They blame the cabbie , Gretchen & Meredith beat them by 10  or 15 minutes ,the race brought them closer , they had the best time ..
Rob & Amber ..Julie " you have to admit they make great tv " The boys : Evil comes across well on television , they did not mingle at the pitstops were shut off and cold , the boys were close to the other teams Romber never opened up to them , They actually  liked Rob and thought who is that another gay guy ? hes got a really nice butt , Rob is totally cute but they didn't know who they were untill they started the race .
Julie who do you think is more deceitfull Rob or Amber , as far as racing ?
The boys  , Amber was to busy concentrating on losing weight < Amberexia >  ..it was definitly Rob .

Yep, it's still about about Romber for them, months later. They resent Rob because he's on the 'other team' lol and the comments about Amber are disgusting and infantile. They stupidly don't know they explained Amber's attitude with their  comments. They admit she didn't open up, well why in the hell would she while they are eyeing her man's butt and putting her down for not eating. Who would open up? but they explain it away as her having no personality, HOW would they even know LOL
Anorexia is nothing to joke about, and it looks like Lynn should shed a few pounds. His face is huge. Push the Plate away, Lynn LOL

I just watched and it was Julie Chen who made them talk about Rob and Amber.  I suppose we'll never know the whole truth, but from what we've heard from other teams, Rob and Amber were the ones to keep a distance (Brian and Greg said the same thing).

And no, anorexia is not a joking matter, but Amber needing to lose weight?  That's worth ridiculing.

why riducule anyone? and who is Lynn to get an opinion? he needs to lose weight in his FACE LOL
Nobody else has made mention of Amber's eating..That was Lynn's overbearing assessment. If you've ever traveled to a foreign country, the food isn't always what we are used to, you either can't handle it? because it's so different or you gain weight  lol
on a race such as that, and needing to keep moving, I'd be careful too about what I ate.
I think Lynn is obsessed with Rob and is jealous of Amber LOL Why else would he give a damn what Amber ate or go on national tv and not be able to quit talking about it..he is an ass

Sorry, but part of the reason I watch reality tv is to ridicule those people.  Maybe it makes me feel better about myself, I don't know.  Yes, it would be a lovely world if people were nice all the time, and didn't say mean things, and were gracious.  I've love to live in that world, and most of the time, I try to make the world around me a nicer place.  But I'm not nice all the time, I can be mean and petty with the best of them, so maybe that's why Lynn's comments didn't bother me that much.

Amazing Race Gay Guys Sound Off!
by Ethan Alter

Talk about defying expectations. After spending much of this super-sized leg of The Amazing Race (Tuesdays, 9pm/ET) in the back of the pack, Energizer bunnies Meredith and Gretchen beat boyfriends Lynn and Alex to the finish mat in Jodhpur, India. While the gregarious gay couple is disappointed with their fifth-place finish, they're not letting it get them down. If anything, they're even funnier in person than they were on the race. Here, they tell TVGuide.com how they met, their future television ambitions and the celeb they'd most like to meet (the answer may surprise you...).

TVGuide.com: I think everyone was surprised to see Gretchen and Meredith finish ahead of you. How far behind were you?
Lynn Warren: We were surprised! We thought for sure that we'd make the final four. It was just bad luck. The cab driver didn't know where he was going. Coming to the finish mat, we were probably five to eight minutes behind them. By the time we were on our way to the correct place, we knew we were out. We were already chain-smoking the whole way there.

TVG: You both are smokers? Wow, that never got caught on camera.
Lynn: Seriously, by the end of the race, we were smoking all the time. We were just really good about hiding it. I have all these little young fans! [Laughs]

TVG: In hindsight, do you regret not going for the Fast Forward?
Lynn: Yes! Watching the episode, we thought, "Oh, my god, we could totally have gone for it!" We left the clock tower not even a minute after Joyce and Uchenna. They actually took our cab. We thought about going for it, but they had that two- or three-minute lead, so it was too high a risk.
Alex Ali: If we had thought about it, we would have realized that they got lost a lot. So we should have gone for it, but in the moment, it's hard to think that thoroughly.

