TAR Canada / Re: TARCAN 11 Speculation and Discussion of the LIVE Spoilers

Do we know if the race is over? I'm just assuming they did 10 legs like last year.

A lot of the racers are back online.

They were in Sri Lanka for the past couple of days.

The first Scramble, in Germany, was just perfect in almost every way. Yet for some reason, since then, the producers can't seem to grasp the idea that a Scramble only works if all the tasks are roughly equidistant from the starting point. If you don't put the Scramble-Start clue in the middle, then all the teams are just going to go for the nearest-to-farthest route. I don't get why that's so difficult to understand...

Agree 100% with this. As never as in the other times this twist was used, this felt like an old school finale.

Huge thank you to Rachel for doing these updates every week! :cheer: (even though I'm a day late, I always read through them)
Thanks Pi! Now I'm wondering what the whole leg would have looked like had they arrived hours later. I was told that the day after they filmed was supposedly a scattered thunderstorm. Scramble might have been shelved as lightning and open water-based tasks don't mix.

They posted on the race Instagram channel a behind the scenes story of that initial day with Phil riding a boat with some of the guys of the camera crew and production in the middle of the storm.

Yeah, Blue Mountain/Collingwood/Wasaga Beach is a popular vacation spot for Southern Ontario in the same way that the Muskoka finale was.  I'm surprised we haven't seen Barrie show up yet either (and Wasaga if they don't include it).  Then again, it's not the best time of year for Wasaga.

CBS, can you give me the job of proofreading TAR episodes before they air, pretty please? I won't give out any spoilers, I promise. (I happened to catch the map animation showing teams going to Miami, "Flordia"- funny, though not as bad as the one time they marked Paris as being in Spain).

Did all teams get upgraded to business or was it just Carson & Jack?

I liked seeing a multi-part cryptic clue to spice up the finale leg. Little Havana is a good enclave to visit especially since we're unlikely to ever see TARUS visit Cuba.

Minor complaint: I like sports as much as the next guy, but it feels like we're seeing professional sports venues on the final leg too frequently- in fact, there's been one visited on 6 of the last 9 finales. It fits seamlessly when it's a more iconic venue such as the Rose Bowl or Wrigley Field, but less so when it's a park belonging to a team in the bottom two of both attendance and spending in the MLB. That said, I understand the desire to have an indoor venue for a Finish Line when there's afternoon rain in the forecast.

Congrats to Carson & Jack, they showed a lot of strength and resiliency during the race.

I believe ppl here have already known, but the finish line was initially held at Kampong Botanical Garden, but the storm and flood forced the crews to move to the stadium at the last minute. I assume it's easier to get the permit to film the finish line there in that time constraint.

I actually thought of you because I know there's also a Blue Mountains in Australia  :funny:

There's also a Collingwood in Australia as well!  :funny:
