And it’s Nicole and Vic’s home state too.   Vic is originally from Louisiana but he has been living in Michigan since November.

Also Nicole and Victor's. I'm in the area. I'm tempted to go downtown next week to see what's going on. It seems like they didn't get the permit for Belle Isle but are looking to shoot somewhere else in Detroit.

Depatures after 8:30pm for each airline mentioned by TARmap above (outside of Switzerland)
Lufthansa: Dresden, Hanover, Frankfurt, Munich, Cologne, Hamburg, Berlin, Nuremberg, Athens, Stuggart, Sao Paulo
Austrian Air: Vienna, Nuremberg
SWISS: London, Dresden, Hanover, Paris, London, Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin, Milan, Amsterdam, Athens, Vienna, Cairo, Tel Aviv, Stuggart, Johannesburg
Edelweiss Air: Split, Croatia; Olbia, Sardinia; Pula, Croatia

Croatia Airlines: Split, Zagreb (departing 8:05pm)

A few of those flights might overlap as some are codeshares.

Just my opinion, teams are probably changing planes, instead of flying directly from Zurich to their final destination

In recent seasons, if direct flights are involved for within Europe flying, most of the time they have teams release Early in the morning instead of late at night (TAR30 leg 2, TAR25 leg 3)

Furthermore, i don't see the production would let teams flying to nearby countries like Germany / Austria / France, when there frequent trainb service available, especially in the current days where TAR has a much tighter budget :duno:

Just my opinion though

That can certainly help narrow down possibilities as well.

And if that Detroit article is true, there's definitely plenty of time for four Legs (assuming we're currently on Leg 9) including a July 3 finale.

Prob not. They have been having extended pitstops all along. We'll have to see if they suddenly pick up the pace.

I'm a bit skeptical about the Detroit story. TAR has been doing this for 17 years now and I can't believe they would not have their permits done up and in order well in advance. Also, I'm mildly dubious about them having an open call for volunteers and still apparently accepting people even now. Still, it's worth keeping an eye out for other clues pointing to Detroit. I'm not sure they have ever held a final leg in Detroit, so that would be a point in it's favor.

The only thing that to me is probable is the July 3rd date (next Tuesday). That would be a 23 day race, entirely reasonable.

Wait, is Detroit a planned final destination city? It has been a decline of recession in the last 10 years. Many of American car businesses were shut down and houses became abandoned.

At least if producers don't choose Detroit that is a ghost town and maybe some American cities rather than Detroit that Miami or Atlanta would be an alternate choice as the final city.

According to the link above, Phil and the production crew would be there for props and shooting tasks on July 3rd.

All just my opinion

Possible?

Leg 9: June 28
Leg 10: June 29 or 30
Leg 11: July 1 or early July 2
Leg 12: July 3

We saw a team running in the Zurich airport at 7:15 PM on June 27. One of the team members was wearing an orange shirt but I couldn't make out any more.

I know teams can and have worn outfits that don't match their original color but I believe Becca is the only person spotted in an orange shirt so far!

Probably and hopefully Becca & Floyd. Team Fun also wore orange in Uganda posted by a fan.  :cheer: :cheer:

The final week will likely go to North Africa for Leg 9, Western Europe for Leg 10, and Central America for Leg 11 before heading to MI.

I do think the last few days of racing will likely to go to Eastern Europe (Leg 9) and South America (Leg 10-11) before heading to MI for the final leg.

All JMO.

5 Continents, 9 Countries would fit the whole season but unless they want each remaining legs as single then 10 Countries. I'd prefer have another leg in Europe then go to South America for a penultimate leg.

When I saw the teams in the airport, they both already had tickets. The check in counters are split up, so the only ones they had already passed were Swiss, EasyJet, and Vueling. Both teams were running despite already having tickets, so the flight may have been leaving shortly.

Is Michigan confirmed? or just spec?
Not confirmed but the Detroit Free Press article linked in the quoted post below is fueling the speculation:

Is Michigan confirmed? or just spec?
First post, hopefully this is in the right spot. I just happened to come across this article that indicates that it seems like 'Amazing Race' is planning a shoot in Detroit on Tuesday, July 3rd.

https://www.freep.com/story/entertainment/music/2018/06/27/seven-nation-army-amazing-race-detroit-belle-isle-denied-musicians-white-stripes/739645002/

And as to this:

All just my opinion

Please double check the facts. The City has been out of bankruptcy for several years, blighted or abandoned neighborhoods have been demolished and cleared, and much business activity and growth has returned to the city core. And Ford announced earlier this month it is renovating, repurposing and expanding its corporate headquarters campus to centrlize all of its employees in the local area. Doesn't sound like a ghost town to me, but a city in renaissance. It could well be a city that would make sense as the final city.
I'm not speculating whether the city is or isn't a final destination city, but 'I would point out it borders Windsor, Ontario, Canada, a country TAR hasn't visited in quite a while.
