Looking closer at the temple it seems the elephants more closely resemble a "criosphinx" or ram-headed sphinx. They were mostly in the Thebes area, esp. Karnak. What does it mean? If it's a re-creation, it means...nothing :-\. This place may turn into the Puesta del Sol for this season.

Nope; it just looks too unweathered, even shiny, to match any shots I've seen of real temples. In the Sobek cap, you can even see what looks like the skeleton of an unfinished column. A movie set (maybe related to the chariot races)? An outdoor theme museum? I have no idea, it's a puzzle

. What makes it a little more difficult is that if it's not genuine, then it doesn't necessarily sit in Egypt.

thats very true. notice in the tar2 intro flash they had a pharoh in there when they didnt visit anywhere that envolved egypt in it.

Don't forget, the Puesta Del Sol intro flash took 2 weeks to solve....we've been working on the Sobek thingie for only 2-3 days...

Plenty of time left....besides, any potential Egypt leg is a good month or more away.

It's a challenge......

im thinking it has to be somewhere that was mentioned in the torah/bible/old testimate or whatever u call it lol. i thought i was on the right trail from this pic http://www.greatcommission.com/egypt/376.jpg but i looked through all of the nile delta and found nuttin

I hear you puddin. Just like the (modern) Puesta Del Sol adobe, the Sobek thingie may not be authentic, so how do you look for a fake thing?

Come to think of it, where on earth do you look for it. Like slowhatch said, it could be anywhere...well, almost anywhere...well, anywhere with a lot of sand....

We just have to think like a crocodile god....so, if I were a crocodile god, where would I be hiding......hmmmm.....let me see......hmmmmmm.....

Found this on a temple in Vietnam: "The temple, acknowledged by the state as an historic site, is a low building. On the tip of the roof are the traditional symbols found on Vietnamese religious structures: two dragons bowing to a flaming disk that represents the sun." The sun is pretty evident in the caps, so it's probably not China.

Spoilerers take note: Vietnam has a Forbidden City of it's own at Hue with dragons everywhere, it's one of the places where Flo broke down in TAR3.

I don't think they're North Vietnameses.

North Vietnamese skin tones are lighter. It's colder up North.

Their facial features look more like Thais, Cambodians or Laotians. Their skins are darker since they live near the equator.
