Or maybe TARFE II.

A TARFE II would be good. BUT, provided they really do a family race AROUND THE WORLD and not just in the USA. :groan:
how about TAR College Edition? Teams of 4 Grads and/or Undergrads, teams could be from the same major, club, frat/sorotity, sports team, etc.

I wonder if for a first, TAR 15 starts outside the continental US (like Hawaii or Guam) and the route is from east to west. That's possible, right?

It has already gone east to west before

cdfe, I was talking about starting outside the continental US as the first, not the whole east-west thing. It just seems fit if they start with where I think they'll start.

Raymond,
I have no idea where you think they will start, but with 14 seasons all starting in the U.S. why do you think AR15 will be different? Teams could visit Canada or Mexico or the Caribbean later on their first or next-to-last legs, but I don't expect that World Race Productions will have the start outside the lower 48 states. They would just stick out too much in pre-race preparation if in Alaska or Hawaii and increase the probability that the start of the race is observed.

I realize that in the past two years the precedent of finishing in the lower 48 has been abolished with finishes in Alaska and Hawaii, but I do not think that will happen to the start. The best reason I will cite is the relationships that World Race Productions has developed with sponsors like American Airlines, who benefit from a lower 48 start.

I don't think they will start outside of the USA, nor will they end the race outside of USA. Probably because this is still an american show, not like TAR Asia or what..

If TAR 15 goes as planned, and swine flu gets affected by it, maybe they'll start in Florida, LA and NY have more cases than any other state in the US right now... so I would doubt they'ed start there. THAT IS, if the threat of swine flu is pandemic - and the race is continued as scheduled.

Otherwise, prepare to see LAX again!  :yess: :jumpy: :hearts:  :funny: :funny:

Neobie, my answer is YES, they will start Amazing Races at places other than enar Los Angeles. It a cost saving since World Race Productions is in the greater LA area, but viewersa are getting sick of the LA start.

San Diego would be a nice place to start. Bakersfield would be a nice place to start. Big Sur would be a nice place to start. If they want to stay in CA for the start, there are plenty of other cities besides Los Angeles to start.

This is the reverse of 24 when they kept using LA for crises until they finally went to DC this season. TAR used to use different cities until they started with LA for several cycles now.
Just here to visit.

The actual history of Amazing Race starts in California is:

AR4 - Los Angeles
AR5 - Santa Monica
AR7 - Long Beach
AR12, 13, and 14 -  Los Angeles
I consider Long Beach and Santa Monica (completely surrounded except for the ocean by the city of Los Angeles) to be greater Los Angeles

So major california metropolitan areas never hosting thet start of an Amazing Race are:
San Francisco
Sacramento
San Jose
San Diego

Each one of those is important enough and has the air tranpsortation to get teams overseas without much difficulty. I think we will see one or mroe of those in AR15 through AR20

If TAR filming continues (well IT HAS TO (:;)) during the summer,

I think they won't be visiting countries in the Southern Hemisphere + South Africa... primarily because of flu season, (swine flu!)

 Save Spain (Iberia), France or any place in Europe that is close to Spain, and Central America for future seasons... unless the cases of Swine Flu miraculously disappears.

I hope they go to Czech Republic and the Balkan States already... Sweden, Norway, Finland or maybe Iceland is the way to go... Another visit to India, SEAsia and China or Japan would be highly probable, and another 3 continent race may be seen...

AGAIN, there are SPECULATIONS ONLY.

I could see this race being very similar to S12:
North America-> Europe
Europe-> Africa
Africa-> Europe
Europe-> Asia
and then hopefully
Asia-> Oceania
Oceania-> U.S.A.

Possible locations:
Northern Europe (Scandanavia?, Low Countries?, British Isles?)
Czech Republic
Mali or Ghana
Balkan States (Serbia?, Montenegro?, Bulgaria?)
Middle East (Qatar?, Bahrain?, U.A.E.?)
India (again...)
SE Asia (hopefully something new like: Indonesia, Brunei, East Timor)
Australia
Polynesian Islands

Hopefully, this race will have more than 11 legs (with or without TBC legs)

Possible locations:

Baltic States (Serbia?, Montenegro?, Bulgaria?)

I think you guys got this reversed.

Baltic States are Lithuania, Estonia, and Latvia. In a stretch, I guess, you could include Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Poland, and Russia, since they all have shorelines on the Baltic Sea.

The Balkan states would be Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovinia, Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Croatia and parts of Slovenia, Romania, and Turkey.

Dr. Rox has it right in his listing of the Baltic countries and the Balkan countries. The Scandanavian countries of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark are located on the Baltic Sea, but none of them are grouped as a Baltic country; they are Scandanavian countries.

Since we are speculating on where TAR15 might go where they have not gone before, I'll add my two or three cents worth:

In Europe:
Belgium - especially to Bruges
Lativa - Riga
Estonia - Tallinn
Czech Republic - Prague or Cesky Krumlov
Slovakia- Bratislava
Serbia - Belgrade
Slovenia
Bulgaria - Veliko Tarnovo

In North America:
Beliz
Guatemala

In Latin America:
Colombia
Venezuela

In Oceania:
Fiji
Tahiti

Just to name a few of the  places that TAR has not gone to.

Again, I'm going to try to predict when they might start filming TAR 15 by analyzing past dates. Sorry if this is a bit nerdy...
My guess makes a few assumptions:
TAR 15 premiers on September 20.
WRP needs an average of 112 days to edit. I fudge the edit days to 107 to fit a Friday start. (Note - the days to edit column is calculated from the start date to the air date.  I should probably throw out the edit days for TAR 1 when calculating the average.)
Race will start on a Friday.
Racers have already been selected - the auditions they did in April and May were to promote TAR 14 (and Phil's MS Ride).

So my guess - Friday June 5.

Please feel free to discuss :word:

Those edit days explain a few things about TAR's 5 and 6. Why 5 seems to have such careful editing, and why 6 seems haphazard. :groan:

But the number of days they took for 13 doesn't seem to have been worth the effort, as 13 turned out to be a rather lackluster season, in my opinion.
