Since no one knew their partner before hand this season, it would make sense for there to be a "how well do you know your partner" challenge in the last few legs.

Maybe TARUS will finally bring over that Active TV/TARA/TARAu/TARPH favorite "What do you think about other teams?" task, but in a way that does not screw two awesome All-Star teams from a win. lol

After gleaning what I could from the video, the only pier I could find with a parking lot on one side and a gazebo on the other side is this little place next to the rainforest resort. Can't call it yet, though.

Nope. I believe the view is at the base of Chagres River in Panama.

I'm talking about leg 3, not Panama.

This may well prove to be nothing useful, but I can't tell for sure. I saw this tweet below from earlier today in Arabic that may be a sighting, apparently from Cairo. It seems improbable, but I figured I'd share it anyway and see what others think, since we seem to have lost them right now. The timing would be about right for a flight from Sao Paulo to Europe and then to Egypt.

هو The Amazing Race بيعدي في مصر؟!
لا بجد، أصل أجانب في خط جيزة شبرا بتاع المترو is so weird على عنيا
4:36 AM - 15 Jun 2016

which Bing translates as:

Is The Amazing Race cross into Egypt?!
No, seriously, the origin of foreigners in Metro line so angry is weird btaa shubra on Ania

Google comes up with:

Niala on hard, the origin of foreigners in brief Shubra line Btaa Almitroho The Amazing Race Abieda in Egypt ?!
is so weird

Though while cut and pasting, I get the English and Arabic words shifted around in Google while I'm copying them, so that probably alters the translation a bit.

A little googling finds that there is a Giza-Shubra line on the Cairo Metro system, so the sighting (if it is one) appears to have been there. I could see a team lost on the Cairo Metro being angry. I have a hard time believing that TAR would find Egypt to be a safe destination, so I wouldn't expect they would go there. I could be wrong though. I haven't heard of any recent trouble in Egypt, but I admit I don't follow the news from there closely. Most likely, the guy just saw some foreigners on the Cairo Metro and threw out a TAR reference while commenting on it.  If anyone here knows Arabic, a better translation might help. The guy's twitter feed has links to posts on his Facebook page, but the ones I looked at didn't seem to have anything to do with TAR. He appears to be an engineering student or maybe an engineer from what I can tell.

Had a nice convo with Ahmed, who was very helpful.

Here is the gist of the conversation:

Sighting:
Who did you see?
They were 3

2 women and an old man with gray hair

Not to old

But older than the 2 ladies

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Where were they?
They were on the metro
They got of in a station called el sadat (Later described as a Square)
They spoke english
I'm guessing European not American English
Like UK , Ireland, Welsh. IDK
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

What made you think "Amazing Race"? Were there cameras? What did they say or do that made you think race?

.They held a paper

A kind of instruction paper

And on it was the logo

The amazing race

I could distinct it as i was a big fan of the show once bofore

And you don't see tourists this deep in the country frequently

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Were there cameras? Backpacks?
No cameras whatsoever
I do think they were contestants
There was only one backpack
But it was more like a bag
A back bag
Small and half full
~~~~~~~~~~~

Pretty much it...

No cameras? Probably bogus or a local Race?  :umn:

This is almost too weird to post...but here goes.

Doing my middle of the night TAR search.

Via twitter, keyword Keoghan.

Got the tweet below...

Now kiwibot posts PURE NONSENSE. So the tweet itself is worthless and MEANS NOTHING.

What was odd, and I could not capture it...was the tweet said "translated from Estonian"

No idea... just odd. Maybe someone could try to replicate?.

Estonian could explain no sightings... and hasn't been visited since 15.  But :duno:

I don't see "translated from Estonian" either. Just a normal ...well... just a bizarre content tweet with normal formatting.

For what it's worth, according to Wikipedia, Matamata is a real small town on the north island of New Zealand and Petra Bagust was the host of a New Zealand morning show until she quit a few years back to spend more time with her husband and family.

If it was a real TAR clue box, I don't think they would leave their snacks on top of it. At least that's an image I'd rather not contemplate.

Geez, Roy, you spilled your ginger ale all over the clues! No, stay away! I'll clean up. You have greasy fingers from the chips!

I took a closer look at the twitter account of the guy who posted the clue box photo. He has retweeted a lot of messages from a high school in Manila and appears to be a teenager, so I expect that the clue box is in the Philippines.

Now I remember! :groan:

I occasionally see some people in my social media promoting a local TAR-esque competition held earlier today, June 17.

Therefore, I can confirm that cluebox ain't a legit TAR US cluebox. I'm impressed with the cluebox that they have though. :o

 :funny: OK, I'm bored waiting for new race info...so decided to dig further into that (local race) cluebox sighting pic.  I think I figured out the lettering on the tent-like thingie.. kinda looks like "100Plus".

Turns out "100Plus" is a isotonic sports drink, produced in Malaysia, and popular in Malaysia and Singapore.  Not a stretch to imagine it's liked in the Philippines too.  :snicker:  Maybe those cases of bottles on the ground are related.  :grins:  Again, nothing to do with our race....  :(

OK, I'm still bored..... carry on.....

Anyone bored could be searching FB, twitter, Instagram and News for sightings!!

It takes a village!

And vary your search terms...try filming, Phil, Backpacks, cameras, and other race related terms!

Someone did list the likely flights breakdown yesterday, just can't find the post anymore now.

Discounting the US, the rest of So Am, and the 20 or so LOVELY flights to Iguassu Falls...

Here are the International flights tomorrow: 6/14:

madrid    200
Rome      305
Madrid    310
Paris     345
Lisbon    345
London    410
Munich    445
Jo-burg    600
Zurich     605P
Frankfurt     710
Amsterdam  715P
Toronto     805
Abu Dhabi  1005P
Frankfurt  1010
Paris      1035
Madrid     1055P
Barcelona  1155
London     1155

London/Frankfurt/AMS open up all of Europe and Scandinavia nicely.

Looking at the flights and since we got no sightings in a while they could have gone to Johannesburg
Jo-burg    600

or flew to a European destination and/or transit to another country
Hopefully we can catch them soon and backwards map

The surprising part of no sightings is quite puzzling actually because contestants literally have amazing race written on their fanny packs. Anyone technically could tell its the amazing race. :funny: :funny: :funny: :groan:

Yup, that's Filipino.  That and the other tweets from this morning are basically any of the following:
-Complaining about Manila traffic
-Complaining about school class times
-Amazing Race Asia auditions
-24 Hours of Le Mans racing

Thanks d-m! Yes Le Mans is going to make searching challenging today!

Fossil-  Jo-burg has an extraordinary fan group that have missed very little in the past. They only ones we miss there have been the immediate small plane hops to nearby game preserves/adjoining countries. If they were RACING in Jo-burg I have confidence they would have been seen.
