And we are ON!

Previously on TAR, 6 teams began racing on the island of Corsica! At the Detour, Kim & Penn set the pace while Ryan & Dusty faced unfamiliar territory. Akbar struggled at the obstacle course setting the stage for Ryan's comeback. Kim & Penn paddled their way to victory while Akbar & Sheri came up short. 5 teams remain, who'll be eliminated next?

We return to a beautiful vantage panorama of Corsica. Kim & Penn and Raquel & Cayla depart in the first group. ROUTE INFO: They must drive to Tour de Fautua where they will be treated with casu martzu!

Penn noticed there was a brick wall feeling racing against Ryan & Dusty.

Teams are getting in convertibles.

Raquel & Cayla believe they only have to win first once to win the million dollars. They both had to move back into their parents' homes following the covid shutdown and discuss their financial uncertainties. Both teams enjoying the racecar road trip.

We return to Group 2 of Arun & Natalia, Lulu & Lala, and Ryan & Dusty leaving to the tower. Ryan & Dusty talk about their stressors after leaving in the second group and have a plan for the second Corsican leg. Arun & Natalia feel momentum after placing higher than usual on the last leg. "No room for error."

Lulu & Lala are awestruck with their convertible. They discuss needing to haul a** at the cheese task.

Kim & Penn drive past the parking lot while Raquel & Cayla find the turn and get to the tower first! "The girls are already here." -Penn

Kim wants to make it to final three with the flight attendants because they are stiff competition.

Raquel eats first and beasts through it. "Don't breathe it in." - Raquel. Kim & Penn arrive right behind while Cayla says this is the worst cheese ever. Kim & Penn go the wrong way and nitpick at it.

DETOUR: Row Row Row Your Boat or Gently Down the Stream.
In Row, teams must choose a fish and kayak around buoys to match 10 matches and bring them back to the beach to receive their next clue. In Stream, teams must ride an Aquivision boat and find 10 metal fish and sort through a ribbon with an assortment of fish to find the matches to receive their next clue.

Raquel & Cayla go for the rowing.

Kim & Penn start the cheese task. Penn is horrified while Kim is interested in the making of it. :funny:

They choose the Aquivision Detour.

Group 2 is in a mad dash to the tower. Arun & Natalia can't unlock their car and sprint in last place. "Are you kidding me?"- Arun :funny:

Ryan & Dusty arrive 3rd at the cheese. Ryan says it wasn't worse than anything in prison.

Lulu & Lala are shocked as Dusty makes them aware it has bugs.

Raquel & Cayla get to the stream first followed by Kim & Penn.

Lulu doesn't like cheese and is easily grossed out. Arun & Natalia follow get to the tower, but can't see the cheese station.

As someone who doesn't eat dairy, I can't imagine how tough this is for the twins- pungent cheese PLUS maggots  :barf

It seemed like the quantities varied between teams, or is that just me? Maybe Dusty just unhinged his jaw like a snake, but it seemed like it took them fewer bites, whereas it seemed like Raquel and Cayla had a lot of bread.

We come back to the twins finishing the cheese in 4th, they go to the Aquivision task, while Arun & Natalia are last to finish the cheese. They also choose the Aquivision.

Group 1 starts to see the fish and come up with rhymes and associative words to memorize these fish together.... ummm...

Ryan & Dusty are right in front of Lulu & Lala while Arun & Natalia catch up to the twins. Unfortunately, they split in directions.

Kim & Penn and Raquel & Cayla start recalling what they saw and go to the dive shack for the ribbon/booklet. They start scouring.

Twins arrive at the Aquivision while the best friends get to the boats. They criticize the other task as Kim & Penn get their clue in 1st.

ROUTE INFO: Drive to Port of Plaisance in Bonifacio.

Raquel & Cayla follow just behind in 2nd.

Arun & Natalia and Lulu & Lala start shouting at fish descriptions with much chaos. Ryan & Dusty start splashing in water into their transparent boat as they collect their 7th fish.

Kim & Penn and Raquel & Cayla are still en route to Bonifacio. "We are killin' it today." - Raquel.

Arun & Natalia and Lulu & Lala finish the fish watching trip and it's in fate's hands now. Ryan & Dusty are malfunctioning and are capsized. :funny:

Kim & Penn see the parking first and get to the harbor. Raquel & Cayla get to the clue first though. They follow next.

Arun & Nat and Lulu & Lala finish the fishwatching and making up time while Ryan & Dusty get their 10th fish.

