TAR 15 Applications and Casting Calls
« on: February 25, 2009, 05:28:51 PM »
Okay, so you missed the deadline to apply?

Maybe not!

The original applications:

http://www.cbs.com/primetime/amazing_race/casting/Eligibility_Requirements.pdf

http://www.cbs.com/primetime/amazing_race/casting/Application_Form.pdf

gave us this DEADLINE: (passed) Tuesday, February 17th, 2009 at 5 p.m. PST.

But thanks to Phil's Ride across America we are getting the first idea about open casting calls.

Quote
Phil Keoghan's "Ride Across America Presented by GNC" will kickoff on March 28 in Los Angeles and end on May 9 (the day before the finale of THE AMAZING RACE 14) in New York.  Along the way, he'll attend meet and greets with supporters at local GNC stores, visit CBS affiliates, attend open-casting calls for the next installment of THE AMAZING RACE, sign copies of his best-selling book No Opportunity Wasted, and ride alongside ex-Racers and fans of THE AMAZING RACE.  He will also be participating in rallies hosted by the National MS Society to build awareness for Bike MS and the MS movement.

The reality show, "The Amazing Race," is looking for teams of two who think they will be next to cross the finish line. WWTV-WWUP/TV 9&10 News and Tanger Outlet Center have teamed up to help get a Michigan team to the starting line. An open casting call will be held March 16 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m... According to CBS - Phil is supposed to be attending some casting calls as he rides across America, but all the casting calls seem to be in early March.

Phil's ride doesn't start until March 28th... :duno:

Along the way, he'll attend meet and greets with supporters at local GNC stores, visit CBS affiliates, attend open-casting calls for the next installment of THE AMAZING RACE, sign copies of his best-selling book No Opportunity Wasted, and ride alongside ex-Racers and fans of THE AMAZING RACE.

Oddly, the application has been edited to say:

Currently, there is no deadline for applications, but we have a strong preference to receive your

A logical interpretation is that early applicants get the best odds of being on the show. They start with 11 teams to fill, but late in the process they may only have 1 or 2 left after decisions have been made on the others.

I wish they could have these closer to where I live!

Not that I could be eligible anyway.

March 18, 2009

Team USA in Tunis

Ahhh, recovering from jet lag is always a fun process.  I’m not usually someone who rises at 4am in the morning!

It’s been 2 weeks since we applied for the Amazing Race and still no word…

That might be a bad sign.  If we are going to hear it will definitely be soon because the interview dates they gave start this Friday and run for a week.

Fingers are still crossed for an interview!

If TAR15 hasn't been given the official "go" would they still hire casting? I came across a resume.

They have had casting calls for TAR15 so I would think it would be a go. It's TAR16 that we're wondering about.

My cousin and I applied for TAR15, but we probably didn't make the cut, so I'm probably gonna reapply, this time with one of my childhood friends, for TAR16.

Anyone know if the casting call in New York on May 8 is still a go?

I can't find any info about it - was it canceled?
I'm in NY this week so I thought I'd at least play paparazzi.

Hmmmm...the info I had has also disappeared so perhaps it has been cancelled.

I am looking into it and hope to have more info by tomorrow.
