Who do ya'll think will get elected?

This is my prediction.

Blue: Greg? Or Mallory.

Green: Hopefully Morgan or Michael. Hopefully just not Sophia. She may be a leader but shes way too bossy.

Red: Im not really sure? I just hope not Mike cause im tired of his "SHUTTUP EVERYBODY" :lol3:

Yellow: Zach

And while Taylor has even gotten on my nerves and I really did like her I am getting so tired of them jumping down her throat. Yes its her job to lead, I get that but omg they are so mean to her. And shes mean right back I won't disagree but does it really need 4 people in her face?

Technically this week Taylor did not have to do anything. They were upperclass and correct me if im wrong but isn't that what upperclass did back then?

I would see why Taylor doesn't have to do all of the hard work and such when she's in the Upper tier, but when she's in the kitchen, she should try to be a role model for the younger kids and do the work given to her. Root beer shots is not showing respect to the rest of the town when there's a ton of dirty dishes that need to be cleaned. And this is the third week out of four for them being in there, so why can't she just lose the attitude and do the work like she's supposed to?

The other kids were just sick and fed up with her kicking back and doing nothing when she has a job to do. Perhaps yelling in her face wasn't the smartest thing to do. I think they could have handled it a little better by asking her if she could go to the kitchen and some of the clean the dishes. If she can do some of the dishes, then it's better than none.

Last night's episode was pretty good.  My kids kept screaming to pick the mini golf.
I still don't know where they got these kids.  I have taught religious ed. for the past 8 years and I know for a fact kids would rather be having fun than reading the bible.   I don't think I have ever heard my kids say "I can't wait to go to church" or "let's read the bible as a family" and we go to church every week.  I know as a kid I didn't like going to church or having to go to religious ed until I was 18.

I loved the fact some of the kids wanted to check out each other's religions.  My kids have been to Hindu cremations, Buddist celebrations, Jewish Barmitzvahs and love learning about other religions.

It was funny how some of the kids didn't realize that they were under the Protestant catagory too.

:pull They have already tried to just ask Taylor to go to the kitchen and do some dishes. She told them they would all have to just starve! And her answer to the dishes, " pageant queens don't do dishes!"  When she threatened her own team and said if they did not shut up, that they would be scrubbing toilets with the green team, that was just uncalled for. She is dishing all of this disrespect out, and then thinks they should all kiss her beauty queen butt. I do hope they put her  out of the counsel next week. She is failing herself and the town.

As far as her being in the upper class last week, The other groups of kids who were in the upper class position seemed to be doing a lot of stuff to help out. Taylor,  it's not just that she didn't do anything, but when she made fun of the laborers? MY BUTT IS NOT SHINY ENOUGH!  :groan: I am waiting for her to pull a Daniele and start whining next week, It's not faaaaiiiiirrrr! I want to be on the cooouuunnsseell......  :groan:

Morgan was really great last night, they gave the star to the right one. I really liked the conversation at the beginning between Sophia and Morgan about why they were put on this earth. When Morgan and Sophia were talking about God, I think Morgan handled the conversation very well. I also liked Sophia telling her that she should not be down, that she was the most liked person there. I thought her concern and just plain love for the little ones shown and her consoling when Cody left was very commendable.  :jam:

Zack chasing Blaine to get him to do dishes, Blaines face,  PRICELESS  :lol3:

Poor Green team, I don't know why they keep losing. They have won three, out of the four gold stars, so far. I really wanted to see them win over yellow. Even if yellow does become the laborers, you won't see Taylor doing anything then either, so I guess it doesn't really matter.  :groan:

In real life, you don't get paid if you do not work, maybe they should not pay the ones who are not doing any work at all ???  Even in 1885 you had to work for your money. Nobody likes a slacker.

Olivia!!  I don't think her remark that she knew what she believed and did not want to hear about anyone elses view on religion was not very christianlike. You can listen to others beliefs, that doesn't mean that you have to change your own religious beliefs.  I think it made some of the kids, kinda hurt that she said that. I thought she should have been there, (was she?) when they were comparing the bibles of some of the different religions. I thought it was so enlightening that some were surprised and kind of relieved that they said pretty much of the same thing in the first chapter. I think they learned a really good lesson when they did this.

