That's not the first time, Puddin, dear.  When you need a new keyboard a drink just "happens to spill" on the old one :kuss:

Well, the statement by Claude the Apprentice Fan at SUCKS (and typically highly criticized there) was made on Jan. 15, 2008 that there would be 13 legs, etc. It was pure fantasy and Claude is known for that. GeorgiaPeach's suggestion to totally ignore anything from Claude is a good one.

I have drawn a line on the map of South America from Salvador to Santsa Cruz. Guess what's on it?

Brasilia is! However, I doubt that AR13 really would go there because that means that Elisee doganieri and Bertram van Munster had to go there and they are too smart for that.

Instead, about 200 miles off that line to the south lies Iguassu Falls, one of the most interesting places to visit on the globe(it is on top of my TO SEE list). I believe that would have been an excellent place for AR13 to make a stop.

The flights to get to IGU (the Brazilian side airport) are as follows:
5/24
SSA GRU JJ3859 1055 1315                OR     JJ3450  0250 0525
GRU IGU JJ3559 1420 1550                          JJ3691  0740 0910

The flights to get from Iguassu to Sanata Cruz turn out to be more difficult but doable:

IGR (Argentinian airport) AEP(Buenos Aires Newberry) AR2743  0935 1125, followed by a transfer to the international airport EZE
EZE VVI AR5624 1600 1745

Nevermind!! False alarm!!! What I think the blogger did was watch TARA1 (teams had to climb the steepest slope in Ski Dubai while ) on Star World

Is this real? Theres some pictures as well but who knows of what for sure? Dubai is what caught my attention seeing as we have the report of them at Dubai airport May 7th or 8th? soooooooooooo

Hello readers! I caught Amazing Race yesterday on Star World and there are remainings of 4 team. Enjoyed watching the show and I feel like joining it when i'm legal to join. Even though it may be tiring touring all over the country or that specific country, you'd still have the opportunity to see the country. Sooo yesterday, the contestants were touring at Dubai, masyaallah, really a GREAT place that I wanna go and why not, honeymoon? Hahaha, just kidding. If I were to have the opportunity, I'd want to migrate there. Beautiful place.

...and there are remainings of 4 team.

If this is true then one more team may have been eliminated at the end of that leg (yesterday).

That would mean they will do some kind of quick stop in Europe and bounce on to the finish line as early as tomorrow  :ascared

Is this record time or what?  I would bet the count is off and the tourist missed some team.  I hope they have a real leg somewhere in Europe.   :knuckles:

Okay, I did not catch the "Star World" bit.  Didn't know what it meant.  Ignored it.  That's what led to this misconception.

Sorry!

If on the 10th teams were down to just 4 teams (and let us assume that it was the first leg with just four teams), and we are on day what ? (19).  Then what are we typically left with leg wise and day wise.

Legs after teams are first down to 4 teams.
1.  3 additional legs (Leg 10 first down to 4).
2.  3 additional legs (same)
3.  2 legs (leg 11 first down to 4)
4.  3 legs (leg 10 first down to 4)
5.  2 legs (leg 11 first down to 4)
6.  2 legs (episode 11 first down to 4)
7.  3 legs (episode 10 first down to 4)
9.  3 legs (episode 10 first down to 4)
10.  2 legs (episode 11 first down to 4)
11.  3 legs (leg 11 first down to 4)
12.  2 legs (leg 9 first down to 4)

So we can assume a minimum of 2 additional legs to a maximum of 3 legs, based on previous seasons.

So unless we get some serious flights and flight delays, or some extended 24 hour or 36 hour pit Stops.

Typically each leg (with Pit Stop and travel time averages to 2 days).  So we can assume under fairly normal situations that teams should be back in the US finished on or around the 14th-17th (giving an extra day for one extended Pit Stop or a longer flight schedule.

Putting the time teams were racing between 23-27 days.

Any ideas on the time teams usually take on the typical 13 episode season?  I know All Stars was 27 days, while season 10 was 28 days.

Recent history excluding AR12, which was an anomaly, is about 27 days according to my memory.

There is a report in the actual spoiler thread about a sighting of a U-turn sign.  I would guess that the Yield, like the Intersection is history.

here ya go ...

Updates on our life in Bolivia (La Paz )

ok, fun tidbits now! The day we took possession of our apartment we were crossing the park in front of our building and noticed a lot of people and some really weird all wood bicycles. I noticed a lot of the people around them looked like the rich gortex-wearing tourist we see and/or the Discovery Channel crew that worked with us last year. Then I noticed it: a yellow signed that said "U-Turn" with a yellow and red flag on it... It was The Amazing Race!!!!! (It's a fun reality show, google it if you don't know what it is) I was sooooooo excited! I was torn between staying there until contestants showed up or going into our apartment. Given Wes' lack of enthusiasm I decided to go back home. But hey, next Amazing Race they will be showing our building and our park!

I'm not putting this in spoilers, cos I have been able to find NO collaborating info apart from a  similar post with nothing to back it up at jokersupdates. Do others also believe it's just idle speculation, or is there a very remote possibility that there could be something to it?

Detour:  By Land or By Water

In "By Land" teams must deliver handmade baskets used for transporting pigs.

In "By Water" teams must choose a boat and navigate through the local Floating Village on Tonle Sap Lake in order to locate items from a list of ingredients.

It looks to me like nobody has selected the "By Water" option of this Detour.

This may just be a local race - but maybe Vegas?

http://alisoninaz.blogspot.com/2008/05/t-rex-does-vegas.html

While I was wandering aimlessly, a whole crew of contestants for the Amazing Race passed me by! They had on matching denim shirts and yellow arm bands and looked pretty lost themselves. I don’t watch the show much anymore, but I might tune in just to see how Vegas treats ‘em.
