Why wouldn't it be the pit stop?

Seems okay for camping.

Supsandalee, yeah, I just went back and tried the perspective view from the double set of cranes and it looks just as good.  Kind of a toss up.  I was just about to cross check against the footage of the eplace where the diablo rojos go.

Boats racing

Paolos

If the Paolos finish the FF, how come they have to take the boat ride to the wildlife island? The island is not the pitstop.

So they didn't finish the FF?

Banzai I assume they all race to the boats and the quckest boat to the cluebox gets the Fast Foward ??

So we think that they went to Belize but that whole section of the race has been edited out? I wonder if it would do any good to check flights from New Orleans to Panama City if that is the case.

Maybe the FF clue is on the island and not at the canal.  *(^

I think we should check flights to both destinations.  And in between.

Whoa...no elimination next week? Holy ****! But a family will get knocked out of the race on the 1st of November. Are we going to start guessing who that might be?
I thought that when we fought, I was to blame
Now I know you play a different game
I've seen you dance with danger; still wanting more

you have a point, puddin

but look like the cameraman flashes a flood light so close to the papa and he has to look away to avoid it. The ceiling of the van is so bright. And in the back of the van looks like a car headlight and not a sunlight.

The fake bird is really bugging me.   *(^

How can they set up a bird watching task????

Maybe there are "fake" birds hidden amongst the trees and they have to find a certain number and circle on the field guide.  It would be difficult to track if they saw a real bird, unless they have a human guide with them, confirming they really saw a "live" bird.

It's sort of a krazi idea, but thought I would throw it out there.

Oh I don't know that its fake Krazi but I've never been to Panama so I really wouldn't know  {l{

I don't know banzai ..its hard to say whats going on .I think DJ is getting the Deana/Ray editing , remember she was shown afraid to cross the big Stacks to complete the FF ? and she did .Thats what I see anyway .
.. is that water to the left of the screen , they are passing something ,are they on a bridge ?

It looks like a night shot but if it is what exactly does that mean? If indeed they succeed at the fast forward then maybe the pit stop is far away and other teams pit late at night too? The Paolos look happy (as happy goes in the Paolo family).

When I saw the birdwatching footage I thought this must be where the scarlet macaw (intro vidcaps) shows up. Now I'm not so sure. This page states that Coiba Island, a remote penal colony, is the last refuge for the macaw in Panama. Belize and Costa Rica seem more likely.

105.

The Weavers made it to the Pitstop and it's still daytime. Rolly was about to hug Phil.
But if the Paolos failed at the FF, what took them so long to finish the Detour & the Roadblock?

Banzai maybe the Paolos are in a busvan  , they just left the airport ? This is where DJ says something like "
if anyone had ever told me I'd be in Panama with my mother ,I'd tell them they were out of there minds ."

Teams Are Ecstatic to Trade Car Keys for Plane Tickets on the next Amazing Race

TEAMS ARE ECSTATIC TO TRADE THEIR CAR KEYS FOR PLANE TICKETS TO THEIR NEXT DESTINATION OUT OF THE COUNTRY, ON "THE AMAZING RACE 8," TUESDAY, OCT. 25 ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK

"We're Getting Out of the Country, Girls" -- Teams are ecstatic to trade their car keys for plane tickets to their next destination out of the country, on THE AMAZING RACE 8, Tuesday, Oct. 25 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Phil Keoghan is the host of the series.

The families depart from New Orleans, La. and head to Barro Colorado Islanda in Gamboa, Panama.
One racer repeatedly strikes out during a road block and gets irritated by the incessant encouragement from fellow teammates.
Two teams race for the first Fast Forward on the course where they must face a fear of extreme heights.
Under enormous pressure and afraid of falling behind, one family gets heated with their driver for wanting to pick up other passengers.

EDITOR'S NOTE: This episode of THE AMAZING RACE was filmed partly in New Orleans a few months before Hurricane Katrina struck the area. At the beginning of the show, host Phil Keoghan will provide information to viewers on how they can contribute to the relief efforts.

If this is the entrance to the canal and obvious equalizer, it's possible this is where the FF is found, since we see the Paolo's with the rest of the group.

And this is the picture of what I think looks like a fake bird.  Any idea's on how the birdwatching would be handled?

Krazi they aren't bolting for the cluebox so I'm thinking they have to cross the waters , as we see the boats racing ?
Also about the Birds ..you can see Walder ( at least I think its him ?) circling a bird on this guide .

I think it's a fake bird. The fake branch doesn't match with the natural branch.

I saw the circling of the birds.  I was just wondering if anyone has a theory on the task.  #1 Detour or Task?  (We know the roadblock is baseball.)  #2 Any idea on how it may be conducted?  The fake bird is what got me thinking about this.  Maybe they have a guide (person) verifying that they actually "saw" the bird they circled on the field guide?  I don't think they would just give them a guide sheet and let them go.  If it is a detour, what could be the other choice?

And they're staring at a spot in the ground in front of them like it's a starting line or gate. An "hours of operation" bunchup, perhaps?
