Brendan & Leni FevolaFather & DaughterOne of the most recognisable figures in Australian sport and media, popular former AFL larrikin and showman, Brendan Fevola is teaming up with his daughter Leni on the Race. A dominant force on the field, Brendan played 204 AFL games for Carlton and the Brisbane Lions between 1999 and 2010, amassing an incredible 623 goals.
Renowned for his elite marking ability and precision in front of goal, Brendan was twice awarded the prestigious Coleman Medal (2006, 2009), selected in three All-Australian teams, and was Carlton’s leading goal kicker for seven consecutive seasons.
Following his playing career, Fevola seamlessly transitioned into the media spotlight, becoming a much-loved radio host on Melbourne’s 101.9 The Fox breakfast show. His sharp wit, honesty, relatability and cheeky commentary have earned him a loyal following, extending his influence well beyond the football field.
In 2016, he won I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, where his generosity shone through as he donated his prize money to charity and shared it with the runner-up’s cause. Brendan’s journey has also been one of personal growth and resilience. A powerful voice for mental health awareness, personal reinvention, and positive change, Brendan has been open about his battles with mental health, using his platform to advocate for men’s mental wellbeing and speak candidly about the challenges he faced during and after his AFL career.
While the father-daughter team have not prepared for the Race, Brendan is looking forward to the unknown challenges and thinks the other teams should expect a lot of fun from the duo. Leni is most excited about going somewhere she never would travel otherwise and is looking forward to the cool things they are going to get to go, but she isn’t looking forward to eating anything ‘gross’.
Leni thinks her dad will make a good teammate for the Race as he is very competitive and driven, but at the same time very fun and makes the most out of everything. The two are quite good at challenges, and let their competitive nature drive them, but this will be teamed with their combined stubbornness and regular banter.
