Aksla Viewpoint



In Ålesund you can visit the Town Mountain and viewpoint Aksla. From this location there is a panoramic view of the archipelago, the beautiful town centre, and the amazing Sunnmøre Alps. Walk the 418 steps up from the Town Park, go by car or take the City Train up to Fjellstua.

Fjellstua, which is situated at the top, has got an outdoor restaurant, café, and a platform to enjoy the view. To go up to Aksla you can either take the 418 steps that go up from the Town Park or you can drive Borgundfjordveien/Fjelltunveien all the way up.

Although the sculpture is missing, I'm reasonably sure that Sunni1957 took a photo of this place.

Well it took a while but the racers are getting into their cars at Slinningsodden 48, an apartment (condo?) complex (viewpoint); haven't the foggiest what they're doing there.

It's kind of late now, but maybe the racers will be seen leaving Alesund.

In addition to the expected flights to Oslo and Amsterdam, there is also one flight a day to Gdansk, Poland and Vilnius, Lithuania.

From what I could see, I see Team 8 which is Tara & Joey and the Team 4 Female, London.

SPEC TRANSPORT:

Team had two choices to get to Zanzibar although I am sure they were directed to take one or the other.

There was one direct flight

But more likely they flew to Dar and then took one of many flights onto  Zanzibar, which would put them about 3 miles from town and their next sighting.

Aren't the teams really left Brazil on June 14th? Which I see one of M/F team holding a clue at Sao Paulo Pit Start (leg 3).

Do we have any idea whether the teams (might have) departed for the next leg today or will they depart tomorrow?

As for Vilnius, there are 2 flights from Oslo arriving tomorrow: one at 10:40 (Norvegian Air Shuttle) and the other one at 16:45 (Ryanair), with the times being local (GMT +3).
Connecting flights are possible as well, for example it's really easy to connect through Riga, though teams would need to fly from the airport in Oslo.
BUT I really don't want to get my hopes up
