I can't say for sure if that is Jenna Morasca or not, but I only see 3 people in those two pictures. Jenna, the camera guy and the sound guy. There are only 3 sets of legs. The top picture does show something black over the top of Jenna's backpack, but I think that's the back end of the camera on the guy's shoulder. Most likely if that is Jenna Morasca, then Ethan Zohn is probably her partner, but I don't see him in those pictures.

Great to see Ethan and Jenna racing!! Usually hate reality tv re-competitors, but am cheering for them HUGELY already. They have given so much after their wins to community and through his battle with cancer.

This could turn out to be a great cast. I'm already liking Laurence & Zac, and Ethan & Jenna do have that 'beyond survivor' story that theschnauzers has mentioned which will no doubt appeal to more people than Rob & Amber. My speculation is that our missing 11th team is a M/M team as we only have 2 of the usual 3.

Just a passing comment about team colors. In past seasons, we've had more than one shade of some colors, such as with blue, green, and red (e.g., pink). I'll let the folks with photos and on the scene take that reminder from there.

If all these are true, this season is full of celebrities! What's going on? One or two teams are fine but now we are talking about 4 teams with semi-famous people? way too much.It's about the same number of teams with celebrities as other seasons.

Is Phil really that tall? Karl Malone is 6'9, so that would mean that Phil would be anywhere from 6'3 to 6'5 by your estimates. I always thought he was more like 6'0 to 6'1.
I can't comment on whether it is Karl Malone, but I can comment on the height of Kay Kinsey Malone. She appears to be about one foot shorter than Karl, which would make her about 5'9" maximum. I'm kind of uneasy with our identification of Karl Malone. The guy in the pictures doesn't look 6' 9" tall. He looks at most 4 or 5 inches taller than his wife. Maybe his wife is well over 6' tall, but that would be pretty unusual for a beauty pageant winner. Also, while the other racers are at varying distances from the wall, comparing them to the darker lines on the wall in the background, the general feeling is that they aren't that much shorter than the Karl Malone in our pictures. However, it could be the camera angles since they are at various locations along that wall. The security guard near the door appears to tower over everyone else since presumably he is closer to the photographer and nearest to the wall.
On the other hand, our identification of Karl Malone has gotten a fair amount of attention and has been in the Salt Lake City newspaper. If Karl is just going through his day to day life back in Louisiana (I read that he works for Louisiana Tech University these days), I imagine someone would have called it to his attention. In that case, I expect we would have heard a denial from him about the rumors of his being on the Amazing Race. The lack of a denial by this point lends some credibility to our identification.

Then a long section follows with parts of our deliberations, his brief comments to tie it together and most but not all of the pictures followed by this conclusion:
It’s funny…they could’ve just asked someone/an NBA fan who knows what Karl looks like for a definitive answer.
As of present time, RFF is still identifying this team as “Karl and Kay Malone.”
So yeah, I could’ve just posted the clear pic and said, “It’s not true,” but I figured some people might need the extra reading given the lockout and all.
Well…the false hope was fun while it lasted.
It appears that he's decided that it isn't Karl Malone based on one picture of Karl and Kay running in Taiwan where Karl is wearing a orange bandanna. I agree that's the one that looks least like Karl, but most of the others do and the pictures of Kay are all strikingly similar to her, but he doesn't factor that in.
As an aside, if he's going to quote me about the pictures at the Taiwan airport, it would have been nice if he included those too. I look dumb out of context. :(

I agree.. the unknown is more exciting.... and probably best not to know or broadcast the names of the contestants..they will all have a lot to deal with (confidentiality agreements) without being "exposed" before the right time...let's respect that if we can.. and not take the suspense out of the game.. I still want to sit back and enjoy the show without knowing all the details beforehand..

You are right... I only stumbled upon your website when I was just looking to see when the next AR would air... Last year I strongly urged some friends to apply since I felt they would be naturals for this challenge. I was right..I spotted them in some of the photos posted... It was to take place on Las Vegas Blvd. on the sidewalk from Flamingo to Tropicana, and there were to be 3 crew filming 2 people walking on sidewalk. The production company was WRP group. Hopefully this will help with the search for contestants!

I like that TAR19 is fairly balanced.
The strongest male team in TAR17 were the glee club guys; all of the other male teams had age and fitness issues, and the co-ed teams tended to be dysfunctional.
