Meanwhile, Hung & Chee and Riley & Maddison are still duking it out. Hung & Chee gets a check, and their whole earth collapses - literally.

Congratulations Will & James!
It was hard not to be happy for them when they crossed the finish line, but I can't stop smiling at their Engagement. What a perfect ending for them!

Hung & Chee after 33,000 miles racing around the world, I'm pleased to tell you you are TEAM NUMBER TWO!"

They talk about the race being their honeymoon they never had.

Riley & Madisson are officially TEAM NUMBER THREE. They are visually disappointed.

All teams are hugging it out and the camera pans out with a group photo from above.

Mardi gras world could have been a perfect spot for the memory challenge, imagine they had to search stuff around the mardi grass and its floats for stuff they have encountered on the race

Overall a decent leg, the only task that was brutal was beignet task, but yeah its pretty much linear finale

Well that was anticlimactic and predictable to the end good job TAR32.

Hopefully the show survives and we can safely resume 33. Nowhere to go but up.

The globe should've been a memory task.  Or put together a mini-float with things from the race and then push it down Bourbon Street.

I really liked the tasks this finale on the cultural aspect, though transferring the music task to this leg instead and leaving a relevant cultural task as the last task before the Pit Stop back in Manila would have been awesome. The globe is pretty general knowledge.

Holy cow, the missed opportunity with the jazz band at the French Quarter as well as the teledisco. :groan:

I admit they're not my first choice to win (I thought they would be a little bit more like the Beekmans) but they ran a pretty flawless race, took full advance of their traveling experiences advance as well as past and recent seasons lessons and literally grabbed the win in THE END.

James begins talking about being a superfan of the race and applying various times until getting on the 32nd season.

Kaylynn & Haley - "we're proud of you. We're so happy for you."
Does they having a time of speech mean they actually get a chance of returning?  :luvya:
Like CaroJen did in Season 22  :hfive:

Meanwhile, the editing of this finale is strange.. They don't even attempt to make any suspense on the winning of Will & James  :groan:

This season starts out strong, keeps deteriorating since India, and the finale is one of the worst in recent seasons  :groan:

The city is also known for musical stuffs (jazz) so it would have been perfect to set up the task in this leg instead on Manila's

Leg design wise, I can't help but seriously admire the amount of tasks sandwiched in- the production team really made use of the locations and I'm sure they're proud of that! Between traveling by washboard, adding a second rappel task, and adding in a little clue that fit the Jazz aesthetic, there were little task-ettes that made the leg shine.

However, it wasn't super challenging, and besides the King Cake RB, which was luck-based (maybe a little skill?) there unfortunately wasn't much room for teams to advance themselves.

Perhaps Will & James would have passed the others if they were last to the first RB, but instead they only expanded their lead. Like Peach said, a memory task would have been fantastic. I didn't think the Crescent City Connection added much to the leg and the French Quarter could easily have served as the adrenaline-heavy venue of the leg, replacing the typical means of adding craziness to final legs.

All in all, I respected the production teams' willingness to become more flexible with ARIs replacing Detours/Roadblocks, a la HaMerotz LaMillion; hopefully the next step can be making these ARI more challenging and permitting of placement shifts.

At least it's a better featured visit. :funny:

Louisiana was treated more like a city on a road trip than a leg.

That leads to an interesting discussion: is it better to have a lot of tasks in a finale that aren't too difficult or time consuming or to have not as many tasks but the tasks are all difficult and time consuming?

I feel like the gap between Will & James and Hung & Chee were a blowout. After they left Cafe Beignet, who knows how long Chee took to locate the missing baby. It became pretty obvious who was going to win when Hung & Chee were two task-ettes behind them when they were en route to the convention center.

Does anyone know if Will and James have had their wedding?  They at least had about a year until the virus shut everything down.  I wish them the best

They were supposed to get married last October but due to the pandemic, they rescheduled their wedding to March 2021.

Well, all I have to say is that the tasks on this leg were fantastic. I really enjoyed the night finale in NOLA and was glad there was no "hand-holding" on this leg. Disappointed about Will & James winning. They were master manipulates throughout the entire season and and if they didn't have the Mine Five alliance, hey would have been out several legs earlier.

Hopefully 33 & 34 can get back out there mid-2021 once the pandemic has subsided and for goodness sake, BAN ALLIANCES!

Currently waiting for the casual fans to be extremely excited about the winning team... a few have already had a go at me on Facebook, Twitter & Instagram!  :funny:
