From Boingo's link, note the address of this place:

Caverna Moto Peças- Rua Guaianazes, 340 – (11) 221.8270

The first image below is their sign.  The second image is the shop with the fancy sidewalk in front.  The next image is a mapping of the shop's address.  See that it is just down the street from Tiger Moto.

The last image is from the promo and we see the tiled sidewalk!

 Second that. I didn't even see the tiling as the motorcycle moved forward. Bikertown (are guaianases and guaianazes the same?) is also close to the viaduto.
On a different subject:

I heard "boniqua" too. But they've lived in Puerto Rico and I'm thinking maybe it's "Team Boriqua."

Could the hills be recycled from Huashan, Xian, China? There's a disproportionately large amount of recycled footage from TAR6.

Is the waterfall also recycle or is it a new destination?

And the van, is is going in a a desert or is it snow?  Also recycle or new?

These have been bugging me for the past few days.  The waterfalls I think may be the Iguazu Falls on the Paraguay, Brazil, ARgentina border, but they are very far away from Sao Paulo, like 1110 KM.  And from the pictures I have seen from these falls they are way bigger and more masive than the picture we see on the preview.  What do you guys think?

I have the waterfalls TAR6 , and for sure the Van is recycled I just dont remember which season ( I dont get GSN  :-\ ) ?
and what Neobie wrote ,I was looking at Mt Hua too but no luck getting a match .
And ApprenticeFan is right the Volkswagon Beetle was phased out circa late 1990's with the factories being in Mexico, thats why I think its a junker ...I could see all the teams having to drive these to wherever ..maybe TPTB got them from Rent a Wreck  ? Just searching Brazil and you can find lots of old Beetle bugs they're pretty popular there .

The van shot was when TAR6 teams took four or five shuttle vans up onto the largest glacier in Europe (Iceland that is).

Well, give the TAR producers credit -- the recycled stuff is throwing us off their trail here at the end. Let me see if I can generate a concise list of all the postings from the last couple days regarding route/tasks...

So here's route spec based on the last few days of replies. Given the dates, I think we actually have all the stops. The actual PIT STOPS might not be exactly in the cities listed, but they should be close. As for mileage, I think there must be some significant driving miles to fill in the gaps. There's just not room in the dates for any major legs we don't know about. Anyway, here goes... note that Episodes 1 & 12 are TWO-HOUR single episodes divided into 2 chunks each below...

EPISODE 1 (HOUR 1)
START: Denver (November 7, 2005)
Red Rocks Amphitheatre, I-70, various reddish rock formations surrounding teams in cars, sighting in airport
FINISH: Sau Paulo, Brazil (overnight at Pacaembu County Stadium) (November 9, 2005)
Via de Ifgenia bridge, helipad/helicopter task, motorcycle task, stadium
MILEAGE COVERED: apx 5751 miles (plane) + driving/helicopter miles
TEAMS LEFT AFTER EPISODE: 11

EPISODE 1 (HOUR 2)
START: Sau Paulo, Brazil (Pacaembu County Stadium) (November 10, 2005)
FINISH: Brazil location B (November 10, 2005)
Lots of spec as to where, but they probably take a Santa Rita bus to get there
Earlier mention of Iguazu Falls in an Australian promo, but could be recycled AND it’s quite far from Sao Paulo
Possible location of VW bugs
MILEAGE COVERED: apx 100-500 miles? (bus) + driving miles
TEAMS LEFT AFTER EPISODE: 10

EPISODE 2
START: Brazil location B (November 11, 2005)
FINISH: Oman (November 13, 2005)
Mentioned in TV Guide
Oman might be a leg further down on the agenda, but Phil’s phone call (around 11/11) puts it around here.
The flight to Oman here with some “backtracking” to Europe also accounts for some additional mileage missing from the route.
MILEAGE COVERED: apx 6748 miles (plane) + driving miles
TEAMS LEFT AFTER EPISODE: 9

EPISODE 3
START: Oman (November 14, 2005)
FINISH: Rome, Italy (November 16, 2005)
Mentioned by “witness”?, 9 teams remaining at this point, task assembling statue
MILEAGE COVERED: apx 2965 miles (plane) + driving miles

EPISODE 4
START: Rome, Italy (November 17, 2005)
FINISH: Sicily (November 18, 2005)
Mentioned in TV Guide
Shots of ruins at Segesta
MILEAGE COVERED: apx 250 miles + driving miles

EPISODE 5
START: Sicily (November 19, 2005)
FINISH: Corinth, Greece by way of Athens (November 20, 2005)
Parthenon in Athens, bungee jumping at canal in Corinth
MILEAGE COVERED: apx 475 miles (plane) + driving miles

EPISODE 6
START: Corinth, Greece (November 20, 2005)
FINISH: Moscow, Russia (November 21, 2005)
Ballet, tomb of the unknown soldier, St. Basil’s footage
MILEAGE COVERED: apx 1400 miles (plane) + driving miles