TVG: Would you have shaved your heads?
Lynn: I would have done it in a second, considering how hot I was during the entire race. I thought Joyce looked beautiful [with her head shaved], though.
Alex: Joyce and Uchenna were great on the race. They were just as much as our friends as Gretchen and Meredith.
Lynn: You do become so close to people. It doesn't come across on screen how close you get to the other teams.

TVG: Does that include Rob and Amber?
Lynn: No, I still don't like Rob and "Amberexia" — that's my nickname for her. You know, we were all playing a game and they were playing it differently than we did, and we didn't like the way they played it. It's not like we singled them out to not be nice to them. We didn't even know who they were until a few days into the race, and then we didn't have any disdain for them until we saw how they were playing. We didn't even think about the option of telling people not to give out any more information or paying them off. Although, it's actually a good idea, and we started doing it after we found out they were doing it.
Alex: I actually feel really bad for any Amazing Racers after this season, because they have tainted the game so much. The next people will be pushing each other down stairs! And the other thing about Rob and Amber is that the [nastiness] went both ways, and we didn't know that until we watched the show. They said nasty things about us and we did it to them. But my favorite Rob quote is when he said that we were his biggest competition.
Lynn: I'm sure his favorite quote is when we said that he has a really nice ass. He does! At first we thought he was the other gay guy on the show.
Alex: The first time we saw him he was wearing white pants. And it just went from there.
Lynn: It's so frustrating that he's good looking. You wish he were ugly.
Alex: But his personality is ugly.
Lynn: There it is! He's ugly inside. [Laughs]

TVG: How much did it suck not to win a prize when you came in first on the third leg?
Lynn: Well, tell America that if they feel bad for us, feel free to send us something. [Laughs] I'm not going to lie — we were a little upset. The whole race is a prize, of course, but we would have liked to have won something. But it gave us the confidence of knowing we could finish first.

TVG: Way back in the beginning, you said you wanted to go on the race to prove something as a gay couple. Were you aware that TAR has a long history of strong gay teams?
Alex: Yes, I was aware of that. But when I said that, it was the second leg and we didn't want to be the next team off. We wanted to keep it going. And I feel like we fought for that position.
Lynn: We wanted to go on the show and represent a strong couple and that being gay is a part of us, but there's so much more to us, too. We came across as really gay, I know. We were surprised at how gay we are! And the thing is, we were just being ourselves. During the race, Meredith said something to the effect that he had never been around gay men and had a misconception of them. And since meeting us, he had changed his whole perception. It was very, very sweet.

TVG: How about that comment you made in Africa about Uchenna and Joyce being "born" to do the balancing task?
Lynn: It didn't seem that bad at the time. Because they're from Africa! And they really love Africa! I got so much flak for that. [There was] also that Tupac comment I made in that seedy neighborhood in South Africa. The reason I was scared is because it was a dangerous area.
Alex: At that detour, we also said, "Let's go milk goats with the white people." The minute we got to the pit stop, we sat down with Uchenna and Joyce and said, "Oh, my god, we said the funniest thing," and they laughed. We were good friends with them.
Lynn: We never had to call any teams to apologize. The only person who had to call was Ray. Ray called everybody!

TVG: So how did you two meet?
Alex: Oh, it's so bad.
Lynn: It's terrible. We met at a gay bar.
Alex: Lynn tried to hunt me down.
Lynn: That's not true! You couldn't get in the bar. You weren't old enough.
Alex: I had a fake ID, and I met Lynn at a bar.
Lynn: That sounds so trashy. We might as well say that we met at a strip joint.
Alex: But we've been together almost five years now.
Lynn: Which is like 30 in gay years.
Alex: It's a long time. Especially when you're 23! You've taken the best years of my life.
Lynn: Oh, he loves that line.
Alex: The best thing is that I have a really big family and he has a big family, too, and they send us cards saying that they watch the show and support us.
Lynn: And you can see how normal our relationship is. It's just a regular relationship, we just happen to be two men.
Alex: Yeah, like how I'm the man...
Lynn: That is so not true!

