The Celebrity Apprentice A 2 Hour Season Finale Tonight

Starting on March 27th, you will have THREE ways to make your own donations to the celebrities' chosen charities.

PSMS Text Messaging
During the finale broadcast, you can lend a hand and support both finalists' charities by using your mobile phone and texting the word TRUMP to 30101. The cost per text is $1.00, plus participating service providers may charge additional text messaging fees. Net proceeds will be donated to Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund and to FAAN. Viewers who text will also receive a video message from Donald Trump thanking them for their generosity. Entrants must be 18 or older.

Live Online Auction
You now have the opportunity to bid on items seen on this season's Celebrity Apprentice. All proceeds from the online auction go directly to Piers Morgan's selected charity, Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, a not-for-profit organization that provides support for the families of military personnel lost in service. For a complete list of the items up for auction, please visit www.nbc.com/auctions. The auction runs from March 27th through April 3rd.

iTunes
Celebrity Apprentice Finalist, Trace Adkins, will be performing his hit single, "You're Gonna Miss This" live with his band during the finale. For two weeks only, you can download the charity single exclusively at iTunes.
All proceeds for the entire two weeks lifespan of the download will go to Trace's chosen charity, FAAN (Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network). FAAN is the largest charity in the world dedicated to helping and advocating for the 12 million who suffer from food allergies.

Heh! I respect all the conflicting opinions but I'm a Piers fan, but really which ever one wins tonight is fine with me. I did notice in last weeks show that Piers took notice that Stephen wasn't performing his task and you could see the wheels turning in his head. That's what makes him a good businessman, he sees problems and finds a solution.

Can't wait to see tonight's finale!  :yess:  I was very skeptical about this season with celebs but it has turned out to be excellent.

About Omarosa, I have no doubt she'll turn up somehow to add to the drama. :meow:

:-* Hey TL I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one that was a fan of Piers.

I realized talking to my girl that I think I like the "bad boy" tough foul mouthed men like Piers Evel Dick and Gordon Ramsay.

:groan: I think I need help

I did get a hold of Piers and congratulated him on a job well done.

If anyone wants Piers myspace here it is in the link:  http://www.myspace.com/piersmorgan

First of all thank you ca bb fan for the great update on tonights Apprentice.

And what is it with these bad guys?  What draws us in?  I guess it's because I see the soft side just as much as I see the fight to the end side.  I'm going to Piers myspace and leave a job well done, too.  Thanks for the info on that.

Oh thank you thats so nice of you to say.

You are so right these guys do have a soft side they are just competitive and have a way of words it doesn't make them bad.

I believe even Carol Alt liked Piers they got along just fine.

Thanks ca bb fan, for all the info and photos. :hugs: Great coverage from you and apskip, who I also say thanks to!

Well, my GENTLEman Trace didn't win, but it was close.  The Donald was torn between them, but Piers did win a lot of projects & did a great job in spite of the things I didn't like about him.  :res:

The highlight of the show for me was Trace singing his new song.  But the whole show was great.

I only saw the last hour.  Piers did do a good job from what I saw.  I really think ti came down to who raised the most money.  I think, correct me if i am wrong, that Trace and Piers split the money earned at athe auction.  This means Trace still helped out his charity tremendously and the awareness was great.  I loved when he sang and will be downloading it this weekend.

I do have to say that I think Piers did imply his donars were better due to the $$ they gave.  I thougth Trace showed character for standing up for his friends.

They both did well and it was a good finally.

Good job ca bb! LOL on needing help. I loved the finale, all except for Ivanka's question in the board room. Bedside manner?  :lol3:

Honestly there was no way on earth that Piers wouldn't win, his charity was for wounded servicemen and he did raise the most money. I do hope that Trace's daughter and children like her can be helped. That is also needed research. My neighbor's grandson who she takes care of has the same type of food allergy. He can't eat so many things that other children can and she says the list of things is growing which makes it even worse.

I just spoke with apskip and he asked me to pass on his thanks for all the get well wishes and a little update.

While still in the hospital, he is in very good spirits and is recovering nicely and is hoping to be able to go home soon, possibly even by tomorrow or the next day.

He also said that the most recent Apprentice recap is done but will need him to be at home to be able to upload it here --due to that hospital's archaic lack of computer access for its patients !

Thanks to all for the concern, and I'll update y'all tomorrow if he isn't home and able to do it himself.  :hugs:

'CELEBRITY APPRENTICE' SURGES 41 PERCENT IN ADULTS 18-49 AND 51 PERCENT IN TOTAL VIEWERS VERSUS THE MOST RECENT 'APPRENTICE' FINALE IN APRIL 2007

BURBANK, Calif. March 28, 2008 Paced by the finale of "The Celebrity Apprentice," which was the #1 telecast of the night in adults 18-49 and total viewers, NBC is currently #1 for Thursday night in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures, according to "fast affiliate-based" "live plus same day" viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research (pending updates).

This was the top-scoring finale in "The Apprentice" franchise in both adults 18-49 and total viewers since the conclusion of "The Apprentice 4" on December 15, 2005. Last night's "Celebrity Apprentice" finale was up 41 percent in 18-49 rating and 51 percent in total viewers versus the most recent finale in "The Apprentice" franchise (a 3.2/8 in 18-49 and 8.0 million viewers overall for the finale of "The Apprentice 6" on Sunday, April 22, 2007).