EPISODE 7
START: Moscow, Russia (November 22, 2005)
FINISH: Perth/Rottnest, Australia (November 24, 2005)
From here on, the dates get pretty locked in
Sighting in Perth/Rottnest ON these dates at Woodside building, Fremantle prison, lunch stop
MILEAGE COVERED: apx 7576 miles (plane) + driving miles

EPISODE 8
START: Perth/Rottnest, Australia (November 25, 2005)
FINISH: TO BE CONTINUED
This is a likely spot for a TBC leg, since we know they stay in the country until Darwin, which is not within easy driving distance of Perth (in other words, Perth & Darwin are probably not in the same episode)
Boat footage in preview could be ferry to Fremantle Prison (look at water off Perth on Google earth compared to aerial shots of boat in TAR9 previews)
MILEAGE COVERED: apx 1000 miles? + driving miles

EPISODE 9 (continued from Episode 8 )
START: PICK UP FROM TO BE CONTINUED (November 25/26, 2005)
FINISH: Darwin, Australia (November 26, 2005)
Crocodylus Park
Waterskiing footage here?
MILEAGE COVERED: apx 700 miles? + driving miles

EPISODE 10
START: Darwin, Australia (November 27, 2005)
FINISH: Lopburi Thailand (via Adelaide, Australia and/or Bangkok) (November 28, 2005)
Dates locked in because of monkey festival dates in Lopburi
Couple spotted in Adelaide trying to get to Bangkok
MILEAGE COVERED: apx 2610 miles (flying) + driving miles

EPISODE 11
START: Lopburi, Thailand (November 29, 2005)
FINISH: Tokyo, Japan (November 30, 2005)
Shots of shopping district, Mt. Fuji
MILEAGE COVERED: apx 2555 miles (flying) + driving miles

EPISODE 12 (HOUR 1)
START: Tokyo, Japan (December 1, 2005)
FINISH: Anchorage, Alaska (December 2, 2005) – might be pit stop or just rest stop
Rusts flying service, skiing (if this isn’t Fran/Barry in CO footage?), sighting in airport
MILEAGE COVERED: apx 3487 miles (flying) + driving/biplane miles

EPISODE 12 (HOUR 2)
START: Anchorage, Alaska (December 3, 2005)
FINISH: Denver, Colorado (December 3, 2005)
Do we have any real evidence of Denver as the finish city or could this be a decoy?
It would be an easy decoy to set up.
MILEAGE COVERED: apx 2378 miles (flying) + driving miles

Yeah, it would be interesting to know how much driving typically adds to mileage in the Race. Plane-wise, it's almost impossible to get to 60-70,000 miles. I don't see how they possibly got that number based on how tight the dates are in this race.

I don't know if anyone has posted this link, but here's a list of day-trips from Sao Paulo on Santa Rita... spec away...

As to the route spec above, Rome/Sicily could be potentially combined, but even so -- where they gonna go in 2 days to make up for some mileage? Same could be said for the Australian legs. You could squeeze in another leg or two, but they have to go to close-by places right after those legs (Greece, Thailand), so unless they go way WAY out of their way...

that was alot of work mwooden , thankyou !!

I guess no one is buying Africa on the route .. :cocky: ? unless as someone mentioned it is just what it says , " a stop ".

The top-rated, three-time Emmy-winning CBS show returns Feb. 29, with 11 pairs of contestants on a world trek with stops in Africa and The Middle East.

I figure if that article got the date wrong, their credibility goes down a little.  ???

As for Africa, I'm guessin' that if they fly from Sao Paulo to Oman, there's a little layover in Cairo or something.

If there's another leg, it's gotta be right in that Europe area, dontcha think? It can't be before Rome, b/c there need to be nine teams left at that leg. It can't be anywhere after Moscow, because all those dates are locked in.

Maybe they do kind of a long distance leap instead of a direct route, like in TAR6 when they went from Sweden to SENEGAL to Germany, instead of just Sweden to Germany. That probably added like 5000 or 6000 miles right there. But if they don't go to Africa, where are they leaping? Maybe Rome to Oman to Greece instead of Oman to Rome to Greece? Dunno.

Maybe they take a plane up on a glacier or Mt. McKinley and have to ski down? Although, if that ski footage is from the actual race & not Fran & Barry pre-footage, would the Race have given them matching jackets for the task?

what if they get mugged earlier in the race and those are their new jackets? just a thought. i'm rooting for them all the way!

The race begins in Denver, Colorado when teams quickly jet off to their first location, Sao Paulo, Brazil where, upon landing, they must venture deep into the heart of the city to find their next clue at the Hotel Unique. Almost immediately, teams make their way by foot to Viaduto Santa Ifigenia, a pedestrian footbridge overlooking the highway and the Vale do Anhangabuau. One team struggles to locate the clue box, while other teams seem to find it with ease.

At the bridge, teams are faced with their first detour and must choose between finding a local motorcycle shop, where they will have to assemble a motorcycle from scratch, or soar high above the city of San Paolo in a helicopter in order to locate a specific building where they will find their next clue