Morgan got a lot of them together, for those who wanted to have a service of sort, not forcing them to do something religious if they did not want to. By Morgan stating it the way she did, she got a group of diverse kids together, no matter what they believed in. There is a big difference saying, only if you want to, not that you have to.  :yess:

I was annoyed at the group of kids who kept interrupting Anjay and then mimed his actions. They would not have wanted anyone to do that to them. I thought it was very disrespectful, but yes disrespectful Taylor was right there in it.

Jared.... making his own golf game was brilliant.   :yess: That is what kids in 1885 had to do anyway, make up games. They did not have balls and clubs back then, and for him to make his own was great.
The meditation was also soooo cute.

I will let you know what my grand says later after we watch it.

Also has anyone noticed how this thing is being edited? I rewatched the eps yesterday, and in the first eps, Sophia has the purse that she bought in a later episode with her when she danced in the street for the bike.

ratings are in and its not looking good for you guys

Not looking so hot in the hour is CBS' "Kid Nation" (2.0/6 in 18-49, 7.0 million viewers overall), which has seen consistent declines since its Sept. 19 premiere and finished fifth in its time period among young adults. Fox's "Back to You" is also struggling, hitting another low at 8 o'clock (2.2/7 in 18-49, 6.5 million viewers overall).

That's okay, I will still continue to watch and see what the kids learn next.  :waves:

My grandson said he did not know about a lot of different religions and thought it was great that they did finally all get together to pray. He said it doesn't matter what you believe, it was them all getting together that was good.

He could not understand the first part where the boys were eating breakfast and fighting about the different religions. He finally said "that's racist against other peoples beliefs"  :o

About Taylor and her smart self, he just simply said " she's not right in the head or something"  :lol3:

He laughed at Colby and the girlfriend thing, said he could not believe that he would just want to go home to see a girl.  :lol3:

He commented that he thought Morgan did right, that she told people to come only if they wanted to. He said that he thought that was why nobody went with the counsel, because they told them that they had to do it.   :yess:

He was rooting for the green team to win the challenge. Could not believe that yellow was the cooks again, said they were going to starve out there.

He likes Jared, says he is funny. He also commented "Greg is doing a lot better", but thought Zack or Morgan should get the star.

When Olivia was talking he just said that she should not put down others for not being the same as she was. He goes to church every Sunday and he said that nobody should put down somebody else for going to their own church. Thought it was "cool" that the holy books were closely the same.

He loves golf, so when he saw the golf clubs and balls, he said he would pick the golf, but after they showed all of them reading all of the different books, he said they made the right choice because they were all learning about each other and stuff.

He always wants to know if I know what the next one will be about. When I told him that they were going to have an election for new counsel members, he said,  :yess: Taylor is out of there.  :lol3:

I think this is a great show. I really think it's interesting to see how kids deal with adult situations and topics such as religion and politics.

I'm glad they are having an election next week? Taylor is a clear example of a bossy, spoiled little girl.

Heading in the other direction was CBS' "Kid Nation" (2.1/6 in 18-49, 6.91m), which finished fifth in the time period among young adults. With "Jericho" on the bench for midseason, the Eye must at least be considering a shift that would return the back-from-the-dead drama to its old timeslot.

I want to point out im not sticking up for Taylor but I felt bad for how they treated her in week 1 when she and OTHERS from the yellow team (Zach comes to mind) hadn't even ate themselves and Sophia was yelling about how they hadn't done the dishes. Come on!

That's okay, I love Jericho. I tape the show or let my grandson watch online anyway .

Mama, I felt bad at first for Taylor too. It was all new to all of them. I also thought that week one, Sophia jumped the gun a little bit there.

I thought Taylor would do better, but when she said that they were not cleaning the toilets good enough, that her butt was not shiny enough yet, when she was on the upper class week three, and was telling her own team to shut up or they would be cleaning the toilets with the green team  :groan: I could not believe it.

If she would just try and not sit around all day doing nothing, when she should be at least helping to cook and do dishes, (she is getting that pay) I think the other kids would lay off of her. She is only ten, but the way she laughs at them, when they tell her she is not doing her job, well kids will be kids, and tell her what they think. On the other hand, if we adults see a political leader, not doing their job, we reelect as soon as we can also. You have to admit, the dishes are just discusting laying all over the place.

That is a lot of dishes to do, for a bunch of little kids. I wish I could suggest to them to have dishwater ready, and everybody wash their own plate and utensils, then the cooks would only have to do the cooking utensils and clean up the kitchen.

