Phil, in flashback: The following episode of the Race was filmed just before New Orleans was ravaged by Hurricane Katrina. We look forward to when New Orleans once again takes its place among the world's great cities.

Phil: Seven teams left Huntsville, Alabama, headed to Talladega Motor Speedway where they pedaled around the track. The Weavers didn't want to go, but mother's leadership helped them finish. Stassi and Dad argued over directions, and Stassi broke down. Then they got lost right outside their hometown of New Orleans. The Linz family got an eyeful (moon) from the Bransens. At the Detour, the Gaghans were down on their luck (cards) while the Paolos teamwork paid off. Bransens were first, and Schroeders poor navigation cost them the race.

Six families remain. Who will be eliminated next?

 Phil: This is the Big Easy, famous for jazz, food and Mardi Gras. The French Quarter was the 4th pitstop in the Amazing Race.

Will the Gaghans overcome a near loss to pull out of last?
Will the Weavers continue to find strength as a family?

Bransen, 12:40 am, CLUE: Fly to Panama City, Panama.
Phil: When they land, make their way 31 miles to the Smithsonian Institute, travel to this island, search for scientist Ricardo Diaz for the next clue.

Paolos depart, 12:41 am.
Mom conf: My ideal situation at the end of this race? DJ puts his arms around me and says 'I love you, Ma!'

Linz, 12:49 am.
Dude thinks they're going to Panama City FLORIDA.

Bransen leaves next, checking flights by cell phone.

Mom Paolo barks instructions.
Son: Please be quiet now, please!?

At the airport, Linz arrive first.
Bransen next.
Paolos arrive next.
They share ticket info.

Godlewskis leave next.
Christine: I may be bossy, but my ideas are the best!
Weavers depart, 1:52.
Daughter, conf: Alliances are stooopid!

Gaghans, 1:54.

Godlewski, Weaver, then Gaghan families arrive at Louis Armstrong Airport.
All teams check times, flights.

Linz step up to the plate for Flight #1.
The line forms to the rear, Mom Paolo ... lol
Bransen, Flight #1.
Paolos argue.
Paolos, Flight #1.

Godlewski, Flight #2.
Gaghan, Flight #2.
Weaver, Flight #2.

puddin:
Panama.

Flight #1, arrives 6:40 pm.
Linz shows the cabbie his CLUE.
Bransen, Paolos get cabs.
Linz, currently in 1st.
Cab driver speaks Spanish.
Daughter: I love the fact that you speak Spanish! Now what was he saying!?

Paolos move into 1st in the cab ride, arrive at the Smithsonian.
They look for the marked boat.
FIRST DEPARTURE, 7 am.

puddin:

They're sleeping overnight.
Linz, 2nd to the boat.
Bransen, 3rd.

9:40, 2nd flight lands.
Teams race out of the airport to the Institute.

I won't even bother to say how stupid that exchange was between the Weavers and their cabbie. "Burrito" indeed.

The final 3 teams find out they're caught up again.

MORNING.
All 6 teams line up ...
Paolos leave 1st.
Linz leave 2nd.
Bransens leave 3rd.
Each team gets its own boat.
Godlewski, 4th.
Gaghan, 5th.
Weaver, 6th.
All six teams are in boats, headed for the island.
