There's no such thing as 12 hour or 24 hour or 36 hour fixed length pit stops any more. Teams no longer know how long a pit stop may be, or if there is one of any length at all.

Maybe what he meant was a pit stop 36 hours long, not necessarily a fixed one. :) Kym & Alli mentioned it in an article, and the link is somewhere near the end pages of the Amazing Race Questions thread.

i was at the HK airport from 7:30 am to 10:15am (local time) and i haven't seen any teams or production crew

Pure spec; if the rumblings about MYC are believed, it would be fantastic to have a Switchback to Hello/Goodbye memory task followed by the finish line at Flushing Meadows
