A tweet I found that mentions seeing the teams on Saturday (the day after teams were spotted flying to Calgary).

The Columbia Icefields are about halfway between Jasper and Banff in the Canadian Rockies.

I noticed that too. But I noticed a few other things that works in her favour:

- timing of sighting fits.
- no tweets or movement from her all weekend which fits her "weekend trip from Edmonton to Jasper"
- and a series of tweets within 15 minutes of each other on Monday morning that includes that winky face tweet to AmazingRaceCDA ("haha, I totally saw something"??) , and also to Jasper Tram, and Best Western Jasper all point to her having no twitter access over the weekend when sighting supposedly occurred.

I could be wrong, but when I saw the winky face on that tweet the AmazingRaceCDA I read the whole thing in a tone reflective of "I know something I'm not supposed to".

Mind you, being such a popular tourist area, you'd expect more sightings. Personally, I'm 70% sure of the validity of the sighting. We shall see how it turns out

I saw this tweet too but thought the same as Leafsfan. I tried looking up flight departure data to Calgary for the Jasper airport, but it would only show the current day. The Columbia Icefields would make an excellent startline, especially if they did it in a remote enough spot. Sneaky!

No, there is a Tram in Jasper area that one can take. She was replying to my message of wanting to visit the area one day. No relation.

Icefields as a start line would be super cool, and considering it's halfway between Edmonton and Calgary, could easily have teams given tickets for one of two flights to YVR, one from each airport. Though with no tweets from YEG I doubt this. Calgary Airport is about a 4 hour drive from Icefields. If the start line, and with a possible sighting on Saturday at 11am-12pm, gives teams PLENTY of time to drive to YYC for our evening sighting at the Calgary Airport.
