Dom Di Tommasso & Marx Marsters

Mates

A Red Bull pro and part of the elite free-running group Team Farang, Dom Di Tommaso (known as Dom Tomato) is one of the most popular parkour athletes in the world. His career sees him jumping, rolling, diving and scaling iconic sites across the globe and he will be using his unique skillset, alongside best friend Marx, on the Race.

Growing up in Canterbury, in Sydney’s south-west, Dom trained in ballet and competitive figure skating, winning the Australian senior national title in 2011 and in 2007, he discovered free running.

In 2016, Dom joined Team Farang and, when Red Bull came on board as a sponsor, he made Hollywood-quality clips, free running through scenic parts of Cairo, Bruges and the Swiss Alps.

In 2021, Dom expanded his growing profile and featured as the Dominator in Seven’s Ultimate Tag where he showcased his extraordinary agility and speed. He also starred in Twist, a modern adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic novel, featuring Michael Caine and Lena Headey.

To fund his early parkour days, Dom worked full-time as a garbage man in Sydney. Up at 4:30am each day, he loaded up to 1,000 bins into the truck and ran close to 20km daily. The job gave him structure and a super high level of fitness, and it also introduced him to his best mate, Marx.

By day, Marx is still a full-time garbo in North Sydney. By night, he is a passionate turntablist under his stage name, Masta Marx. He has recorded three hip-hop albums, been featured on Triple J Unearthed, and plays regular gigs.

When Dom first started free running, Marx was by his side. The two travelled the world together, competing in amateur parkour competitions and pushing each other to new limits.

What appeals Dom about the Race is the idea of adventure and exploring other cultures, seeing the unseen and being put in the deep end with situations and challenges.

And there is no one else he’d rather tackle the Race with other than Marx, an athletic weapon who is clever and looks at the world in an interesting way. He is looking forward to the new landscapes they can potentially do jumps on.
