Thanks Musicman :-*  You guys are all just so nice.  I still am upset about that bean.  I just could not find it :groan:

I love the music they do for TAR especially the Led Zepplin one they seem to use every season.  Sorry Bill(husband is huge LZ fan) I can't remember the name of the song.

Hi back at ya Ken :jam:

Hey Tammy!

I'm watching Amazing Race 8 right now on GSN! (I taped it)

You guys did great! I mean, having only one other person who could really navigate in the backseat must be challenging but also having to take care of Billy and Carissa while getting them involved too must have been tough! But you guys did it!

But yeah, your elimination was the heartbreak of Race 8!  :'(

Hey Tammy, I had a question I've always wanted to know.

What was up with the Weavers? I mean, almost everyone hated them but I never saw them do anything mean or anything like that! Was there anything behind the scenes that we didn't get shown or something?

and I read your guys' interview in My Ox is Broken! Man I love that book!

And the introductions by Billy and Carissa were cute! How old are they now?

I think another family edition is a good idea. I enjoyed the first season of it, but was a little dissapointed with the lacking of the tasks. I think the cast definetely carried that season, and it'll be interesting to see teams of 2 which are family related. We might even get some new ones including maybe an aunt and uncle and more siblings which we haven't seen in a while. Maybe they'll be some cameos from the Family Edition 1, that would be pretty cool to see.  :jumpy:

Billy is 14 and at least 6 inches taller than me(he grew over a foot these past 2 years) and is sporting facial hair.   Carissa looks the same.  There are some pictures of them over at tarflies from May.

My husband just reminded me from Singapore it was two years ago today that we were eliminated  :'(

My sister in Devonport NZ tells me that local television there shows the Amazing Race many months behind the United States, about 5 months by what that interview indicates. When I was in Australia in April I thought I would be seeing Episodes 10 and 11. What I got instead was episodes 2 and 3, which places Australia about 2 months behind the U.S.

All Stars only started screening here last week (I think). I originally thought that maybe the interview had been filmed recently.

I s this good news --bad news?

I'm all in favor of losing the non-elims, but would rather have heard lose the Intersections.

And two less episodes regardless of the reason is never a good thing.  That is two less places to visit!

And it might mean a (2 weeks) later start if they want the show to finish during May sweeps.
And I don't know about that "tough...younger" talk; sounds like mactor stuff  :( (but I hope I'm wrong).

REPOST:

No media thread, so I'll throw this in here: a Littman interview from a CBS preview party (courtesy of the Orlando Sentinel)
Quote
"The Amazing Race": The Emmy-winning reality show is not on the fall schedule and will return later. "The countries are very exotic," Littman says. "We're going to a couple of places that I don't even know where they are on the map. I've had to go look them up."

As for the teams? Lively.

"This is a tough group," Littman says. "They'll be younger. We still have a good balance."

The show will will do two fewer episdoes and drop the noneliminations to create more excitement.

Hi Slowhatch! :waves:

Nice find!

Maybe the younger thing fits in with the rumours of families again--do you think they might lower the age limit some? Teenagers?

I.m still hoping for a late fall start myself--but you know me--I never give up!

Wonder if this really reflects a tighten up on the purse strings rather than a streamline the show?

sorry--just move them all!

And yes--I do believe they are out there and have been racing for perhaps as much as two weeks. No evidence mind you, just gut feeling.

At least this time with families, they're not racing all in the US which is good news. Nothing bad about visiting places in the US, but it just lacks excitement when teams have to go to the biggest chair in the world verses a famous palace in a country.

I'll take 2 fewer legs as long as they give us better locations, better tasks , you know spend more money to make it up. I'll take my TAR anyway I can get it as long as it doesn't go away!

I'll take 2 fewer legs with no non-elims. Since there were 4 non-elims and no TBCs in AR11, that could mean there will be 2 TBCs in AR12 if there are 11 teams and 11 episodes.

If there were no non-elims and no TBCs, the only way to maintain the same 13 legs would be to add 4 teams or with 2 TBCs to add 2 teams.

If they're already racing but no one's been able to figure out when and where the teams left the US, is it possible the race may have started in another country? If they flew the teams from their individual home cities to a different country, it would be a lot easier to avoid detection.
