They gave up the barbecue for the dental hygiene last week, I believe. Don't quote me on it.

I forgot to comment on last weeks show. I have yet to watch tonights episode though.
I agree Rob, most of these kids are dumb! I'm sure CBS went out of their way to find just the right kids they were looking for.

I'm going to disagree with you guys here. I think they have have found an incredible group of kids. We haven't met so many of them which is very sad. But aside from the ones which were clearly chosen for their ability to create TV hilarity (Taylor anyone?), I think that the mix is excellent. And I'd be willing to put some of those clear cut leaders into power today. While I am having fun laughing with/at a very few of the kids, for the most part I think that this is a group that has done a great job and would make their parents very proud.  Now the show producers on the other hand.....

Let's see--we have already covered politics, religion, money.....I'm afraid to think what might be coming up next!

I was able to watch this week (I haven't for a couple weeks now lol). These kids don't mess around when they get mad at the council do they? :lol3: Why was Laurel so surprised someone would run against her?

Greg made me cry when he carried whoever to bed, and Blaine made me cry again when he got the gold star (although I think it would've been cool for the other boy to get one to, hopefully next week).

I wasn't expecting to see Randi go. Taylor (who's been like a mouse in the past few episodes now) finally expressed her opinion since the day she left the Council.

I was caught up with hockey that night, so if I don't understand the concept behind the switch, just let me know. It appeared as though one or two kids were moved around from each District. I remember Nathan and Blaine being on another District, but I can't remember who the other kids were.

 :waves:

Pioneer, Sophia, and the newest gold star Pioneer, Blaine, share the same last name: Wise. They both live in Florida and, according to the "Kid Nation" Web site, they are the same age, or close to it. Can anyone confirm that they might be related?

Interesting theory. It would be even more interesting if that were true, and why that was never addressed.
Looking forward to tonights elections again. Anjay is going to be gone I'm sure.

I'm not sure if I'm bored with it yet, I just don't know what the point is anymore. Just to see if they can survive?
Or to just last? I was hoping there would be more people leaving, as the days got harder.

I wanted to see them run the city--not BE run by production.

But I'll watch till the bitter/sweet end I'm sure! Love the kids!

This is only my opinion but something is really bothering me. Ok I will be the first to say over and over that no Taylor does not do her chores for the week. She likes to sleep in (most kids do lol), but that was just plain MEAN for them to say they were going to take her reward away. First of all, why not take her money for the week to prove a point. Because she DOES participate in the showdowns to earn the reward. Anyone else agree? So if shes not doing her job, then TAKE HER MONEY.

Also the preview for this week, there are more kids then just Taylor not doing their work but is it just me or is it always Taylor they are picking on? The fight looks like it was started by someone who is trying to bully Taylor. It just seems like she is one of those that WILL stand up for herself. Maybe its just me, I was a Taylor fan - she makes me laugh at everything she says, and I really do feel like she tried in the first week until Sophia went off about them not doing dishes while they cooked (which was not her business imo).

And once again I agree Taylor can be a brat, and she seems to be one of those "im too good to do anything" but she also seems like a great kid, one that is just acting her "age". And it just seems to me that shes always being picked on over and over just cause they can. When her friend left, she was there trying to talk to her to get her to stay. And she made quite a few good MATURE points to her friend. My step neices are THE biggest brats ever (my boys are SCARED of them :lol3: ). They get away with everything and they know it (:;) and Taylor is an angel compared to them, it just makes me sad how much she is picked on and singled out I guess.

Also look at the ages of the kids getting gold stars, is it just me or are they always the older ones? I realize the younger ones have gotten them to, but it seems like the numbers for the older kids are WAYYYYYYYYY more. It seems like the kids that DO do what they are suppose to everyday are the ones that only want the star - Greg comes to mind. He was a jerk in the first week and then he was fine when he got the gold star and sometimes is a jerk again and again.

Ok this just proves what im trying to say. The youngest was 8 (Jimmy - who left in week 1 or something), so the only other 8 year old to get it was Mallory and isn't she the one that Greg swore it was only cause of her birthday??? But she got it because she was bossy with the saloon or something? Remember someone nominated her cause of it.

