young girl also would have been wearing a skirt or dress.  The greeter was dressed in the traditional mansdräkten, worn by males.

Heee....I had my heart (not my head) set on Lena and Kristy so I'm out on this, biut I totally agree, adolescent male.

I think the detour task STARTS with the donning of the gear, so bye bye points for me. Anytime you have to dress or undress or whatever...I can tell you that is part of the Detour clue itself.

And the tilt is the first stage of getting the gnome IMO...

I have a suggestion for future game:
change "first team to reach the detour" to "first team to receive the detour clue". Because the Detour could have very well begun once they got the gnome.
The story so far:
In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move
