Personally I dislike BB too.
Really seems a great way to lose more TAR fans than add them.

JMO....

I feel the opposite.  Ratings turn out hand-over-fist for CBS' reality-star-heavy shows like 'The Traitors' and 'The Challenge'.  If this pulls people in, then I'm all for it.  It's very likely a vocal minority who don't care, outright for BB players.  I'd wager most don't know them at all.
People going the streaming route instead of watching live television contributes to this. 2020s viewers want a "multiverse" and are attached to competition personalities. TAR hasn't yet found a way to carve this same viewing experience on streaming to grow its fanbase. It's very much still a TV-broadcast event for a majority of viewers.

JMO....
The issue with exclusively casting BB alumni is twofold:
1) It's a casting pool of ~400 people, and looking for 13 teams gives each former HG an incredibly high chance of being cast, which really feels quite unfair when you consider the amount of people still auditioning for TAR. When you add in people like Janelle/Xavier/Danielle complaining about the stipend, it makes the issue all the more acute -- people have been auditioning for years, you get a golden opportunity, and you decline and publicly complain about the compensation? Tone-deaf and ungrateful, if you ask me, and I follow BB live feed updates, so it's not like I'm the poster child of TAR casual fan anti-BB bias.

2) It's a casting pool of ~400 people, and Big Brother, in my opinion, casts the least interesting people of the CBS big 3. Factoring in declines from big names like the aforementioned 3, and it's hard to see CBS filling a cast of 13 teams, especially when you try to reach 50% BIPOC and consider just how bad BB was at casting people of color for an incredibly long stretch of its production (mainly BB14 through 19, +21). I personally don't see a way towards a good cast (i.e. Survivor Blood vs. Water) as opposed to a thoroughly uncharismatic cast (i.e. The Challenge: Bloodlines) without increasing the pool to Survivor alumni. Survivor casting, especially in the New Era, has some incredibly compelling pre-mergers who are unlikely to get a call for 50.

I'm aware TAR does recruits, some of them casted were very bland. On the Amazing Race IG, they did a screening in Atlanta with 2 teams present S.37 (Nick & Mike Fiorito - Brothers/Podcasters), they've been auditioning for the last 7 years. Han & Holden on the other hand, auditioned once. Is it really that hard to find good casting for TAR? I follow the Brothers prior to them appearing on TAR and they are pleasant, they use their platform for good causes. There were people whom auditioned for TAR initially but got switched to Survivor instead, I remember, Parvati Shallow auditioned with a friend before getting cast on Survivor. She is a legend in Survivor, I've watched her on Traitors. I wonder how she'll do on TAR though. I'm curious how do they do these castings, why do we get boring teams? Survivor on the other hand has had really good casting in the New Era alone. We've had so much people noteworthy, even from pre-mergers. The last season for instance they had had some really great people from Sam, Genevieve, Rachel, Andy, Anika, even the 1st boot, Jon.

On a different note, why not TAR experiment on how The Challenge or the Traitors does their casting. I mean, rather than focusing on just Survivor or BB. Why not get notable personalities from other shows. They need to evolve. TAR Australia, did the Celebrity Edition, back-to-back.

It's not everyone's cup of tea obviously, but since there are 13-14 Teams, why not cast half-half, still include newbies in the mix.

I will say, I used to watch amazing race as a kid, but never really religiously and i think i stopped watching around season 24. It was season 30, when I saw that jessica and Cody from big brother were being cast, that lured me into getting super into it/watching it religiously.

I feel like casting teams from big brother or survivor brings in more viewers, at least for the respective season that they're on, than it loses.

On the topic that it's unfair to the people who apply, it is, but people get recruited for every show. People have had problems with it on big brother, for example, for years. That's just how it all works. Having reality tv show teams on TAR feels no different.

That said, I do think it should stay a once in a while thing.

I see absolutely no issue with this. It objectively will bring in more viewers than it will lose viewers, and if this helps TAR survive, then so be it. Like it or not, Big Brother has a lot of fans, and this will incentivize them to watch The Amazing Race. We know that they are returning to normal casting for TAR39 based on casting producers' social media posts, so regular people like you and I will still get their chance.

I honestly feel like the only way we can realistically get 2 seasons of TAR a year now are by one season of “stunt casting” and one season of everyday teams.

Hi..i feel that the BIG , big brother news shoud have come when they are filming the next day or week. There are roughly 20 days to March ,and we dont know the date exactly...

It is definitely anxiety inducing .Most times we know filming is taking place the day of the  first sighting.

This feels very ,very different..but am very  excited to for the new relatives . They are new to us .And just like celeb australia i liked thr relatives better .

You know, when i posted my take the other day, i didnt actually scroll up to see the context and missed the confirmation that the 38 cast was made of big brother alum and loved ones LOL. I thought it was just speculation. Now I understand.

Interesting concept. I do find it cool when there's one team, but an entire cast of big brother teams, idk about that. I do think it'll bring some fans to TAR though, I dont think it'll be an entirely bad thing, but meh, not a fan of an ENTIRE cast of them.

If they're each racing with a loved one, that's at least decently interesting.

Wait...I just had an epiphany....Cory from big brother 25 and his brother zach from survivor 42 sent in an audition tape a while back.... or at least recorded themselves on twitch creating a video. i wonder if they're going to be on. It fits the big brother alumni and a loved one theme.

I mean, no sense in speculating lol

To add to this, America, Cory’s girlfriend (I assume they are still together?) is on the new season of the challenge which started filming yesterday. Maybe they are each filming a new show?

About the casting.... im aware with TAR alum basically didnt have a strong post-show community, unlike Survivor and Big Brother (idk if i phrased this right), so they need stunt casting instead of cast for an all stars season

but i dont get why its just BB exclusive, is it because its so close to Survivor 50 or what, but they can get away with riding the coattails of House of Villains or The Traitors and just cast bunch of people from reality tv adjacent shows that bring entertainment.

Anyway i just hope for decent cast and great route (and praying they finally get back to Africa soon)

Yuck if true. I will most likely not watch this one if that's the case.

I'm wondering why the choice to only focus on one show too. :idgit I feel if they want to have an influx of chaotic and memorable racers (as BB casts are intended to stir up) and better yet, gain a more vocal streaming audience, they should look into other shows and follow the House of Villains/Traitors/The Challenge guidelight. There are more lively personas from MTV (Challenge, Shores, Love & Hip Hop, RuPaul's Drag Race, Ex On The Beach, Ink Master) who aren't afraid to speak their thoughts on camera and are naturally competitive/clash-prone. I wouldn't mind a couple of The Summit and Tough As Nails duos either if this were the case.

You know, that's probably the issue exactly. Every Survivor alum who thinks they have even an outside shot at Season 50 is probably saying no to anything that would be a potential conflict, especially if its stipend is lower. I saw a Jeff Probst interview within the last week saying that they had a list of 200, cut to 100, in the process of being narrowed down to 50. People who were in the top 200 and not 50 might not know that yet; and even if they do know that they're out of the running, they might not have known back when TAR38's cast was being finalized.

To go off of this, Jeff has said he favors players who are "loyal" to Survivor, so it would make sense if Survivor people were saying no.

I think the all BB season will bring in some newer people to watch TAR for sure.  I've already seen a lot of hype on Twitter about who will possibly be on.

Do we know when this season will start filming? I had previously heard sometime in March but unsure if that’s true. I feel like I always miss out on tracking them at the beginning so I wanna make sure I’m here for it this time! Haha

Do we suspect the Amazing Race discord to be around this time? I know when 37 was filming they were a spot of contention