TVG: What's next for you both?
Lynn: I want to go on another reality show — anything but The Surreal Life, because I think Rob and Amber are doing that next. But I would do like Big Brother or Survivor. I can help decorate the tribe's campsite.
Alex: I work in TV development, so I want to develop a show. My dad's from a different culture, so the gay thing was a huge thing between my father and me. It still continues to be, and we're working through it. But I thought it was really interesting to see how the gay life was completely different in every country we traveled to. So we wanted to pitch a documentary show to the gay networks about gay life in other cultures. It would be an exposé like Outing India or Outing Africa.
Lynn: Starring us! And we also want to do correspondent work; we want to do the red carpet. We want to do anything that has to do with TV, because we loved it. We had such a great experience.

TVG: In other words, you want to go to the next level.
Lynn: I want to take it to the next level. I want to hang out with Paris Hilton!
Alex: I love you, Paris!
Lynn: You're hot!

An interview with Lynn and Alex of "The Amazing Race"
« Reply #10 on: April 26, 2005, 07:25:43 PM »
An interview with Lynn and Alex of "The Amazing Race"
Shana Naomi Krochmal
Lynn Warren, 30, and Alex Ali, 22, may have come in fifth place on this season of CBS's around-the-world adventure reality show "The Amazing Race," but the couple will definitely go down in the show's hall of fame for quick wit and bad car luck. Just after their last episode aired, the West Hollywood-based pair phoned in an interview with PlanetOut.
I hope you haven't been feeling too much like the token gay guys, because this is totally going to be the token gay interview.

Alex: We love our token gay things.

Excellent. So how was it being the token gay guys?

Lynn: There was also Patrick, so we weren't the only gay guys, but we were the token gay couple. And we loved it. We knew that they hadn't had a gay couple in two seasons, and we were excited to be a different version.

Alex: Absolutely. We're proud of our relationship, and we were proud to show it to America.

CBS has had a pretty diverse group of gay people from one show to another. What was different about you?

Lynn: We're a little kooky. We're a little crazier than ["Amazing Race 5" winners] Chip and Reichen. We knew we weren't breaking the gay stereotype. But we knew that we would stand out as a team.
Alex: I think we kept the race light and were good competitors at the same time. We brought an element of humor to the race that I think a lot of the gay teams don't.

Lynn: A lot of the teams in general don't.

Alex: They're just so focused on the money. Lynn and I knew only one team was going to be millionaires. So why not have fun while we did it?

Was anyone you know who saw the show surprised you were gay?

Lynn: No person in the world would be surprised that we're gay.

Alex: My dad didn't know I was gay before we did the race. Lynn and I have been in a relationship for four years. We share the same house. He would come over and visit us, and there would be one bed. All the rest of my family knew, we just didn't tell my dad. He's Egyptian, from a different culture. I knew by going on the race I would have to tell him.

Lynn: I think his father knew before Alex told him.

So how'd it go?

Alex: It's a little rocky, but we'll work through it.

Lynn: Every day it gets better.

You guys met at a bar. That's like winning the gay lottery.

Lynn: It really is one in a million. It was so funny that it worked out so well. I mean, I knew as soon as I met Alex that we were going to be together. Unfortunately, he didn't know it at that point.

Alex: And I was like: Wow, this guy's real clingy.

Lynn: I just knew. And here we are four years later, happily married and having a great life.

There wasn't a lot of PDA shown on camera. Were you kissing and it got cut out?

Lynn: No, CBS was very good at editing it so it was reflective of how we are in life. We're not big on PDA -- not because I'm ashamed or because I'm embarrassed, but that's just not who we are really.

Alex: Lynn and I hug and we hold each other when we're walking. But when you're racing, "Am I kissing you enough on camera?" is the last thing on your mind.

Was there any culture shock in other countries about your sexuality?