The group 2 duos get to the fish booklets and are flustered. Meanwhile, Ryan & Dusty get their clue in 3rd and leave the other behind in the sand dust.

Arun & Natalia and Lulu & Lala's teamwork failed and they select the wrong fish together. They decide to redo the task again as a super-team. Sigh.

At the Roadblock, Penn and Cayla continue their stitchwork and grasping at strings.

The Aquivision is back and Arun & Natalia and Lulu & Lala re-strategize their memorization technique by divide and conquering.

Cayla reveals her mom is an expert knitter and says she might be disappointed in her. Penn finds it easier to spread the net out with his feet as an anchor at one end.

Arun & Natalia and Lulu & Lala represent their findings and are correct. They leave the Detour in 4th and last respectively.

Ryan chooses the Roadblock and studies the demonstrator. He finds this is a different language. Penn gets a check and succeeds! He gets his clue and does a running in place celebration. "I forgot I had these glasses."

Kim asks for directions at a restaurant while Cayla asks a blonde scuba trainer. It's a jog up the hill where the Napeoleons guide the racers up the hill to an undisclosed portion of the hill. It's a heart-pounding foot race!

And... KIM & PENN arrive at the mat 1ST! They get a wonderful Italian imbibement and win a trip for two to Turkey by Travelocity.

Lulu & Lala are certain they are lost while Arun & Natalia right behind keep going forward. Ryan gets a check and he is not approved.

Arun & Natalia get to the harbor nets Roadblock in 4th while Natalia does the task. She is immediately taken aback by the complexities of the matrix.

Returning to the show, it's a neck-and-neck sew-off between Natalia and Lala. Lala wants to make her father proud for fixing a net while Natalia is shaking.

Ryan & Dusty are TEAM NUMBER 3!

We quickly transition to Lulu & Lala getting their clue in 4th after passing Natalia. Arun & Natalia get the clue in last and are on their way to the mat as well!

Lulu & Lala are officially TEAM NUMBER 4 and Arun & Natalia are LAST. Unfortunately... they will have to keep on racing because this is a non-elimination Leg! They will try harder than ever now to avoid the danger zone. Phil says he thinks nobody in Race history has been given so many chances and conveniently forgets Kaylynn & Haley from last season.

Technically, Kaylynn & Hayley only arrived at a Pit Stop last twice and got saved, due to the Mega Leg. They also didn't come back after elimination.

Arun & Natalia definitely benefited from the abnormal structure of the season (fewer teams, more NELs), but I can't complain about it happening to some superfans.

The part everyone was talking about this week happened in the first 10 minutes, then the rest of the leg was pretty "meh". I know the first one doesn't count proper, but Arun & Natalia getting another chance 3 times in 4 legs feels a little stale.

Wasn't following this live with this thread last night. Had to cheat and get a copy of the episode from the Canadian stream early, cause the US showing was clashing with a Olympic event I wanted to watch live.

A lot less drama than I expected from the eating ARI. Too much promo drama, over something that didn't cause that much actual drama. Was initially surprised we'd be getting a eating challenge, considering COVID. But this was very isolated, with only racers being served. Wonder if COVID protocols would allow those old needle in the haystack type of eating challenges.

Really enjoyed when the Detours are placed close enough that teams can kind of spot each other. Do appreciate that the additional notes stated that if teams got the wrong card in the memory challenge, they had to redo 15-minute boat trip, before they could try again. However, kinda hoped teams weren't bunched together, so we had unofficial intersection between teams working together to complete that memory challenge. And the bunching together was mostly caused by the grouped departures. This kind of incentivizes the top group to try to work together to maintain that spot, which was Cayla and Raquel strategy by switching detour choices, by having the safety of another team around them.

I know that location wise wouldn't have worked, but I wish they had made the fish memory challenge as the RB, while net fixing thing could've been reworked as the other side of the detour.

Loved that they had to travel by foot to the pit stop location, at least there was not info about departures this time around from Phil, spoiling if this would be a NEL or not, Though mathematically this was very likely a NEL.

While Row, Row, Row Your Boat seemed like the more attractive Detour option when they were first announced, I may have reconsidered upon arriving at the port and seeing the choppy water. This felt like a Leg 1/2 detour in a tropical locale, so it was a bit less dynamic with just 5 teams and imperfect weather. Still, it was good to see the drama with the kayak flipping over, making us wonder whether Ryan/Dusty would fall behind due to Detour troubles for a second consecutive leg.

Twice in three legs we've seen teams huff and puff while ascending a huge staircase. I bet these racers have great calves now...