Im 24 and a mom to three but even I can't stand doing pots and pans. Or dishes for that matter lol.  :pull

I do think that Taylor felt unappreciated in week 1 when Sophia was being a total boss cat. But I dunno! I know Taylor is doing wrong right now, and sometimes I see her jokes as something the other kids take serious, kwim? I couldn't believe she said that about them cleaning toilets either, but I also think the older kids on the green team have said things that they shouldn't have (thats my opinion - about kicking the yellow kids' butts, I don't think its so they have to be laborers that they try to make it out to be, I think its pure jealousy that the little kids are beating them).

Mama - WOW three kids at 24.  I had no clue what I was doing in my life at 24 I give you a lot of credit.  I didn't even get married until I was 28.  I never liked doing dishes but now my kids take turns doing them so I am off the hook.

I liked this week much better than last--what about the rest of y'all?

Last week felt overly contrived to me--but this week felt much more real.

Did anyone else get just a little choked up when Greg won his gold star? He knew what that meant for his future.

Well--last week I couldn't find any one-liners.  :'(  But this week....heeee! :jumpy:

Y'all vote!

I liked Olivia two weeks ago when she wanted to let the Council know how her sister was doing so much for such a young person. But in the last two weeks, my God. She's being an absolute whiner. (Not as much as Taylor, thank you. But she whines in her own state of mind.) We know you have a beef with Anjay. Why the hell is this girl trying to bug the hell out of him at every second she gets?

I liked this episode a lot better too.  Hopefully, with Mike gone the kids can get a "real" reward.  I'm sure the kids were able to bring toothbrushes with them - give me a break!!!!!!

Olivia has always seemed kind of mean.  I still remember that mean Doctor Phil comment she made in the previews.

Taylor is just immature but seems like a nice girl.  The kids(laugh at her comments) and the story writers can probably easily get her to say those type of drama queen responses they just love.

I didn't like when Kelsev made that comment about President Bush being dumb.  Kids should be taught to respect figures of authority especially the President of The United States.  I don't care if you like the President or not his position should be respected.  Parents need to be careful what they say around their kids because they just repeat things not knowing the truth half the time :dick  As a kid I was taught to respect adults and always refer to them by their last name.  I teach these same values to my children and it bothers me when adults tell my kids to call them by their first name.  I don't mind if it is a friend or coach and they are refered to as Coach Ken or Auntie B :-* that still shows a sign of respect.

I was surprised Greg didn't nominate himself, Sophia also. At the end of the day, the yellow team will be much better without Taylor.

I especially liked how Laurel's District went with the whole electorial process. They talked it over first, trying to see if anyone wanted to run against her. When everyone said that they liked the job Laurel was doing, they agreed to keep her in the seat. I thought that was the best way to handle a situation like that... At least they sat together and discussed what they thought should happen.

With the gold star thing: Has anyone noticed that all of the stars have gone to Green and Blue? I'm surprised that nobody on Red or Yellow wants the star bad enough. I would hope that they'll try to step up more and at least be in consideration for one. (I mean, with the exception of Zach, I believe it was).

Georgia - Carissa wanted me to make sure I wrote to you and tell you how stupid she thinks the kids are for always chosing the lame prize.  No kids in their right mind would chose the fruits and veggies over the dirt bikes. She can see maybe one or two weeks picking a stupid prize but not every week. :pull :pull :pull

Between the two choices this week, I wouldn't have gone and picked the motorbikes either. I mean, I wouldn't want to have the slackers ride around the city all day. They wouldn't be getting paid if it was all they did. I'm so glad that they pick the right choices. At the rate they're going, they might not pick one of the distraction choices. *nods*

And guess what? Taylor doesn't like to be told what to do. "They're not the boss of me." Right... Go ahead and sit around. I hope you don't get paid. At least your beauty queen friend had the smarts to admit she wasn't doing the right thing by leaving her "chore" and helping out in the end.

Next week's episode looks like a doozy. Money management? Oh, boy.

So sorry I missed this Tammy! My service went out last week and I am just catching up!

Tell Carissa I said a big thank you for that! What was it they gave up for toothbrushes? Was that the miniature golf because that one looked awesome!

I might have have taken the fruit-but doggone it--I WANTED that miniature golf! :rotf:
