TAR 38 Speculation & Discussion of the LIVE Spoilers
« on: March 09, 2025, 12:55:58 PM »
This thread is the WORKZONE of our spoilers.

This is where ALL the spoiler discussion of the TAR 38 race goes, NOT in the LIVE thread. It is where we try to thrash out what the LIVE sightings mean.

As always, per RFF's practices, we do not a future location until it is believed that the teams are safely underway. We would never want to put a team in jeopardy or cause them distress or interfere with the actual running of the race. Info on future legs may occasionally be protected for those reasons. But if you have info to share beforehand, we would love to know, so please PM or email RealityFreakWill, Leafsfan, Xoruz, or a detective. Spoilers are treasured!

This was posted to the TAR reddit on March 10. Considering they are flying Delta, it is likely though not confirmed yet that they are going to the birthplace of Big Brother: The Netherlands.

Looks like they are indeed going to the Netherlands, specifically Hoorn.

Fitting to start the race where Big Brother was born.

According to that article that Xoruz posted in the Live Sightings thread, it reads to me like that the Starting Line is going to be in the city center of Hoorn? ???

Anything is possible, but don't think the SL will be in Hoorn

Might just be a mistranslation from Google of "starting shot" instead of "starting shoot".

Since teams are via Degroot there is a Detroit flight that lands at Amsterdam at 5:46am Amsterdam time. So keep an eye open for sightings around then! So around 11pm Pacific time

I don't remember if we are allowed to speculate potential locations later in the season (in case it's a security issue). If we are allowed, I have a suspicion based off the first location (no actual evidence)

Are we sure that they weren't already there, since Phil was there?

Phil usually arrives ahead of the teams to do his standups. Not surprised if Phil arrived at 5:50am, and the teams arrived on either/both the 8:10am and 10:20am arrival flights.

Pure speculation can be posted. Evidence of a future leg has to wait. You’re good.

I mean, TAR U.S. had non-U.S. starting lines in TAR34 and TAR36.  It's not particularly uncommon for seasons filmed in the last 4 years.

I'd count 33 with that if we count the re-start. The one thing these seasons had in common though, is that they were all covid restriction seasons, which is why I'm confused about this season, but....yeah....surely there's a reason this time around but who the heck knows. Notably, 35 (filmed as 36) and 37 had US Starting lines, both seasons filmed after covid restrctions were lifted.

It could have something to do with the Netherlands being the birthplace of Big Brother, so it may have special significance

Makes sense. Kinda bummed that it takes away the first and second flight business but so goes life.

I also could picture TAR doing an homage to Big Brother at the start and filming the teams get "keys" (or tickets) to the race which would be why there's no starting line in the US

They “find” a clue in their home that tells them to go to the Netherlands.

Looks like teams are on the move;

If they're traveling internationally via train from Amsterdam, here are the routes:

One Redditor in that thread claims to have seen a "slender black woman with braids and a red bandana" and seems to think it was Chelsie, despite initially confusing her partner for a white/Latino man.

Not sure how trains in Europe work, but if they wanted to connect somewhere, would that be a possibility? Say if they wanted to go to Denmark or Luxembourg or something like that, they could connect somewhere else and then head to wherever?

Yes- like connecting via Hamburg in TAR19
