Michael and Scott debate taking a 4 hour penalty as Scott's ankle worsens.

Ugh I hope that Amy & Maya get to the Pit Stop soon; they're really lost!
I'm also disappointed that there was no RB.

The good news is that Michael & Scott didn't get eliminated by taking a penalty or thanks to Scott's ankle.  The bad news is that bad directions got them.  Bad directions are just as bad as no directions at all!

I have to say that the sheep active route marker task was hilarious, just like the one in TAR 2 all those seasons ago.

I liked the Detour this time around, but a Roadblock pleeease :( I do like that they're putting more & GOOD Active Route Marker tasks this time around - but adding a Roadblock too would be even better --- do you think they're doing this to be "creative" or because of Bethany maybe?

1. Misti & Jim - They really remind me of Dave & Rachel. I know it's the edit, but all they do (mainly Jim) is talk about how they're in 1st and it should stay that way blah blah :res: Again, I know it's just the edit they're given, but c'mon...
2. Adam & Bethany - Hmm I don't remember too much from them this episode.
3. Keith & Whitney - I like them tbh... they seem like great competitors. I hope they win a leg at least once.
4. Shelley & Nici - omg at them being in 2nd for quite some time of the leg  if only they got 2nd overall! Much better leg for them this time.
5. Amy & Maya - We finally got to see them this week! I felt bad for them when they got lost, so glad it didn't affect them too too much.
6. Brooke & Robbie - Last leg and this leg they've been playing fall-down & catch-up. That's really it... nothing too interesting.
7. Kym & Alli - Lost quite some time in the Detour. That's all I remember from this leg... and their dancing.
8. Tim & Te Jay - Lol at their little barrier in the sheep task.
9. Michael & Scott - They were boring. Not really gonna miss them. Sucks to see Scott get injured though.

LOVE: Adam & Bethany, Keith & Whitney, Shelley & Nici, Amy & Maya, Kym & Alli
LIKE: Tim & Te Jay
NEUTRAL: Brooke & Robbie
DISLIKE: Misti & Jim

After-episode analysis
EPISODE 3 (England, UK --> Scotland, UK) ANALYSIS
BETTER TITLE QUOTE: "We're Not Dogs, Honey" - Shelley
Although I missed the first 15 minutes due to an after-hours business meeting, I really loved the picturesque scenery of the Shetland Islands Leg; I must watch the first 15 minutes (including recap part). As for the tasks, I felt they could have been improved by including more depth rather than straightforward directions. CBS did air promos saying TAR "the toughest race ever"... why not actually make the route as tough as what we have seen in the standard-definition era to fulfill that phrase?

DETOUR: (Viking Torch or Pony Tantrum)
In Viking Torch, teams were labored upon burlap, nails, and planks of wood to recreate a Vikings torch. I found this Detour choice neat with the addition of transporting the torch to the port dock as it at least tested teams' sense of detail and their navigation on foot. All in all, a fair task. On the other spectrum of the Detour, Pony Tantrum dealt with peat and ponies, a lite version of TAR12's donkey task. Although I did love the brief pony misbehavior begin during Misti & Jim's second peat run, I felt this task lacked non-animal challenge. Perhaps a more tremendous distance to the "little house on the prairie" would have made this more intriguing. This task ranks on the decency level.
DETOUR SCORE: 7.8/10

ROUTE INFO: (Who wants to have a baaad day?)
THIS TASK SHOULD HAVE BEEN A ROADBLOCK! I guess TAR is minimizing the amount of key tasks this season, but I do not appreciate this modification. Jumping onto the positive train, I enjoyed teams using different methods of herding sheep into a pen. Adam & Bethany, Tim & Te Jay, and Brooke & Robbie all used unique human styles of getting sheep to stay in place, but all plans worked one way or another. The sheep were also adorable and hilarious bounding along the hills.
ROUTE INFO SCORE: 8/10

OTHER SCORES:
TEAM DRAMA: 8/10
TEAM HUMOR: 6/10
EDITING: 7/10
SOUNDTRACK: 6/10 (Way too much fake triumph music)
PIT STOP CONFIGURATION: 5/10 (A bit offbeat and lackluster editing)
SHEEP ATTITUDE: 9/10 (Wish the sheep did more craze to mix the placements, but I loved them causing frustration.) :funny:
OVERALL: 8/10 ("Three 8's in a row!"~ Mirna)

Places "Raced": France ('24), Greece ('19), Italy ('17), Switzerland ('17), Taiwan ('16), U.S. (WA '13, CA [S.F. '14, L.A. '23], TX '21, FL '24, IL '90s-now)

I LOVE THE SHEEP. I didn't know they could jump like that... I like how Adam & Bethany's sheep just casually walked into the pen... The crazy ponies were pretty great too. Jim calling his pony Satan... :funny:
