Previously on TAR, seven teams flew from Berlin, Germany to Almaty, Kazakhstan! At the DT, Gary & DeAngelo battled while Leo & Alana were ground. The Yield was finally used to get rivals back. Hung & Chee had struggled to break bad habits. In the end, Will & James won the leg and got some big news (MEGA LEG) while Leo & Alana couldn't overcome the Yield. 6 teams remain, who'll be eliminated next?
Will & James are first to depart at 10:15 PM. Fly to Hyderabad, India!

Phil describes Hyderabad as a cyber-city. Will & James are anxious for the mega-leg. They mention they have a Yield in their back pocket while convincing Kaylynn & Haley to use theirs. Riley & Madisson leave 2nd in 10:28pm and ask "what is a cyber-city?". They mention their volleyball profession. Hung & Chee depart in 3rd at 10:50 PM, discussing they won't tell anything to DeAngelo & Gary after what happened last leg. Kaylynn & Haley depart 5th with Eswar & Aparna leaving in 6th. They discuss spending their time in India and are stoked for the leg.
Teams arrive and are in a mad dash!

We come back to Eswar & Aparna first to arrive. Smog test 3 rickshaws by flagging them down to check-up at mobile pollution vans to receive their next clue. DeAngelo & Gary and Will & James follow them to the clue box. "What's a rickshaw?" / "Are you a rickshaw?"

Kaylynn & Haley are the 4th to arrive while Will yells at James to get out of the street. :funny: Struggling all around.
Hung & Chee are last to arrive and quickly start the task.
Kaylynn & Haley lose a rickshaw while Will & James, Eswar & Aparna, and De & Gary get their first one. They enter in details and pipe the exhaust system to receive a certificate of inspection.

Hung & Chee get their first rickshaw while volleyballers are struggling. "How do we get them to come?"
Eswar & Aparna and Will & James go get another car. DeAngelo & Gary continue to have minor communication riffs. Kaylynn & Haley get their first rickshaw as well as the volleyballers.
Hung & Chee, Riley & Madisson, and Kay & Hay move on to the second round.

Eswar & Aparna reveal they had an advantage of calling rickshaws "autos" instead of "taxis" or "tuk tuks" to better alert drivers. Chaos all around of people jumping into autos and riding them to the mobile testing van. Kaylynn & Haley are struggling to gain attention. Boyfriends, siblings, Panthers, volleyballers, and Hung & Chee get their 2nd autos checked.

Kaylynn & Haley get their 2nd one done while the others are on their final autos.
DETOUR: Food App or Number Trap. In Food App, teams have to use Swiggy food delivery to transport food to a specific address to receive their next clue. In Number Trap, teams must grab a series of binary numbers to unscramble their next clue.
Eswar & Aparna, De & Gary, Hung & Chee, and Will & James move on to the Detour. Riley & Madisson and Kaylynn & Haley are behind.
Hung & Chee are stuck in traffic.

The binary code option is at T Hub. Teams begin to arrive. Catch all the highlighted 0 and 1 and decode the code. Eswar & Aparna believe this task was meant for them. Game begins for these four teams.

Hung & Chee arrive at the binary code Detour while Riley & Madisson finish the autos. They choose Number Trap. Kaylynn & Haley are the only ones to choose the Swiggy Detour.
Volleyballers talk about the drama they encountered with DeAngelo & Gary. ??? I didn't see any of that.

DeAngelo & Gary are first to grab all their highlighted numbers and move on to the binary decoding. It's definitely super difficult. Aparna reveals even though she is a software engineer, she is not a gamer. Hung & Chee are struggling.
Meanwhile, Kaylynn & Haley are lost because their taxi driver is unresponsive. Their driver pulls over to ask for directions and they are desperate for a savior.

We return to another episode of Kaylynn & Haley's Taxi Driver Misfortunes. "Do you know how close we are or how far we are?" "...."
Meanwhile, Will & James get their binary code. Hung tries a sweeping motion to capture the highlights while Riley & Madisson start the binary Detour option. Boyfriends and De & Gary get part of their code. Riley & Madisson make a quick recovery and get their code. Eswar & Aparna move on too. Hung & Chee are getting tired.
"You can find the clue in the fourth floor bunker." Will & James try to find their clue.

We return to Hung & Chee ultimately deciding to go to the Swiggy food app Detour option. Eswar & Aparna and DeAngelo & Gary reach the RB. James finds a turban in the augmented reality app. He describes they must match who they found on the surface of a pillar to the exact column rock formation on the upper floor. Okay, now I understand.
Hung & Chee reach the Swiggy delivery stand and must pick up and deliver three food packages without the help of a GPS and only rely on customer service support.

Hung & Chee have a system down where they will recite nearby locations to the agent to confirm their route. Riley & Madi move on from the Detour while Kaylynn & Haley finally arrive at the Swiggy stand. They begin navigation.

Riley & Madi reach the RB in 4th. Teams inside the tomb making progress on the tablet augmented view. DeAngelo & Gary have the right turban, but wrong pillar placement. Will & James find a virtual turban, but get the wrong placement. Hung & Chee find their first delivery point. Meanwhile, Kaylynn & Haley are having a communication breakdown with their customer service support. :funny:

Gary finds his turban guy and is correct. He receives his first scroll. Meanwhile, Gary spies into Riley's tablet and sees another turbaned fellow. Riley receives his first scroll.

