Quebec usually leads to fun legs considering it's one of the main places that can lead to culture shock inside Canada. This leg was enjoyable yet also weird for how short it was. The entire leg seemed to be set up from the beginning around the Roadblock. The G7 is a major event, so I can understand why they wanted to focus so much on it. It was a bit ironic that Dave told Irina that she's not a quitter after she finished the Roadblock even though she used the Express Pass because she didn't want to be cold and chose to quit two tasks later. Considering we didn't even see one Detour last week, the Blind Detour was a welcome return to force a spilt between tasks. Even if the leg was short, the location did also provide for other obstacles outside of the tasks like the fog and teams varying knowledge of French. Even with a map (Jet & Dave would be envious), teams seemed to struggle quite a bit with directions. Even without the knowledge of spoilers since next week got a lot of coverage, it did feel like it was time for another NEL/KOR. I do prefer that it was a KOR instead of a NEL since teams have taken several trains this leg alone and will have to take more to get back to Toronto. KORs work well when they are set during legs with a lot of transport before and after. Last year had the right idea with a KOR after a long flight but undercut it with the next leg in a city only a couple of hours away by car. I am curious next week how a certain task being bumped up a week will affect the leg.
Thinesh doubting Aarthy commitment to not bicker at the start of the leg.
Aarthy freaking out while Thinesh enjoys poutine.
Joanne's strategy of focusing on Dave's head.
Aarthy ending her contribution after 10 points.
Anthony & James trying to outrun sprinters after getting their clue.
Poutine: Not really much to say about this though it's a little crazy that it took seven seasons for poutine-related task.
G7: This task was the focal point of the leg and if that happens then the episode lives or dies on that task. Thankfully, this task was good. There were a lot of elements to this task that were great from memorizing several languages, identifying languages, and overcoming stage fright. Even though teams are used to the cameras, the addition of new people seemed to throw them off.
This: Time consuming in that teams had to put every detail onto the eggs even if the images didn't have to be perfect. The addition of delivering the eggs to the building felt like something they would normally do to direct teams to a Pit Stop.
That: The main challenge of that was getting into the rhythm of swinging the peg and then it was time consuming in obtaining 200 points.
