Ok this is a question from a semi newbie. I watched for 20 seasons  but never tracked the filming of the show. Wouldn’t the clue for the next destination be given AFTER a PIT stop rest?  Why was it given by Phil?

Occasionally at the pit stop mat, Phil will surprise the teams and tell them the leg isn't over. Then he'll reach into his back pocket and hand them their next clue. Then the teams are off again without an elimination or any rest period. That's what we call a Keep On Racing leg or KOR.

I'm puzzled to see this happening on the next to last leg unless they are making this one LONG leg that they can split up into 2 episodes or a single episode that fills a 2 hour time slot (like we had a few times last season).

So am I. The driver is too vague.

They are running out of time if they want to finish before 7/4

Plaidmoon starting in season 18 the KOR legs were not 1 leg they were 2 legs. Phil tells the teams the next leg of the race starts immediately (or sometimes now) and hands the teams their next clue (aka the first clue of the next leg). So in season 14 the last double-length leg in TAR US History. Leg 10 was a Double-Length Leg so at the half way point would have started a new leg if it was TAR 18 and beyond. So Season 14 would have had 12 legs instead of 11 if this was TAR 18 AND BEYOND. Just let me make that clear. No hate.

A KOR can be an elimination point, as it is the end of a leg, but there is no rest period and the team's immediately begin the next leg. In some earlier seasons, Phil wouldn't even be there.
The double/uberleg evolved into the KOR/no rest period legs which was most recently aired in the Zimbabwe legs of TAR 30.

They are taping the final tomorrow 7/3. They could do a mid leg elimination. They have done that before!

There's another possibility, that I even feel silly to bring up, because it was something that happened on the old days when TAR had more budget, like the old days of 13 legs per cycle, even though I really feel its is unlikely - which is a simplified version of the two destination finale, that was something that used to happen up between Season 5 to Season 10. Colin & Christie are the only vets ever to experience this, cause from S11,  it was back to a single destination in the finale.  That would even allow for a F4 finale if they chose to try it again, with 4th place eliminated before heading to end-city.
I bring this up cause I was re-watching TAR5 over the weekend, and the only challenge set in final city were the final puzzle / maze challenge, as there was another city also part of the final leg.

I'm thinking it's this or a KOR with the last team eliminated.

Did anyone ask the people at the pit stop if Phil handed them the clue? And if he did, did they save it or open right away. Wouldn’t that indicate KOR?

I think there is a high possibility that London is a KOR, cause we hardly see Phil handing in clues, most of these incidents are KORs (only 1 exception - Arles from last season).

The only arguable point is whether this is a 3-teams finales or 4-teams finale.

Because of the speculation of KOR, I am now more hesitated towards Detroit as final destination.

Both of the direct flights from London to Detroit are scheduled to leave London in morning period. Why would they do a KOR to keep teams wander around airport for 10+ hours when they can do a 11-12 hours pit-stop? Just a bit not making sense to me.

I still don’t get it.  Someone please explain to me why there are two different pit stops pictured with Phil.?.?  Leo/Jamal & Nic/Vic at one, and Tyler/Korey & C/C at the other.

Have there ever been KOR Legs with an elimination? Because I know TAR merely uses KOR Legs as no-penalty Non-Elimination Legs.

But it's certainly possible to have an elimination even if all other teams continue Racing.

I think we are seeing different angles from the same one.  Depending on what side you were standing on.

My gut says we're overthinking this and Vicole got eliminated. The taxi driver is kinda vague, i think Vicole were on his cab BEFORE the market.

The girl said the first three teams each had a chat with Phil on the mat. I asked her if they immediately proceeded to keep on racing, she said no. Weird if this was a KOR. A KOR in the penultimate leg is rare and i doubt theyre doing a 13 leg season.

Hoping we will get London airport sightings

Sorry I posted this in the wrong thread. Could someone move it.

I want more than anything for Nic and Vic to be in it but based on what the account @ashabooka told me there is a very slim chance they were given a clue from Phil. Take a look at the second picture in this link. https://www.instagram.com/p/BkvOC7Lgppn/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=lenbrye9lhsi

I only see two clues remaining. I asked her if the picture was taken prior to the teams she told me she saw and she said yes. She told me she hadn’t seen the afghananimal team. Therefore if Tyler and Korey and Colin and Chrissy were the teams she saw then those clues were given to them. 🤷🏻‍♀️  The confusion for me is the taxi driver. I don’t consider Colin and Chrissy a young couple but I guess if he’s a lot older they would be considered younger.

Even if it was KOR, I think the teams would still have a chat with Phil for a while, no? They then even did an interview after the leg (during the time waiting for the flight?). Maybe, because of the limit of time, they had to do a KOR leg but it's still an EL.

Reply to #30: I'm pretty sure that they also had to wait awhile during the KOR's in 25 and 26.

Didn’t someone say that they had a 0-hour pitstop from Tokyo to Hawaii on S20?

Like Vanessa and Ralph got eliminated, but the teams kind of left for the finale right after?

If that’s accurate, could we be seeing something similar?

Looks like earliest flights to Detroit out of Heathrow tomorrow morning is 10:35am BST (5:35 EST, 6:35 CST, 7:35 MST, 6:35 PST)
Arriving in Detroit about 13:49 CST (2:49 EST, 12:49 MST, 11:49 PST).

That's not leaving a whole lotta time to run a leg! LOL

I didn't see any flight out after the pitstop...

The last Pit Stop before the final tends to be short. Like 12 hours.

Why have a KOR if the next flight isn’t until 10:35 in the morning?  They had plenty of time to have a 12 hour pit stop and make their flight even with the 3 hour security requirement for inter-continental flights. I am saying it doesn’t make sense to have a KOR unless no teams were eliminated. Someone mentioned having a KOR and still having an elimination

Season 25 had them keep on racing, but then showed them sitting in the airport. I don't know how long they were in the airport but if i remember correctly Misti & Jim were laying on the ground and Brook & robbie were trying to sleep. I honestly think its more for the viewers than the racers
