210: Jeep
211: Lynn
212-214: Joyce, there's a guy behind her that is holding the meat. The guy then throws the meat (feeding the lions?)

Nice find with the Lion Park, puddin. I'm just hoping that they are hiding Merideth and Gretchen to make us think that they do not recover from Gretchen's injury and is eliminated in leg 5.

In my perfect world, leg 5 would be the non-elimination (with the new twist).

Ray & Deana / Fast Forward .Ray Blue shirt Deana black shirt white shorts
Ray with a black shirt ? Deana next to Ray blue shirt ? or is it Kelly ? Is this a minor task or detour ? Why is he at the detour if him and Deana got the Fast Forward?

Joyce in Red feeding the lions
Ucheena has a red jacket / Joyce is wearing it above?

Joyce in yellow/ yellow bandana Ucheena in yellow

Ucheena in a brighter yellow/orange

is this Kelly ? Who else has a blue long sleeve shirt ?

What the Bro's are wearing /

Whats up with the Clothes? Wheres the bandana? Who is this ? Does the camara man reach over and grab the steering wheel?
Do the Bro's even have a white T-shirt?

I do  believe that that is Brian driving. In the earlier shot (although it has been edited in the preview to look like one continuous sequence) he is wearing a dark blue shirt with sleves coming to his mid-arm. He is wearing a bead bracelet around the left wrist. In the actual crash scene he is wearing a white sleveless shirt but he still has the bead bracelet around his left wrist. It looks like they spend at least two days on safari in Botswana and drive their Land Rovers from place to place. They could spend the night at a safari camp as they have done before without it being a pit stop.

The biplane sequence at the beginning of the sequence which ends with the plane flying over two teams running in the road is seen flying over a large stone Aardvark statue which has been identified as being in Gweta, Botswana. This town is the gateway to several nature preserves including Maksadikgadi Pans Nature Park, and Central Kalahari Game Reserve. Both places have ostrichs on the loose.

Question: Does the yellow biplane have any signifance? Is it part of some task? Or is it just recreating one of Alfred Hitchcoks most famous scenes? It sure looks like it is coming in low over the teams on purpose.

Another thing that has not been commented on. In one scene Brian is shown throwing a spear and he is wearing the same shirt as seen in the first Land Rover driving squence. So this looks like the first day in Botswana and probably is a Roadblock or Detour task using native weapons such as the spear in which he has to hit the moving sandbag. Similar to the event in Norway using Viking weapons.

My first thought was that the bi-plane was being used by a film crew to get some overhead shots, and some good animal shots.

There are holes in those sleeves. Merideth and Gretchen I know are supposed to wear as much clothes that are colored powder blue so that the Camera men can spot them easily but Ron and Kelly also have similar long sleeved shirts that matches this color more than Gretchen's and Merideth's.

Is it me or is someone else crawling there with her (assuming its Gretchen). I always thought it was the Roadblock in South Africa but it can also be the Detour..

Call me crazy but I see three people and a dead ostrich  {l{  Maybe its because I'm really tired and sleepy

How exactly do they get in the cave? Lowered by ropes or through that entrance (?) ? Excuse me if I don't make any sense.

And by the way, the Aardvark is in Gweta (we all know that) and Gweta is the main stop for tourists before they head into MAKGADIKGADI PANS NAT PARK filled with all kinds of animals that attracts the lions to it. I've read somewhere that some tourists are allowed to feed lions there but I'm not sure if this is the park/game reserve the Race visits.

http://www.wildlifeafrica.co.za/ttmakgadikgadi.html   <---- not that helpful but MAKGADIKGADI PANS NAT PARK is explained briefly in the middle of the whole thing.

I Dunno Goody  }1{ maybe the teams have to charter a bi-plane in Johannesburg to Botswana , maybe they were just dropped off and the Aardvark holds the next clue ? I was just showing that these Bi-planes are common in around South Africa .

I noticed the holes in those blue sleeves too Goody, also maybe a half a zipper on the  collar  , its hard to say if those are female breasts or a males  ]][ . I have a pull over like this..its actually velcro , no buttons or zippers.

It's Kelly or Ron , I think he has a matching pullover ?

{l{ That person doesn't really have a feminine body (or maybe its just baggy). Its either Kelly/Gretchen or Merideth with his sagging.... self? Don't really know, just my opinion..

Q: What was the longest race?

A: Race 5 — almost 75,000 miles. That is the equivalent of going around the equator three times. As for Race 7 (currently airing on CBS on Tuesday nights), I can't say. There are some surprises ahead.

Can it be a possible clue on how the race is going to go? It shines some light to England and Turkey being visited after the Oriental Country. I also heard that the Producers are sick of using Hawaii as the entry point to the USA.

Don't mind me...  B:)

If Gweta, Botswana is nine hours by car from Johannesburg, that is a long way to have inexperienced people drive. Could it be that they fly? Gweta does have an airport. Would be a wonderful flight by biplane if they can fly that far.

