A couple of comments from me in relation to the eventual identification of Karl and Kay Malone.
For our RFF friends not in the U.S., many African-Americans have very light skin, and from skin color might appear to be white. Same think with "bi-racials" as marriages where one person is white and the other is black are far more common in the U.S. now than it was 50 years ago.
Second, athletes, especially in the sports considered major in the U.S. -- football, baseball, and basketball. Even retired athletes tend to keep their bulk as well as height. And even if not a professional athlete, sometimes athletes who retire from a sport after college. I just want to avoid assuming that someone who looks like an athlete is currently active in that sport professionally,
That said, I'm not going to condemn casting a retired (reasonably well-known) professional athlete. In fact, TAR hasn't had many of those, unlike Survivor, where there seems to be a retired NFL player almost every season now. Retired athletes or their family members, just like retired beauty pageant winners may be fans of the show and applied to be on. Let's see what the back story is before throwing bricks at Lynn Spellman.