Alex: In South Africa, gays can get married. In Australia, they're trying to create a gay nation. In India, men can be very affectionate toward each other and it's OK, because there's a fine line, almost a blurred line, between "Are they gay?" and "Are they just best friends?"
Lynn and I thought that was really interesting -- so interesting that we thought we would pitch a documentary about gay life in other cultures. While America's so preoccupied with labels, these countries aren't, and yet it still exists on a different level.

Lynn: But during the race we didn't feel uncomfortable.

Alex: Yeah, in India I could kiss Lynn and it would be OK.

If you'd had to do the race with someone else, who would you each have picked?

Lynn: My friend Stacy. We've traveled in the past to Thailand and to Europe. I don't know if we would have done any better than Alex and I did. I think the dynamic would have been different, absolutely.

Alex: I would have chosen my other boyfriend.

Lynn: [Laughs.]

They should make a threesome team!

Alex: A threesome team! I'm going through the list of everyone now. After running the race, I realize that I would have only done that race with Lynn.

Lynn: That's such a better answer than mine!

Alex: That is a better answer. Because Lynn kept the race light, and when I imagine doing it with anybody else, I can see them just focusing on the negative, then me focusing on the negative, then us being the first off.

Lynn: Alex is just a bit of a negative Nancy. Just a bit.

Alex: So Lynn's my cheerleader. He wears the little outfit and everything.

My favorite of all the funny lines you guys had was the one about how much you missed your Kiehl's. Have they called and offered to send you supplies?

Lynn: I actually worked as a producer on a show for Style Network called "Modern Girl's Guide to Life," and the Kiehl's PR person let me go to the store and pick out one of everything. I would love to do that again. It was like a religious experience for me, it was so beautiful.

Alex: Lynn was dying.

Lynn: They haven't called me yet, but I would love to work with them again in that capacity.

Alex: The funny thing is that on the race, you can't be anybody but yourself. People thought that we had thought of all these one-liners, wrote them down and said them during the race randomly. But that's just Lynn and me. That's just us in a situation trying to make the best of it.

Lynn: We're just clever, witty gay guys. I mean, "Amberexia"? That just came out of my mouth, no forethought whatever.

It will be one of the great lasting gifts to "The Amazing Race." Imagine that in your post-race celebrity you are faced with several endorsement dilemmas: Which would you choose, Absolut or Kiehl's?
Alex: I would go for Kiehl's. We're not big drinkers.

Lynn: Plus, Kiehl's makes you look younger and Absolut makes you look older.

Good point. Gatorade or Hummer?

Alex: Hummer!

Lynn: Hummer! I love Hummers. In every sense of the word.

Alex: I would say a Land Rover -- I think a really funny commercial would be us in a Land Rover, and it's always breaking down. And then us magically fixing it. We went through three of them!

If a friend was going to do some adventure traveling, what advice would you give them?

Lynn: Number one is, focus on the positive -- it's harder to see than the negative things in life.

Alex: And I would say number two is learn just little words of the language. I mean, Lynn butchered Spanish, but we did learn how to say "hurry" in Hindi. Every time we would go to a new country, we would try to ask them to give us a few key words.

Lynn: And another tip is to learn the currency exchange. I think these cab drivers make half their income on people overpaying.

You're very good at speaking for each other. What don't you agree on?

Alex: We don't agree on how to raise our kids.
Lynn: We're planning to adopt.

Alex: Lynn wants to send her to boarding school!

Lynn: Not for her whole education. I just think it's a good opportunity -- but we're not going to get into that whole thing. But yes, we sometimes disagree on raising children. We have slightly different political views. We don't have big points we disagree on.

Alex: All the things we disagree on are so trivial.

Lynn: Raising a kid is not trivial!

Alex: But you could work through that. By the time we get a little girl, she'll raise herself, it will be so different.

Lynn: We need Rosie O'Donnell to help us raise a child.

Alex: Yeah, she writes about us on her blog. I want to write back and say: "Help me get a child!"

Lynn: We would love to have Rosie help us out. You should put that in there.

Don't you have an agent who can do that for you now?