If this is the Lion Park near JBurg, each Land Rover has three rows of seats with metal handrails inbetween. We have two Land Rovers headed down the dirt road. In one we have Ron (and Kelly beside him off camera) Greg (with Brian off Camera) and I think it looks more like Joyce with Uchenna beside her. If as we suspect that Ray and Kelly complete the Fast Forward, I do not believe they would be in the Land Rovers going on to the Lion Park where we will have either a Detour or Roadblock task. When we have shot of Uchenna feeding the animals, I think that is Ron behind him and not Rob.

This really seems to get harder and harder each ep and especially with two eps running back to back it is hard to distinguish what happens in South Africa and what happens in Botswana.

But lets start with a real, way out, off the chart speculation since absolutely nothing in the previews or promos indicate that this could or would happen. But we still have those scenes of London in the opening and scenes in the openings have been pretty good indicators of where the teams are headed. And we have had a lot of speculation of when they might go to London - after India which seems to be next?  The teams will be leaving the pit stop at the Polo Club La Martina in Buenos Aires starting around or a little after midnight (Rob and Amber) and the last team will be leaving around 9:00AM (Meredith and Gretchen arrived way after sunset at 8:30PM) Perhaps they have to go find some landmark in BA which probably doesn't open until 8 or 9 so we have a good chance for the first bunchup here. At this landmark they are told to go to EZE (Buenos Aires International airport) and get on a plane to London (LHR). Lufthansa has a flight leaving at 11:30AM arriving in London the next morning at 8:10AM; and British Air has a flight leaving at 1:25PM which arrives in London the next morning at 7:00AM. Again a typical last arriving first event which the producers love. The teams then have almost all day to race around London doing events which we have no idea what may entail but they could be Roadblock tasks or Detour tasks or both. At the end of the day we have direct flights from London to Johannesburg: British Air leaving at 5:50PM and arriving the next morning at 6:45AM or South African Airlines leaving at 6:00PM and arriving at 7:05AM They then start their tasks in Johannesburg.

As I said there has been not one clue put out that this might happen, but it could. It gives the teams a day in London and have them arrive only a day later in Johannesburg. Something else which might fit this scenario is that Phil appeared on Live with Regis and Kelly to promote his new book while TAR7 was off running in the field. I can't find the exact date he appeared but I think it was either at the end of November or the first week in December. Since there is no pitstop in London he would not be needed and could have come to New York from BA on the way to JBurg. Just a wild, wild idea.

So back to perhaps more of a reality.  The teams leave the Polo Club between Midnight and 9 or 10AM. They could go directly to the International Airport and arrange flights to JBurg. We have a flight leaving on Airleanes Argentinas at 10:50AM which connects through Sao Paulo, Brazil and arrives in JBurg the next morning on SA Flight 206 at 6:55AM and another flight on Varig via Sao Paulo leaving at 2:45PM but also connects with SA206 arriving also at 6:55AM.

Let's speculate that the first day in South Africa includes the Fast Forward which is the walk over the top of the inert cooling towers in Soweto. Ray and Deana are shown doing it. A second team, perhaps Ray and Kelly, also race for it but are beaten out so have to retreat and do the Roadblock which is the cave crawl. We have seen Uchenna and Kelly and  Gretchen who is injured here and Meredith who was waiting on the outside is allowed to enter to help her. There are caves in Gold Reef near JBurg and the Strekfontein Caves which are reknown for the fossils and ancient finds (some 13 million or so years old). The Teams are then spotted, at least six of them are, in two enclosed Land Rovers headed for Lion Park. Each LR seats six persons (three teams) The one vehicle we see into has from front to back Ron (and Kelly off camera); Greg (and Brian) and Uchenna and Joyce.  If Ray and Deana did the FF, then the other vehicle holds; Meredith and Gretchen; Rob and Amber; Alex and Lynn (now that would be a happy group!!)

When we reach the Lion Park the Detour is either Hunt or Feed. In Hunt the teams must throw spears and hit a moving target. Each team member has to hit it so many times or move on to another event in order. In feed the teams must find enough meat to satisfy the hungar of x number of lions. Both tasks have their pros and cons (oh, heck you know the routine). From there they are off for the pit stop most likely back somewhere in the safety of JBurg for the night. And this is the first of three pre-arranged Non Elimination Legs. We expect that Ray and Deana are first having completed the FF. Who is last?  Could be Meredith and Gretchen who have been running late of late.

After the completion of the first leg, in the second hour we start off with Leg 6. And as is usual we have a massive bunchup at the airport for a flight to Gaborone or Gweta (where we spotted the large, stone Aardvark.)This is where Ray's remark of making a big mistake when he finds out he has gained nothing since EP5 was a NEL and they are all bunched up at the airport the next morning.  Gweta is about nine hours drive from JBurg and I doubt that they would drive, but they may drive and do a task or two and then stop for an overnight in some Safari camp (not a pit stop)  One task may be finding stuff to take to some orphanage. Another task may involve a bi-plane ride (Roadblock) or something connected with the planes. The Land Rovers seem to be off and running across the plains of the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park or the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, both of which are nearby. This part is not too clear but we do see both Uchenna and Joyce in different shirts; and Brian is now wearing a white sleveless shirt instead of the dark blue one he had on earlier. And most of the footage shown from Botswana deals with the brothers Brian and Greg and the Ostrich! The editors have taken various scenes of Brian driving but in some he is wearing a blue short sleeved shirt and in the other (actual crash scene) he is wearing a white sleeveless shirt. But in both cases you can determine that he has the same bead bracelet around his left wrist. After the crash it is not clear whether a fourth person is lying on the ground who is wearing a dark shirt and short white shorts or is it just possibly the Ostrich which has been hit and lies dying on the ground?  If this is the case I wonder what kind of deep dodo the producers or Brian are in since I expect there are all kinds of regulations dealing with the killing of protected wild animals in a game reserve.