From its first half-hour to its second, "Deal" increased by 36 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 3.4/9 from a 2.5/6) and by 27 percent of 2.6 million persons in total viewers (to 12.5 million from 9.9 million). "Deal" delivered NBC's highest 18-49 and total viewer results in this time period in six weeks (since February 14).

Pending updates, NBC ranked #1 on Thursday night in adults 18-49, total viewers and other key measures. Preliminary 18-49 averages for Thursday night are: NBC, 4.0/11; CBS, 3.8/10; Fox, 2.8/8; ABC, 1.9/5; CW, 1.4/4. In overall total viewers, March 27 preliminary results are: NBC, 11.8 million; CBS, 9.7 million; Fox, 8.7 million; ABC, 6.0 million; CW, 3.3 million. Great news, peach.  I'm glad he's ok and will be back soon.

---------
cc bb fan, thanks for the info about the Apprentice ratings etc.

I've thought that since The Celeb edition was so great and very well received, perhaps Trump & Burnett should consider having only Celebs from now on and invite one person from a different season...like they did this time with Omarosa.
Or, maybe it'd be better to not invite a regular person and have ONLY celebs.  What do you all think?

 :-* Hey RudyRules

I'm glad you enjoyed the season as well. That's a great idea or maybe they can give us 2 seasons a year one for the regular Apprentice and one Celebrity edition. I enjoy watching the original one because I find that it's great to see what new and innovative ideas the regular contestants can come up with.

I wonder if Omarosa will return as a villain or maybe they can substitute her with Piers the newly crowned villain or bad guy. I don't know whether he would be willing to do something like that again or can fit it into his schedule but who knows I think he enjoyed the challenge.

On a side note Rudy did you watch Hell's Kitchen because you said you were willing to try watch it.

What does one do laid up in a hospital for 6 days? Why watch Tv shows and write recaps wherever appropriate. NBC was one that was on my hopital cable lineup (the Travel Channel was not), so I saw the 2 hour Celebrity Apprentice finale in its entirety. If only Donald Trump had applied this much class to Kelly vs. Jennifer or Randal vs. Rebecca?

So, it's  Good (personified by Trace Adkins) vs. Evil (personified by Piers Morgan) with Trace making his opening statement "I'm gonna kick your ass." HUH? Since when does the Good guy say that? That sounds like a desperate man holding on to the back of his saddle while laid our over the horse's rear end so as to not get thrown off. The charities were the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network and the Fallen Heroes foundation benefitting U.S. and British soldiers wounded in the Iraq War.

Stephen has tried to sell tickets for the event to his contacts, with almost total lack of success. Is he an inside saboteur?
Although he is really pissed at Stephen, Piers is diplomatic by apolgizing to him for having suggested that Stephen did not contribute much to the success of Piers team effort.

Trace has had to find a leg brace for one fo the Back Street boys and a tube of black nail polish. He is really disgusted by having to do the latter. Trace appears to be feeling the pressure.

On to the Auction! There were only a few items that really mattered in the final Piers total of $373,000.  Tea with The Duchess of York(Sarah Ferguson) brought $1000,000 from a senionr executive of Cantor Fitzgerald, a large financial industry firm that lost over 700 employees at the World Trade Center on 9/11/2001. They also bid $100,000 for the 2 tickets for Andrew Lloyd Webber's new production in London. Piers pulled off a total coup by having dinner with Ivanka Trump plus $10,000 to spend on diamonds with her personal escort. An in-person bidder was very interested in this this, but he stood no chance against Simon Cowell bidding remotely up to the $100,000 which won it. Trace had a total of $62K. He knew he was being badly beaten up.

Trace won the ticket sales by $38K to $12k(Trace should thank Stephen for his non-selling that is keeping Trace alive).

So everything else goes into a Miscellaneous category. Trump chooses to asks the other 14 contestants, include Gene Simmons live from Tokyo, who he should pick. About 11 unequivocally say Trace. Stephen finally reveals that he was a turncoast since he strongly prefers Trace. Omarosa was given two chances to ask questions or make statements of Piers but she muffed each pitch and lost her chance. But you know what, Trump has already demonstrated his contempt for such public opinion polls so he will completely ignore this one. It's up to Trace to make final statement after he has performed his newest hit single to benefit his charity directly(probably a recgnition in advance that Trace would need the money since he wasn't going to get much out of the formula. Trace emphasizes how her and Piers set the ground rules for both teams to work together to optimize the results for charity, which actually happened. Piers makes his statement as to why he deserves it and he focuses on how much money he has achieved for charity,  and how his style is much like that of one Donald Trump, maybe a bit ruthless at times.

With time running out to too much speechifying earlier by others(including Gene Simmons) Trump decides that Piers wins and is the Celebrity Apprentice.

Thanks Apskip, once again a brilliant synopsis.

I got a little tired of the good vs evil theme which we first started hearing little whispers about a few episodes back then full force when the 2 were chosen as finalists. I thought it was mostly a ploy since when do you worry about being a nice guy in business. Doing the right thing yes, but being nice isn't how I believe The Donald got where he is.

I'm so glad you are out of the hospital, you were sorely missed.  :-*
