Reality for Canadians
silvercrank:
Canadians might be able to apply for US shows such as Survivor.U.S. networks have restricted their reality shows to U.S. citizens. Burnett says some of it is because of legalities Canadians might not be bound to the same contractual restrictions but really its all about ratings. The presumption was nobody in Texas or Florida or California wants to cheer for a final four tribal member from, say, Brampton, Ont.
Swanee:
I think they would cheer for a Canadian, especially those who live in the upper half of the US :t-up:
puddin:
I heard that TAR is open for Canadians !! :]
Trevor:
I think opening it up to Canadians is a great idea. Expands the audience. Plus everybody likes the funny way Canadians say words like "about" and "against".
BRL:
I think as a Canadian myself theres a miscommunication as
to the way we speak |( at least in the area I'm from.
No one I know says 'aboot' like in the comedy shows
about Canadains. But then again Canadains see Americans
from another angle too.
As for Canadians getting to be on
reality television, I'd be the first one to out wit or win a
race around the world.
