I guess the trade-off of being spoiled is being (potentially) bored.
I missed when Tom referred to himself in the third person. At best, that's pretentious, at worst, it's a sign of mental illness. I'm not liking him as much as I thought I would. Maybe it's just harder to root for someone who doesn't seem to have any trouble. In classical "hero" mythology, there's always some hardship the hero must overcome. We haven't seen Tom have to overcome much, except maybe some sour pusses (Coby, Katie, Caryn, Janu...).
