That's when Phil and CBS asked fans to be in Times Square; exactly when Phil releases the teams depends on what TPTB want to film with the fans present before they're sent on their way.

A lot of the production crew on the lower left part of the live cam (near the American flag pole). They seem to be discussing something.

yea the area is filling up...we are still 2 hours away but i cant stay off that cam..ughh it's gonna be a long night (for good reason)!

The teams will probably get the pre-race talk (and possibly even the interviews) off site, then go to Times Square a few minutes before 3 AM and then a few minutes after 3, the usual explanation of the race, a twist (if there is one), and the famous "Good Luck, Travel Safe, GO!".

Exactly. Im sure they are at some hilton or marriott somewhere getting the talk.

maybe a start line task is to run around times square and look above on the video boards for a clue on the 1st destination city.