But then look at the ages of all these other kids. The next youngest is 11. So where are the other 8, 9 and 10 year olds? It seems like the most are 12 and 14.

Sophia -14
Michael  -14
Mallory -8
Morgan - 12
Greg - 15
DK - 14
Nathan - 11
Kennedy - 12
Blaine - 14
Laurel  - 12

 :cmas51

The age ratio is pretty uneven among the pioneers.
By the ratio, you would think that the 11 year olds would be the odds to play.

AGE

8-----------  2 pioneers
9-----------  4
10---------   6
11---------  11
12---------   8
13---------   3
14---------   5
15---------   1

Now since three have left

Jimmy: Age 8
Cody: Age 9
Randi: Age 11

that leaves 1--- 8 year old
                3--  9 year olds
       and   10---11 year olds

Gold Star Winners
age
8--------1  Mallory
11------1   Nathan
12------3   Kennedy, Laurel, Morgan
13------1   Blaine
14------3   Sophia , Michael,  DK
15------1   Greg

Maybe we will see more 11 year olds win soon.

As far as Taylor,  They already told her they would take her money a couple of eps. back. She said she did not care. I guess the kids are just trying something else to take away from the little brat. Of course she tries at the challenges, she does not want to do any work, she wants the upper class so she can sleep and play all day and night.

But it seems like the rules only apply to Taylor. There are others that I see (and they are not in the yellow district) that don't do their work, that I have even seen just standing around during the challenges to. Thats what im trying to say. I think its been focused on Taylor because she was on council. Or working aside, what about the things the others do. Why did nothing ever happen to Greg when he did the spray painting? And now hes acting like all big and bad on the council.

I never liked Laurel, and especially how bratty she got after she was off of council lol.

Taylor was the original leader of the Yellow District, but she didn't do anything as a leader. After the first election, she still vowed that she wouldn't do anything workwise. We hadn't heard from her after the big meltdown after the new Council leaders were elected and for a few episodes after that. Now we get to hear that she has another blowup in town? First off, I wonder why we hadn't heard from her in a few episodes?

I guess I just think that there were 40 kids. While I realize why Taylor was a big part of the show at first (council member) it seems that shes STILL a big focus and I blame that on CBS. C'mon out of 40 kids your telling me that they all get along (just look at the religion episode) except for with Taylor.

Im not saying Taylor was ever innocent, im saying that they keep threatening her (I guess as Blondie said she wasn't going to get her $, and then with the whole reward thing - which makes no sense if they had chosen the ponies she doesn't do work so it wouldn't have helped her now would it). I just think that there are other kids there that need to be lead, that need to do some work and they don't. And then all these others thinking they are the mightyest of all, and the ones that are the quite ones that do their job and say nothing are the ones that get overlooked for the gold star.

I still think that maybe the council should have voted for the gold star winner. And then at the end of the season rewarded the kids. And maybe for calling their parents, they could've done prizes some other way. Or maybe do the gold star, the prize was the phone call and wait til the end of the season to tell them its worth 20,000.00. So basically it be treated like a trophy.

I'm still waiting for the town to burn down.
Me too, Jeff!  :cmas11

I watched only one ep at the beginning of the season, and it about drove me up the wall!!  Then recently, I was flipping channels and an older girl (i think Taylor?) was singing Amazing Grace and I just melted.  She has a beautiful voice and I loved listening.  But didn't stick around for the rest of that ep or anytime since.

Is this show worth continuing into future seasons?  I don't know, it just seems like complete chaos to me.  Are the children learning anything that would help them in their future??  ???

Im soooooooo happy Hunter got the gold star!

When they chose the arcade, I already knew what was going to happen. I mean when the council the first few shows had to choose they even said "people won't be working cause they will be playing on that" - I think the water slide maybe! Or no, cause they didn't win that reward. Ummm I forget what it was then :lol3:

Rudy, I believe there is a season 2 already getting started - somewhere that starts with a C, I can't remember.

Rudy, I went back to page 3 and its rumored to be a season 2 in the Czech Republic. I know they were already doing casting calls for season 2 right when this season started so I dunno ??? I think my neices should be sent, I mean ....
