Nick & Vicki, Bopper & Mark.

They all checked into the Pit Stop. Phil has never told a team outside the Pit Stop that the leg was a NEL.

Personally,I think it is always best to not "ASS"ume anything without a sighting.

But oval is pretty sure about Manuas ...and that is good enough for me

I think that’s very safe to assume, despite us not having 100% confirmation. It couldn’t have been a second Trinidad and Tobago leg because I’m sure we would’ve got more sightings.

I'm amusing from the list of teams checked into the pit stop that the three previous teams eliminated were team 2, team 6 and team 10

Couldn’t team 8 (African-American girls in turquoise) have been eliminated prior since we only know that the Asian girls were present this leg?

Past experiences tell that there is no way 4 teams have been eliminated in week 1 ,either the 1st team is not the 1st team in most cases. But if Phil went off the mat, it means it will be an elimination for a team that were late. Look for the number 1 team please :welcome: :welcome: :welcome: :duno:

No NEL before F7 happened only twice in last 17 seasons - TAR21 & TAR29.

This was EL, we need to admit it. There was Yield so EL make sense.

Another thought... Are we 100% sure that this leg was raced by 8 teams and not 9? We are assuming it based on 8 stations at watermelons detour, right?

Looks like Mid-Race NEL's again. Like TAR 21 & TAR 29.

The task with the 8 stations set up was one half of a detour, and for those types of tasks, historically, the set up is in case all teams chose to do the same side of a detour. And with that leg being the fourth leg f the Race, it would fit that the three prior legs were elimination legs.
And as far as I can recall Phil has never gone out onto the Race course to the last team when all other teams has checked in, except for an elimination. Otherwise, Phil and production would just wait for that last team to check in. (That has happened a few times, but I would have to search out when.)

Well Phil was GONE and no further team was seen checking in. Unless they let them finish and it was HOURS later...but remember Phil has to get moving to the next location generally, so sometimes he cant wait around.

ALSO HUGE storm there RIGHT now...we may run into airport delays (unless this was planned as an extended stop anyway??)

I prefer teams going to South Africa, Botswana, or Namibia would be the choices since Zambia was visited since S27 and Zimbabwe twice on both S27 & S30. If teams should head to Europe, my guesses would be Germany,  Spain, or Portugal then.

Its just a guess. Sao Paulo is definitely a connecting point for a flights to Africa if teams should stay southward into eastbound. South African Airways has a direct flight from Sao Paulo to Johannesburg.

There’s also flights to Australia and New Zealand through Santiago and Buenos Aires- they could be going anywhere.

I’d keep an eye on those South American airports, though:

São Paulo
Buenos Aires
Santiago

They have to go through one of those to move on

extended pit-stop seems to be likely after finishing loads of SA legs, and waiting for long trans-continental flying

Asuncion airport has only one trans-continental flight, that is Madrid, Spain. If for connection, they may probably use Santiago or Buenos Aires as connection, and head off west to Australia