Alex: Yeah, we should talk to our publicist!

Lynn: We would love to do something like that. We would love to be advocates for adoption.

Alex: We also disagree about what to wear in the morning. We'll both get dressed separately and then we'll look at each other and we'll be twinsy fags.

Lynn: There is nothing worse than a twinsy fag couple.

Alex: And we'll be all, "You change!"

Lynn: We literally had this argument this morning.

So who won?

Alex: I made Lynn change, but I had to find his outfit for him.

Lynn: And I must say, it's great-looking.

You seem well-poised to be funny TV personalities of one type or another. Who's your favorite TV personality?

Lynn: Paris Hilton.

She doesn't count as a TV personality!

Lynn: She's a personality!

But she doesn't talk. I mean a comic, or a host or someone who does a red carpet thing.

Lynn: This is so ridiculous I'm almost embarrassed to say, but I love Joan Rivers.

Alex: I love Joan Rivers, because she says exactly what's on her mind. If she likes it, she likes it. If she doesn't, she doesn't. The only thing I wish she was more of is starstruck.

Lynn: That's what the red carpet lacks. A couple on there, a gay couple named Lynn and Alex, who are starstruck by those celebrities.

Alex: If the people watching at home were meeting those stars, they would ask them different questions, give them different reactions, and I think it needs to go in that direction. With all this reality TV going on, you need reality meeting these stars on the red carpet.

Lynn: Oh, that was good, Alex.

How will you know when you've become a celebrity and you're not normal anymore?

Lynn: When I build a Neverland.

Alex: I would say when I don't want to go outside because I don't want to get noticed. Now it's fun, but it must be really difficult for huge, real stars, and I can understand why now. I sort of get it.

Lynn: We went to the Ivy and the waitress was so excited to meet us. When you're getting noticed at the Ivy, you feel like a big celebrity, because they see real stars there.

Okay get over yourself...why do they have to find a way to say this in EVERY single interview.  Are they in love with Rob and mad Amber has him?  Are they trying to hold on to the spot light be association?  I am tired of hearing it.

Ousted pair eye own series

By TARA MERRIN

THEY MAY not have crossed the finish line first on The Amazing Race, but gay couple Alex Ali and Lynn Warren could potentially be this season's big winners. The boys from Hollywood, eliminated on last week's episode, quickly became fan favourites (therefore hot-properties for TV executives) on Race 7.

They are flamboyant, hilarious, compassionate and all-around good TV -- all traits that will likely lead to their own show or, at the very least, a turn on an all-star version of the world-wide race.

"There are whispers and chats about an all-star race for the 10th season. We would love to be a part of something like that," says Lynn.

OWNED BY CBS

Lynn and Alex, who are both TV producers, have pitched a show about gay couples living in different cultures to several networks including MTV's new gay network Logo.

"People from the TV industry have also approached us about other projects -- we would love to have our own talk show or reality show," says Alex, adding don't expect to see them soon because "CBS owns us for a year."

Fans can tune in to see the duo on the May 10 finale.

Although they now know how it ends, Lynn and Alex say after leaving the show they had only one wish -- please don't let Boston Rob and "Amberexia" win.

"They were literally hand-held to the mat the entire time," said Alex, adding he and Lynn were not invited to Rob and Amber's April 16 wedding which will air May 24 on CBS. "Rob is very manipulative -- he manipulated Amber into giving him half her $1 million. Can you say prenupt, prenupt, prenupt?"

ADOPTION

So who do they want to see cross the finish line first? Meredith and Gretchen or Uchenna and Joyce, they say.

"We wanted them to win so they could have a child. That is something we bonded with them over --we both went on the race so we could win enough money to adopt a baby," said Lynn, who with Alex were eliminated after a cabbie drove them to the wrong Indian temple.

But, with the bad comes the good and the future is certainly looking good -- aside from their almost certain future in TV, the couple is looking at adopting and maybe taking a trip north.

"We want to come to Canada," says Lynn. "We are considering coming there to get married."

Now that's a wedding that should be on TV.