Hung & Chee get to their second delivery point. Meanwhile, the blondes are seeing lots of hostels, believe they are going the wrong way, and gives their agent a headache. :funny:
James finally figures out the details in the turban, but continue to be wrong on the pillar placement. Riley and Eswar compete for the same turbaned dude. Riley is wrong while Eswar is correct.

Hung & Chee are delivering their third Swiggy order and it is at an apartment gym. :funny: They get a signed voucher and must go back to the Swiggy stand. Kaylynn & Haley continue to have navigation struggles.
Gary gets his second scroll.

Riley gets his 2nd scroll. Meanwhile, Hung & Chee get their clue from the Detour. Kaylynn & Haley get to the gym dropoff point. "Enjoy your pasta!" :funny:
James is really frustrated and Will explains he gets frazzled. He is wrong again. "I had a huge lead and then I lost it."

Every task this leg combines multiple factors, principally technology and tradition- great tasks, honestly the best of the season!

We return to James asking Gary what he is doing wrong. Riley gets his third scroll and gets his clue. DeAngelo & Gary also finish.ROUTE INFO: Travel by auto rickshaw to Charminar and search for your next clue.

Hung & Chee finally arrive in 5th and start the RB. James is finally right on one match. He receives his first scroll. Chee gets an energy boost seeing Will & James still at the task, and receives his first scroll. Kaylynn & Haley reach the park delivery point and move on to the third point. Chee surpasses James at the RB with his second turban match.
Eswar gets his second match too.

James gets his third match and move on in 3rd to Charminar. Eswar & Aparna and Hung & Chee are left. Kaylynn & Haley finish the Swiggy Detour and move on to the Qtub Minar.
Hung & Chee pass Eswar & Aparna in 4th. Aparna is getting worried as Kaylynn & Haley see they got Yielded for 20 minutes.

I love this first part of the mega leg. Cyber city themed leg really works well, and all of the tasks are killing as heck too. Best episode so far :cheer:

All the tasks from the first half were pretty difficult, and the technological theme was well used.
The food app task brought back flashbacks to TARC's skipthdishes task, which had only aired a couple of months before this season filmed.
So, all-in-all I have to echo the sentiment that the first half was great.

The Beard brothers and CheeHu appear to have some hard feelings that the NFL team do not reciprocate the help that they have given to the NFL team. The NFL team missed the opportunity to help the Beard brothers at the decoding, the NFL team could have given the answer to the code to the Beard brothers prior to them leaving them behind.
The NFL team is willing to share information with the alliance when they are asked as when the boyfriend team asked DeAngelo for help on how to construct the instrument during the cello challenge, and again when the boyfriend team asked Gary for help during the turban Indian challenge and Gary provided the tip on looking at the building landmark to determine where the turbaned man should be placed. The Beard brothers are not happy that the NFL team is unaware that they should unilaterally volunteer information to the alliance.
With regards to Hung, DeAngelo did provide help to her during the rappel challenge by letting her know that she needed to look out for alphabets as she was rappelling since there were alphabets that needed to be unscrambled to get the next clue to move on. If DeAngelo had not helped Hung, she would not have known to look out for the alphabets since she was too busy freaking out the entire time she was rappelling down the building. She is lucky that DeAngelo told her to look out for the letters since it saved her from having to freak out if she had to rappel a second time.
ADDENDUM: Just to clarify, I am for team NFL. However, team NFL do not appear to be able to make it to the Finals...after they are gone, I hope team CheeHu win the Race.

I loved the first part of the mega leg! Cyber cities don't typically interest me too much, but I agree that all the tasks on this leg were traditional and something new to see! I really enjoyed watching this first part of the leg and the Mine Five alliance wasn't too shown too much this time and that's fantastic news!

I loved how the first half of this leg focused on India's technology.
The first task with the rickshaw was a simple task that gave teams some trouble.
The food delivery Detour was great, and I loved how teams had to communicate with a local to figure out where to go next.
The binary code Detour looked fun to do, having to play a game to pick up 1's and 0's to make a code to crack.
The Roadblock was okay, it really served a challenge to a couple of teams and I liked how they incorporated tablets into the Race for certain tasks (they must have gotten that from HaMerotz)

Same with the end of the episode... I have lots of doubt that Eswar and Arpana where still at the temple while the girls were waiting for the first yield

The timestamp for Kaylynn/Haley looks a bit early; maybe all the meals were prepared first thing in the morning before the racers were expected (some palak paneer sounds good right about now--better than turkey :-[)

I was expecting it wasn't going to be a real time order but rather a "staged" one.
Love Indian food, I just had Beef Curry earlier. I'll save my review later. I still need to watch EP.9

I really dislike it when a team sabotage another team and say "no hard feeling". It's like punching someone and say "we're cool, right?". "No hard feeling" is meant to forgive others, not covering up your own butts.
It takes zero willpower to say "no hard feeling" when you put someone's faces on the Yield/U-turn board. It takes kindness and courage to say that to the ones who have done that to you, like Colin & Christie.