But we have nothing more to go on to determine what is the eventual outcome of all of this.  Perhaps since the brothers have crashed, they must wait for a replacement vehicle and this puts them way, way behind just as Bola was. But he was saved by the "to be continued" but in this case I think that the pit stop is the final blow and the Brothers may just have been eliminated.

One strange note: throughout the previews and promos there is not one single frame of our beloved engaged couple. Playing it low key or are they once again so far ahead that the producers are keeping it in the dark to keep up the suspense. We will know tomorrow.

So that, fellow spoilers, is that. Not much to go on, but in rereading this, I really like my idea of jumping to South Africa via London!

Nice possibilities Gingerman but as much as I force myself to think that there is a chance that the Teams will stop by at London before heading to South Africa, its just not happening for me because thats a lot of traveling for one leg. I see them visiting London later on.

Phil has been dropping a lot of hints in his interview regarding this race. He said that the teams hated the new NEL twist they had for them and that there will be suprises with the mileage of this season's race. So now I'm thinking more of, Starting Line-> South America-> South Africa/Botswana-> India-> Oriental Country-> Turkey-> London-> Jamaica-> Puerto Rico to Finish Line.

Anyways, about tomorrow's two hour episode. This is what I think will happen... (pure speculation)

-Rob and Amber depart from the Polo Club in First place (around midnight)
-Clue tells them to go to a Landmark/Famous Area in Tigre or nearby place
-Place is close until the departure time of the last team
-Last team departs (Merideth and Gretchen, around 9-10 am), Landmark/Famous Area opens for the waiting teams there
-Clue tells them to travel by train to Buenos Aires and book flights to Johannesburg, South Africa in Ezeiza International Airport. Once there, travel to Gold Reef city
-The teams head to Buenos Aires all in the same train
-Merideth and Gretchen reaches the Landmark/Famous Area in last place and jumps in a train to Buenos Aires
-The teams book tickets in the fastest flight to Jo'burg, everyone gets on the same flight and wonders if Merideth and Gretchen could make it
-Merideth adn Gretchen misses the flight by minutes and gets a later flight that is behind but not more than thirty minutes
-Teams arrive in Jo-Burg, gets their clue somewhere and, go figure, here is the first Fast Forward of the race
-First team (Ray and Deana) to reach the cluebox chooses to attempt the Fast Forward
Another team that arrives at the cluebox later doesn't know that someone else decided to go for it
-The two teams going for the Fast Forward heads to the Cooling Tower in Soweto while the other teams head for Gold Reef City for the Roadblock
-Merideth and Gretchen arrives and heads to the Roadblock
-Ray and Deana arrives at the Cooling Tower first and starts the Fast Forward, second team arrives at the Cooling Tower (probably Ron and Kelly)
-Other teams reach Gold Reef city and starts on the Cave/Mine Roadblock
-Teams finish the Roadblock and heads to another place for the detour
-Ron and Kelly are forced to return to the Roadblock area because Ray and Deana got the Fast Forward before them
-Ray and Deana heads to the Pit Stop and "clocks in"
-Merideth and Gretchen arrives at the Roadblock area, Gretchen decides to do the Roadblock
-Ron and Kelly arrives at the Roadblock area, Kelly chooses to do it
-Gretchen finishes the Roadblock and is returning
-Gretchen: Merideth!
-Merideth: Come this way!
-Gretchen falls down and injures herself while returning, Kelly hears this and reacts
-Merideth who is waiting somewhere in the safer part of the cave/mine heads in and sees Gretchen crawling out of hole (freaky)
-Gretchen is rescued, everything is fine but she needs to get a facelift first, oh I mean, her wound needs to get cleaned and covered up
-Kelly finishes the Roadblock and leaves for the Detour
-Other teams start finishing the Detour and starts heading to the Pit Stop to "clock in"
-Merideth and Gretchen lost time but starts to make their way to the Detour
-Ron and Kelly arrive at the Detour Area
-Merideth and Gretchen arrives at the Detour Area
-Ron and Kelly finishes and clocks in
-Merideth and Gretchen finishes and is greeted by another weird local
-There are saved by a non-elimination, Gretchen pulls out that loud moan: Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh!, that I have fallen in love with
-Phil introduces the new twist

the end of leg 5...

B:) Blah blah blah.. sorry about my pointless post. What probably adds to the reason why they compiled both legs into one episode is because of that new twist. To properly introduce it to the viewers. Well whatever, I'm done talking.
