Will I be missing out on anything (i.e. interviews, etc) if I arrive at 2 or 2:30 AM??
I'll be watching the live cams until about 1 AM then I'm heading out to Times Square (probably nothing exciting yet though).

Also, since they cleared out TKTS, I assume that the starting line will be near there.

As aforementioned, they have cleared TKTS and it's been barriered for the public to stand outside of it. So I feel it might just start there!

Edit - now camera crews seem to be dumping gear off there!

And quick question - is the French flag always flying on the left-hand flag?

And there seems to be some crews with carts arriving now as well. So it looks like the 47th and Broadway cam may be the best option, since three of the other cams are apparently down.

Kiwi Jay it is more that the US flag is always on the other pole, per US custom. As far as the French flag, I assume that's for something else going on in or near Times Square. (There's a smaller flag also on that flagpole.)

Yes, the flag is always there as Kandace said. But, this is not the French flag, but rather the New York City flag.
