A little FYI about Cartagena. Cartagena was the most heavily defended/fortified city in the Spanish Main. It is the place that the Spanish collected all the plunder from the Incas before sending it back to Spain. There are 7 major forts surrounding the city and the city itself was behind a huge wall too.
Today, Cartagena is a modern city and is very similar to Miami Beach. It is a place where a lot of South Americans go in the winter to escape the cold and frolic on the beach.
In the movie, "Romancing the Stone," Cartagena is the city where Michael Douglas fights the bad guy and the cayman for the emerald. In scene, Douglas jumps off the wall of a fort to catch the cayman. The funny thing, the wall he jumps off of, is about 5-6miles from the fort where he lands...........artistic license I think they call it.
