Dan and Riya have been best friends for 15 years, ever since Dan offered to ride the ski-lift with new-girl Riya on a grade four class trip. Today, they run a successful YouTube channel together, “Dan and Riya,” where they produce and star in weekly short comedy videos about dating, pop culture, and the trials and tribulations of Millennial life. Their most popular video has over 14 million views and counting.

Both Dan and Riya are competitive, have big egos, and fight about who is funnier, smarter, and more attractive. Dan is more emotional, admitting that he’ll be the first to cry or lose his temper, whereas Riya is more controlled. Although they bicker and tease each other constantly, they also trust each other completely.

They have no intention of running THE AMAZING RACE CANADA as naïve “nice Canadians”; they are ruthless competitors who will work hard and have no qualms about lying and hustling their way to the finish line.
