^/^ no thats not Char .. maybe the on-air promos will give us clearer shots .
on to the guide rails !!

banzai:
come to think of it,  *(^ they look like the Schroeders. One of them look old. So has to be the Schroeders.  :nods:

supsandalee:
Chateau, each side of the causeway was built years apart and do not look the same. The southbound bridge is older and has that pole rail running across the top and the northbound bridge is solid. I was looking at the Godlewski pictures all wrong and thought all the background bridge were one and not a separate northbound lane. Makes more sense to me now. Below is a pic of the causeway looking northbound.

Just want to clear up our time line:

Afternoon of July 12 (between 2:00 and 4:30PM) teams leave Huntsville; proceed to Anniston (84 miles); proceed to Talladega (20 miles);Talladega Speedway gig - watch out for the Big Brown Truck!);  camp out or stay in trailors for the night. Weather is cloudy and/or raining most of the time. Shadows on Talledega Speedway (when the sun is out) are quite long and suggest late afternoon.

Morning of July 13 teams leave Talladegda Campout and proceed to Madisonville, LA (365 miles); Detour task in Fairview Riverside State Park: Lumberjack or Blackjack; proceed to New Orleans across Lake Pontchartrain on the Causeway (which is betwen Madisonville and Mandeville); Roadblock task in New Orleans (Preservation Hall Jazz or Bourbon Street) proceed to RiverBoat Nanchez for Pit Stop.

Early Morning of July 14 proceed to New Orleans Airport and catch flight to Belize (first flights leave at 5:59AM -American flight arrives at 11:14AM; and at 6:00AM - Continental flight arrives 10:54AM))

Chateau d If:
Wow, great shot Supsandalee!

I just reviewed the preview from Tuesday night and at the very very end they show the sobbing Godlewski at an angle that points out her window.

This is what we see:  1) The rail.  2) The bridge that goes in  the other direction having no rail.  And it is constructed with triple 55" pilings exactly as shown in your photo.  See that the south bound direction is constructed with only double 55" pilings.

So they are definitely on the south bound Causeway over Lake Pontchartrain.

Going to New Orleans.   |#'
